Usopp~!! I knew he could do it. I like how the SHs are still growing even after the time skip.
so this is the 3049543049th chapter ended with Doflamingo's grin
Now that you mention it… It's pretty true xD
I guess he just likes grinning.

Yeah that was weird…. sadly Im guessing they didn't fight because they didn't want to hurt them. But damn, couldn't they just knock them out? That wouldn't kill them… And samurais just went with it without any objections? Maybe Oda didn't want to dwell into it, so it wouldn't interfiere with Usopp awesome moment.
With a crowd that large, to knock them out without hurting anyone it would take Usopp's Sleep Star to do the job and well… he was busy.
I really hope this lead bullet is something significant.

Yeah… what can they do without God? :/ King's Haki would help too... but then again, Usopp was busy :)
Usopp deserved this chapter, it was anticipated for long.
I still believe that Oda in chap 732 wanted to hint us with Usopp learning observation, i mean here
I remember guys at that time having fun at the idea of Usopp gaining haki…
Now that a lot of things are starting to fall in their places it's starting to be possible to express some judgements, imho a lot of the criticism of the previous weeks were too premature.
Maybe I'm the only one that's happy about all the sugar faintings and the manly fight between Franky and Senor but i really found those two situations handled decently well and they made me laugh hard. If somebody can't understand and take a joke I just feel bad for him.
It's not that I liked everything, those said jokes too could've been handled in a funnier way, and still Diamante doesn't impress me, and I also have fear we have to wait another month of two just for the final fight to begin, but so far in the end I'm more pleased than not by this arc.
I wonder what happened to Bellamy and what he will do before the end.
Happy to be back here, even tho summer is ending :(
Friday chapter it's not bad, the lack of fan art spoiler yes.
Well this chapter was fucking awesome.
What is great is not Usopp's skill shot per se, but the motivation behind it.
Yes, Usopp adressing the concern about Sugar's ability, recognizing the threat it imposes and finally reacting to how much of a big deal it was for him to forget robin (something no one else so far has addressed) was pretty great.
…But i have to disagree. Usopp's skill is awesome, and i believe that viola plays a role in letting us appreciate just how awesome it is. The scene could have probable played out the same without her, with usopp narrating the bullet's trajectory, but viola is probably the only person who can fully appreciate how ussop's shot unfolds, and she was awestruck by it.
God Usopp <3
If this was the first arc in One Piece, could anyone honestly say they'd keep reading? Love the manga, been reading it for six years, but this is getting terrible.
Are you for real?
Honestly? Not only it feels like a rehash of Alabasta (Luffy beats the bad guy and everything is fine), but also, I feel, stands in opposition to everything this arc has been building.
Not to mention they don't actually have any way to see him.
Or for that matter, makes the public of Dressrosa one the worse people in the course of the series.
how is this going to be a rehash of Alabasta Darth, the marines won't let Luffy leave Dressrosa like Tashigi did back in Alabasta, the won't stay at the palace for a week or so just because they saved the city and how can you say that Luffy will beat Doflamingo and everything will be fine afterwards, are you even looking at your own words right now?

You mean because Dia got hit with Law's old Substitution no Jutsu trick?
Even Doffy himself couldn't do anything about that before.
It's gonna take a combined effort from Kyros and Rebecca to bring my boy down, prepare for some flaggy awesomeness.
Even if he has the best disign and devil fruit in Dressrosa (IMO), Diamante isn't joking with his role of bad guy. It's hard to like him when he wants to kill a little girl.

Do you think the initial awakening of Usopp's CoO could have been the cause of him being so frightened with sugar? Picture him seeing in his mind the defeat of all the dwarves, then hearing their voices lost. Then seeing his own defeat similar to how luffy saw his attack turning out against Mihawk during the war.

And yet everyone loves Caesar.

