Chapter 761: The Ope Ope no Mi
-
-
Another break, yay!!
Probably gonna be 20 more breaks before 01.01.2015
So we'll have at least 20 more chapters this year? Fantastic!
-
@LordEnel:
Fujitora is so underrated, people on other forums claim he's much weaker then the original three.
hes is weaker but not that much. The old admirals are admirals for many years, hes a newcomer so its obvious hes not kizaru aokiji or Akainu level but not far behind.
-
I don't see the problem.
When Luffy was kid Garp pushed him over bottomless cliffs
We are in One Piece. Was Luffy rubber when this happened?
everytime when something like this happens i remember back in syrup village when a fall off a cliff was treated like a death sentence, and look where we are now
…or falling down stairs:ninja:
at least baby5 thought he was dead
-
zoro with one sword bettered fujitora gravity..
zoro one sword with 360 and with swords is 1080p..
if zoro go asura and makes it 3080p fujitora can not win
but zoro is gay and loves luffy. so he thinks he is weaker.. -
And people last week pointed at me when I said that Corazon was most probably previous Ope Ope no mi user..
With this weeks chapter it became even more likely.Very cool design for Corazon, I expected somebody somehow looking like calmer/nicer person. Though that is one very fancy and very nice design in my opinion.
Nothing in this chapter showed Cora-san was the previous user of the fruit.
-
the ope ope fruits ultimate technique is probably the removal of all organs and even your brain so you can't die from swords, bullets or diseases. although there is still some other technique to stop the aging process.
-
Nothing in this chapter showed Cora-san was the previous user of the fruit.
If you subscribe to his theory, there are plenty of ways to interprete the last chapters in your favor. Of course no absolute proof, but it's not the point of a theory.
-
Doula Mongo can't control will, so he can't force people to use their DF powers.
Yeah it seems if he could he would have made Bellamy use his powers by now.
But then who could Doflamingo get to willingly give him eternal youth at the cost of the user's life? Person would have to be suicidal. Corazon seems off and may fit the bill.
-
Imperfect theory: the immortality granted by the Ope Ope no Mi is actually from eating the fruit itself. Here immortality might not mean agelessness but instead mean undying. The possessor of the Ope Ope no Mi will age normally buy can't be killed. It might help to explain why Law is still functioning despiting being a human-shaped block of swiss cheese. In order to perform the operation on someone else, the user either kills themself or chooses to pass the power directly to another. If it's the former, Doflamingo might have Parasited Corazon to make him kill himself but Law somehow got the fruit. If it's the latter, maybe the all damage the former user has taken while in possession of the fruit is suddenly assessed, Foxy-style, and usually kills them. Law blames Doflamingo for Corazon's death because he and the family always played pranks on Corazon and beat him up.
Just a random theory, but the idea of the fruit itself making one immortal seems plausible.
-
Well, I guess this really was Doflamingo?
-
This has to be the worst translation by MP by far.
-
This chapter also confirms that Law is apparently good at swordsmanship, sniping and martial arts.
So he's not dependent on his DF, as some people thought.
-
We are seeing Law's flashback and we have yet to see Dofla's flashback, so we will be getting a flashback inside flashback?
Nope, just Law's Flashback.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Well, I guess this really was Doflamingo?
Yup, 16 years ago we all were punks.
-
By the way, does anybody understand this conversation?
It sounds like Doula is suffering from a schizophrenic moment.
-
Do we have a semi-good translation for this chapter? I can't understand shit from MP

someone posted a decent scanlation some pages ago
-
The Nobles were unable to kill Doflamingo due to his might… I hope this gets clarified down the road cause as of now it makes little to no sense. If might refers to his status/ secret (trump card) ,then the panel in this chapter that shows clear intent of WG killing Doula makes no sense. If might refers to Doula's fighting skills/power then it makes even less of a sense....Anyway really eager on hearing the full story of Doula's past.

Just messing around here -

Corazon looks way more sadistic than I was expecting. but then again this is Dofla's family we're talking about
-
Doflamingo's strings can cut through solid concrete buildings like butter, but they can't cut Luffy's shoes? Okay.
Also, Corazon reminds me of David Bowie. Specifically, this makeup he used.

I have no intentions of making an account on the wikia, so I'd like to just take the time to say "Fuck You" to everyone involved in updating Corazon's page to that picture of Doflamingo and writing all that nonfactual tedious nonsense about him being Doffy's identical twin
it's a Wikia, you were supposed to correct it. I already tried to get them to see that the picture of Doflamingo was not Corazon but they would not listen
-
Also, I just remembered where I last saw that hoodie thing Corazon wears in OP.
Rivers, one of Bellamy's men.
Don't think it's connected, but you never know. Seeing how Bellamy was under Dofla and all.
-
Good info in this chapter and Law is not disposable, so He's no going anywhere from here on out.

You basically just explained why it can't actually be corrected. When wrong, they're stubborn and won't change a thing, even when common sense states otherwise.

