TNJ is gonna fail so badly.
-
Probably because this manga is not Naruto.
-
Next I'd have Alibaba get his ass handed to him badly since him beating Hakuryuu in a 1v1 is unrealistic to say the least. And using friendship speeches or Alma Toran's 'tragic' story isn't gonna do jack. If Ohtaka wants to stay consistent in-verse then Alibaba barely surviving his chat with Haku and realizing that he's weak as balls compared to the rest of the big guns is what needs to happen next.
The art has improved.
-
Or Hakuryu "falls" for the speech, and manipulates Alibaba.
-
I think this is when both Aladdin and Alibaba undergo a harsh reality check, they realize they have to become strong enough to stop Hakuryuu and go in search for another dungeon.
I say that before previously it was stated Alibaba couldn't hold a second metal vessel because of his limited magoi. But that was before his and Kassim's magoi fused into one. Now Alibaba has more magoi than ever, I'm sure he can hold one more metal vessel.
-
Curious to see how this would all play out because I think there's to be some benefit on Alibaba's part, especially if my theory of Hakuryuu withholding information is true. It would be pretty one-dimensional, boring or uninteresting if this confrontation bluntly repeats every "evil aligned"-motivation that was already said… because so far, I don't really like this current development of these supposed antagonists.
-
It would really suck if there were a fight here again.
I'd prefer if they had a conversation, during which Alibaba and Aladdin both realize that a fight with Haku is inevitable.
I'm tired of protagonsits who never give up on their "friends". Fucking Naruto syndrome.

At least, he received them.
The way Haku is now is perfect, but what's got me tired is Kouen. He's neccessary to involve Alibaba in the plot now, but he's fated to lose in the next war. Sin will be in charge of that.

That's not Naruto Syndrome, that's Shounen Syndrome.
-
That's not Naruto Syndrome, that's Shounen Syndrome.
Naruto is just the most extreme example I can think of.
If anyone deserves naming rights…
-
To be precise, I've never read a manga where the protagonist was so vehemently focused on getting back one of his friends other than Naruto. The problem however is not the act but the execution. That said, Aladdin will be the first one to realize how pointless is to try to convince Hakuryuu.
-
Well yeah, there has to be a point where the protagonist realizes it's best to beat the shit out of his "friend" first and ask questions later. I keep putting apostrophes around friend because Haku and Alibaba aren't really friends. They went in a dungeon together, spent some time together on Syndria and then sailed back to Balbadd during which Haku killed a woman.
It's nice that he wants to hear him out, but it would be nicer if, after hearing his crap out, he went back to training and trying to obtain another djinn ASAP. Thank god Aladdin is there to provide guidance. His household seems to be fairly realistic too.

Then making his training pointless at all, you are now making Magi look like Bleach lol.
This is a perfect chance to show Alibaba he has grown up both mentally and physically.

After finishing the Sasan arc and seeing Solomon mentioned (or even shown) once again with his staff, his book and his deeds, I was mesmerized for a short moment before realizing what the real story behind Solomon was like and how that book is so very redundant. Ohtaka, my girl, how could you only…
Now I'll wait for a few weeks/months till the next arc is finished. Which I also expect to be a good one. And by the way, Mistoras' death flag was huge and red like blood, wasn't it?
-
It's more like a blood red death veil over our heads as it's hard not to see it

Tee hee! Oh I love this manga.

Naked Sinbad, me likey.

Spoilers are out. Boy, didn't see that coming…
! But one thing is for certain. This is war, and an impeding curbstomp battle for both Aladdin and Alibaba.
-
I heard this was a pretty decent manga, and I'm thinking about reading it. What can one expect from this?

And the spoilers are . . . . . .?

Didn't notice the second episode, let alone the third one that came sometime…
-
Ok I ll try to share my thoughts on the recent happenings.
It starts good. The deeper meaning and whole different philosophy and never ending question about god and what god is and in this case rukh and god will and what not. The story arc of Alma T. started good, but then as often enough this mangaka started exaggerating stuff to prove a point. Like for instance how casually Salomon decided to go and use that god's rukh and kill the god itself as he says. Then we come back and its again all good how people react natural to this type of news but then Judar and 4th prince just like that go and get zillion power in one week or whatever and they kill the big bad wolf and then they throw their morals to a toilet sit and fall into depravity cause why the f not, their history is fuel for the never ending enger which they redo over and over again. Then the entire fighting scene naturally and the two generals and the bite and I mean jesus christ. I like the concept of Magi but the way it is executed at time makes me wanna make a post like this and in the end Aladin and Alibaba coming blindly to the Futile rescue cliche much.
Some ideals in this manga that people have and the ways they want to implement them and do stuff is reminding me of that demotivator picture " Some people just wanna watch this world burn" or whatever lol