That one and the fact that he has been looking pretty bad when you put all of this appearances together, the only impressive thing he has done so far is the remark about the Conqueror's clash after that he has been shaken up a lot, from Sabo to Kyros and I don't agree with you on this Kyros and Beca vs yo boy

blind fucking strong person in one piece.. i cant imagine how stong fujitora CoO, maybe the best?
Noone has better Observation then Enel
Diamante. It's hard to like him.
Mangastream was pretty funny..
Doflamingo: Im hurt, and here id though it'd be for tea

To be honest I really couldn't say, I've never thought of that.
In my opinion I like the fact that memory is the biggest difference between animals and us and the real key to the evolution of humans as a collective and to the personal growth of all individuals. I think Oda want us to feel that Usopp realized that without his memories, when Robin was toyfied, he couldn't ever be the same that he actually is. In fact there was a mass disappointment against Usopp in those chapters because of his regression as a character. I think that's why he went badass versus Sugar, because he didn't want to lose the part of him he struggled so hard for.
Gosh I can't wait for Vergo's Law's flashback to happen, I've been anticipating his flashback for way too long and we're practically there:happy:
Usopp getting Haki out of nowhere isn't exactly the best way of dealing with it. Especially when he already had quite an overwhelming time in the spotlight. What happened this chapter was just an annoying repetition of that and delay of the climax for no good reason at all.
Something tells me that you only care about the fights and nothing else.
I really don't understand why so much focus on ending the arc, to the point of having a countdown.
Geez, forget about character development, drama and awesome supporting scenes, just get to the action already!
"Luffy beats the bad guy and everything is fine" - isn't that basically… most of arcs? :)
They don't have ways of seeing him now. When Luffy will start using g3 and destroying everything around, or Doffla flying around, then they might see them.
So the message her would be: Side with strongest around?
Morality doesn't matter, strenght does. Citizens side against Doflamingo not because Doflamingo is moraly evil, but because Doflamingo was already beaten and they are safe.
Dealing with the situation in that way is a terrible message. And honestly, a terrible finish to everything Oda build-up throughout the arc.

I'm not saying this will happen, I'm saying it would be terrible if it did, and that it stands on the contrary to what has been showing this arc.
Something tells me that you only care about the fights and nothing else.
At this rate, yeah absolutely. That is the only thing I care about in this arc. Because this arc is torturously long and teasing with promises of confrontations with Doflamingo every 3-5 chapters and then Oda goes ''JK LOL'' and then it has to be stretched a little bit more for absolutely no reason at all. Having Sugar become concious again was so absolutely unneccessary and carried absolutely no relevance whatsoever. And also, having Usopp knock her out the exact same way he did before. One time was enough. But it seems that I am swimming against the stream (Scratch that, the tidal wave) off opinion on this chapter.
At this rate, a good battle will truly save the entire arc. I doubt that Diamante will do anything except for getting owned and Peeka's use off his ability has been, to say the least, dissapointing. So I'm sort off hoping for a fat team battle.
Holy crap Diamante's tall.

Except, you know, giving Usopp a reason to act, awakening an important new power in the process.
It was an extremely important development.
Again, you missed the point of the chapter. It was about Usopp's growth, not Luffy and Law reaching Doula Mongo.

I refuse to believe anyone could truly consider this to have been 'the same way' as before, short of being very deliberately obtuse.
As a quick thought experiment here, let me present a reasonable description of how Sugar was knocked out each of the two times. On the first occasion, Usopp was totally defeated by his enemies, and only ended up knocking out Sugar due to luck, as well as her own vindictive hubris. This time, Usopp knocks Sugar out by making what should be an impossible shot – demonstrating his own, all too rarely seen skill -- driven by his own determination, and with the help of his allies.
How in the world are those two situations even remotely similar, let alone 'the same'? I presume you're referring to the use of the 'face' in both cases, but I mean, good lord, saying Sugar was knocked out in 'the same way' simply because of that would be akin to saying Luffy has defeated each of his opponents in 'the same way' because it's always involved him hitting them in some way or other.

Our opinions on the chapter couldn't be farther apart, but there is some truth in the bolded line. The fact that we have to guess if this is really Doflamingo next to Trebol is slightly annoying. Keeping the villain relevant throughout the entire arc is no easy task, especially when we consider the chaotic theme of Dressrosa .. but still.

