@Fuka-chan~:
So you know he has no obligation to write if he doesn't have to right?
He DOES have some obligation. To his audience that has supported him through the years, to the magazine the publishes him, for the hundreds of anime staff and assistants whose jobs depend on him creating.
Now, that's not to say he's the fandom's bitch and needs to stay chained to his desk, (nor any writer), but as a creator of an ongoing story, he made a promise upfront to try and deliver material regularly to the best of his ability, as does any author with an ongoing, be it in novels that come out every three years or a comic that comes out once a week.
If his average schedule can't meet the pace and demands of the publication he is in, alternatives should be seriously discussed.
That said, if he's got a legitimate illness this time around then… what can you do?
@JarmenKell:
something unexpected happened (announced a reason: illness) and it was kind of implied it would come back as soon as he recovered so lets just say the bet is on hiatus for now
He was given a scheduled return date of 2 weeks after his back problems were first announced, and then that was extended afterwards to "when he's better". Its been three weeks since that point.
Hopefully soon.
a certain someone would cheat out of the bet anyways
If that's directed at me? I'm incredibly good about honoring bets I make. Not things that are unclear and retroactively decided. (And I've explained at length multiple times why the Makino/Kizaru thing was wonky… basically the staff never expected Makino to win the match so the planned joke didn't work and was delayed)
If his "back problems" end up extending for like eight months with no further updates, or even a single assistant aided chapter, that's really off-putting and unfortunate and seems to tie more into his old habits, but... we have a legitimate medical reason that's apparently a bit on the severe side. The man is over 50, being hunched at a desk can't be good for him.
Everything I've just said is the exact same crap thats been discussed in this thread for years nonstop now, and its pointless to keep the thread open to support it. We've been given a legit reason this time around beyond "he doesn't feel like it."
So, discuss how good the anime was, or highlights of aspects of the manga that haven't been discussed in a while... or YuYu Hakuso or Level E, but otherwise, quit bitching about it.