Chapter 252 Chinese scanlation.
-
! There's no stopping this now. Get out of there fast, Alibaba!
-
! There's no stopping this now. Get out of there fast, Alibaba!
It hopefully means the next arc will be an Alibaba power-up.
-
It's Naruto all over again
-
Talk no Jutsu doesn't work here, Alibaba.
-
I would tell Alibaba to kick his ass but Judar and other reinforcement are in the vicinity. Aladin better save his king by pulling a superb escape plan.
-
Ohh, that's an interesting conflict here. I didn't like how kinda quickly and somewhat easily Gyokuen went down, but Hakuryuu continues to be really interesting in turn. In a way he's got a point - there might be people out there that do things just because they're considered "right" not because they honestly want a better world. Alibaba has always shown to honestly care about Balbadd and his friends, but having adopted the cynical worldview, Hakuryuu gives it this connotation. The other choice is that deep down, Alibaba really was kinda like that, which would also be interesting, but I'm not exactly sure about that.
-
So, a small showcasing where Alibaba and Aladdin realize they're outmatched, leading to their escape and decision to get stronger?
-
I fint it really bizarre and at the same time amazing, how Haku's actions, even his desire for revenge, are completely justified. People comparing him to Sasuke show they lack in knowledge about a revenge plot done the right way. There's a lot out there, perfectly well written like this one. And yet they stubbornly keep pressing with that crap.
-
i get what hakuryuu is saying..what i don't get is why he now wants alibaba dead
-
Ohtaka, mah bitch. You're the only one who makes me enjoy every fucking chapter released.
Ali must do anything but evangelize, that's Aladdin's work.
-
Hakuryu made a lot of sense in this chapter, if Alibaba runs away from him he will look like a complete pussy.
-
For what its worth, Haku is spot on about Kouen
Fuck that guy -
dunno why people keep mentioning that other manga
here Alibaba is trying diplomacy by carefully considering all his options, what ways he could persuade hakuryu while legimately scared by his change. Ultimately though, he mostly only cares about his own nation (albeit in a better way than kouen) and maybe a tiny little bit about his friendship with hakuryu (i.e. doesn't want to see him in such a poor state)
hakuryu calling him out on the selfish part and his evil overreaction is natural and perfectly justified given his current dark personality, he sees both of them as people who only care about their own nations and the differences between Alibaba and kouen's moral decisions doesnt mean anything to him
i'd also give props to ohtaka for managing to insert a comedic moment that didn't even diffuse any tension. Alibaba comparing heights would normally just be comedic bonding but here it's pretty much just him trying to diffuse the tension to smooth neogotations, but given how deep hakuryu's descent into depravity (not sure if this is the correct term) was shown a few chapers before, the reader knows it's not gonna work and it just ends up being a dark moment.
that other manga whose persuations were literally "friendship" speech and nothing more doesn't even deserve to have its name mentioned in this thread. oh and that character was a main while hakuryu is arguably not,(even if the focus shifts now) nor was that character's descent into the dark side or w/e properly justified at all.
i 'm sleepy so please excuse any grammar errors.
-
i get what hakuryuu is saying..what i don't get is why he now wants alibaba dead
Probably because he sees things in a distorted way. He manages to twist anything in a way that makes his actions justified for him. Here we had Alibaba trying to find some common ground with Haku, only for the latter to concentrate on one thing and make it look like Alibaba was trying to manipulate him as if he is some kind of a villain. Quite a spin.
Might seem weird but world is filled with people who will get caught up with any small detail that seemingly gives them legitimacy to do something they think is right or that gives them some kind of benefit. Politicians, corporate heads, dictators, religious fanatics, revolutionaries, protesters, terrorists, psychos… You name it.
Compared to this, Sasuke is a kids cartoon character.
-
Your everyday talk no jutsu ending might here just turn into your murder-Hakuryuu-while-crying-heartbreakingly ending eventually. Nice going so far, Ohtaka. I'm pleasantly surprised.
-

–- Update From New Post Merge ---
i get what hakuryuu is saying..what i don't get is why he now wants alibaba dead
He's pretty paranoid now and Alibaba just used his sister and Morgiana in order to make Haku go his way. No wonder he would be that mad. Especially with Alibaba not even aware of what's the problem.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Judar is probably kicking some ass today.
Not sure how Haku will show he is superior as Zagan haven't improve his personal strength.
Still betting on the midget pulling something awesome like usual.
I wonder what they'll do after that.

This.
Haku fell into depravity initially on a hypocritical decision. If he really just wanted to defeat Gyoken and save Kou, he could've done so with Aladdin and co. But he chose Judar because he was the only person who could help him kill Gyoken while letting him hold on to his hatred. He's addicted to it. He already stated that the only way he can live is by following his wrath. Alibaba was already able to sense the change.
Now Haku is just a vessel for his hate. He's already gone. 250 was such a powerful chapter cause once his mother was gone Haku was empty until he could find a target to re-invigorate his wrath toward. (Kouen) Any reasoning he provides is just a rationalization to justify his hatred. Even Judar silently called BS on his reasoning. But Haku will take any excuse he can to justify his bloodlust. The underlined is so right, people do this all the time irl. Especially office politics

Alibaba. You are an idiot.