I knew it!! Corazón is alive!
-
if diamante fight zoro..
zoro will mock him like pica..
i see pica is stronger than diamanteDude, you sound like Kuina's dad. Swordsmenship is not about strength, it's about technique! ;)
-
-
Actually he died while going to Skypiea.
Falling from the sky, directly in Gedatsu's bath. HE IS ALIVE!
-
If Fujitora was to become serious, there is not one person on the island that could've stop him. That much should be clear after his fight against Sabo concluded.
Then Fuji might get in trouble with Sakazuki. How could he explain his tie with Sabo?
-
Time for silly comparissions?? Here's mine

A lil offtopic, but which port gets attacked by those sea monsters who seem to be from the new fish men pirates? In the cover story.

(…)Luffy used CoA to block it. You can see his lower legs are also black as well as his shoes.

The OP wiki is hands down one of the single worst wiki pages of any fandom I have ever seen. It's like the entire place is held hostage by two or three children who are basically writing down their own fanfiction they want and everybody else is wrong.
Luffy used CoA to block it. You can see his lower legs are also black as well as his shoes.
When in doubt, explain everything away with Haki. That's what it's good for.
But thank you, I didn't really notice.

I think it's called Port City XD might be a bad translation.
But that's not all, the article below is about some mysterious ruins…

Are baby 5 and buffallo from north blue then.

There are a lot interesting things going on in this chapter. But this particular panel makes me wonder. Why weren't they able to kill Dofla and such a young age? More eager to see his flashback. Especially after seeing Cora. He seems awesome already.
-
Let my theorie begin:
-I'm thinking that the disease that Gol D Roger got was the same that Law.
-Doflamingo wanted the Ope Ope fruit to put his "personality" in a D (maybe theres one D in the Gorosei) so he could manipulate the Treasure (maybe a "plague" or a "energy" only touchable by someone of the Ancient Civilization or with the same DNA)
-Doflamingo discovered one of the uses of the Ope Ope fruit, Doflamingo wanted Corazon to use his Ope Ope Immortality ability in him to try to controle the weapon with no consequences but he choosed to give his fruit to Law to save his life after Dofla tryed to kill him.
-Each Kingdom has a Royal Treasure protected (some of them, the ones known) by the World Government and capable of destroying the World. Royal Treasures are treasures from the Ancient Civilization D.
-
Can't wait to see more of the flashback. I really hope it lasts 2 more chapters, preferably 3. 10/10 chapter, liking the revelations. I wonder if the treasure DD is talking about is related to One Piece… but that may be too early.
-
Then Fuji might get in trouble with Sakazuki. How could he explain his tie with Sabo?
He can't. Come on, not even Maynard is buying it, and he ain't the most perceptive sort.

Same reason they couldn't kill Robin when she was 8

Thank you for providing really good version.
With that translation it sounds even more likely that Corazon was really Ope Ope no mi user in my opinion. It is like indirectly said more than once that Law thanks to Corazon has power to win with Doflamingo now.
Also as Flashback of Laws past started, I hope it will have decent leght like for example Fishman Island flashback and it will show us more of Vergo SAN. I sure do remember and hope for my theory about his ability turning out to be true in the end. I cannot wait for how this flashback will change perspective on Punk Hazard and on this arc.
-
I think that Corazon was an Ope Ope user and now his body is being used by Doflamingo. Doflamingo is probably at least 100 years old and I bet that when he needs to switch into another younger body he makes a deal with someone and gives them the Ope Ope fruit and ultimately makes them switch personalities so Doflamingo gets the young body and the surrogate Corazon dies in the old body. Doflamingo probably wants to keep his clothes so that would explain why his clothes don't quite fit, because they are on Corazon's bigger body now. Law was supposed to be the third Corazon so Doflamingo probably switched bodies a couple times. His original body is most likely long dead and buried.
-
-
Sabotage by their own forces?
That just happened once, they had over 20 years to kill her and failed, WG is not 100% effective and can't control everything as some people think they do, that's why they couldn't kill Doula or Robin.
-
Wonder what exactly immortality by Ope Ope means. Does it just slow aging or is the person immune to injury as well. I'd bet on the first.
Also, can't help but notice that Dofla and Law knowing about the ability means it was used at least once during history. Could there be someone that has lived for hundreds of years or even since Void Century?
Oh, why didn't Law die? 16 years ago he was supposed to die in 3 years time. 13 years ago Dofla supposedly killed Corazon.
Dofla didn't intend for Ope ope to fall into Law's hands.
So wtf happened? Did Corazon have Ope ope, then made Law immortal while he was dying or something, and also gave his ability to Law somehow. It certainly doesn't seem like Law is immortal, but then again, bullet wounds and string stabs don't seem to bother him much.Discuss!

Falling from the sky, directly in Gedatsu's bath. HE IS ALIVE!
:Ooo
With his clumsiness and Gedatsu's absentmindness they surely blowed themselves with Pluton by now. -
Is it just me, or does the flashback make people 'feel' how One Piece used to be somewhat?
Like, oddly it just. Has a certain feel to it, you know?