Sometimes you shouldn't even bother with these kind of posts. one of the main reason i rarely post anything here.
One piece is probably on of the best mangas (story telling wise) there is.
Usopp this chapter, for me, has redeemed himself after going against luffy.
You mean because Dia got hit with Law's old Substitution no Jutsu trick?
Even Doffy himself couldn't do anything about that before.
It's gonna take a combined effort from Kyros and Rebecca to bring my boy down, prepare for some flaggy awesomeness.
Diamante will be pulling a white flag at the end of the fight.:ninja:
In all seriousness, I do hope Diamante show some cool moves during the fight because he's the least impressive of the elite officers.
So far, he killed an unarmed woman, try to kill her daughter and knock out some fodders. Not exactly impressive.
I wanna Marry this chapter <3
Which is again, problematic from my point off view for the simple reason that the arc is too damn long.
But the arc can't be made shorter without taking away certain elements which, knowing Oda, will end up being relevant not only in the present, but also the future.
Gladiator allies, Usopp's Haki, Mansherry, Revolutionaries…
The arc can't just drop all those things just to make Luffy start his final battle earlier. It's like complaining that Luffy is taking too long to find the One Piece because he's having too many adventures.
Look carefully, you just missed the most important part of the chapter!
!
Nobody cares of The poor Bellamy humiliated one more time At The feet of Doflamingo. ..
Favorite side character this arc, I definitely care.
Yes but he has the sholololo!
And he killed more children…While Diamante killed zero children.
And Scarlett deserved what she got
STEVEN TYLER DID NOTHING WRONG

Still Diamante doesn't have this fututre-nakama aura surrounding him.:wassat:

Diamante aside, I kind of want to see Caesar join. Especially over Barto.
Shitstorms about morality will be so intense, some people would implode on themselves.
Who else has this aura?
For now it's only around Ceasar. But it might be a side effect of his devil fruit.
Well this chapter was fucking awesome.
Usopp was fully deserving of the spotlight in this chapter, hoping Law will deal with Trebol and leave Doffy to Luffy.
Loved how this time Usopp intentionally took out Sugar, wonder if Cabbage will now be free to assist the others fighting below as Sugar has now been taken out again. Sugar will probably wake up again see the picture on the wall and get knocked out again.
I wonder if Oda has kept the Zoro vs Pica fight as he also has something special planned for Zoro. Perhaps we will get to see him open his other eye.

I would prefer Viola for nakama, Barto already has a crew. Ceasar is a possibility though especially as Kaidou and Big Mom will want him for themselves. More likely he will end up in Impel Down.

Viola suffers from idiocy that runs in Riku family. I would take Cavendish instead. After some beutiful moments of development he will start to trust his friends, and will stop turning into serial killer at night. Good character arc.
Viola's devilfruit would take the adventure out of OP

Strawhats already have a swordsman so Cabbage is not needed and Zoro is a better swordsman anyway.
I wish Violet would just… go away.

Shame Zoro is not a better person…
A man can dream though.
If there are somebody I really don't want anywhere near the crew, it's dwarves.
I wish Violet would just… go away.
I like her more than I do Rebecca. Rebecca bores me as much as Pica and Diamante do.
If Doflamingo get's defeated, I will be so surprised and pissed off at the same time.
@OPR:

He's the big bad which means he is going down one way or the other, same with the previous arcs.
Look carefully, you just missed the most important part of the chapter!
Is that mother fruckin' KAIDO masquerading as a little girl?!
Truly he is the most fearsome pirate in all the seas.
Viola suffers from idiocy that runs in Riku family.
Care to explain, what is idiotic about Viola ?
Best chapter of the arc. Simply amazing. Usopp stepped up; incredible snipping and he gained COO.
It's going to be Luffy and Law vs Doflamingo and Trébol. Oda won't have had Law's handcuffs removed if he was just going to be beaten by Dofla again and there's no history/grudge between Law and Trébol, so they won't wind up fighting each other. The opening text even said 'Luffy and Law, the best tag team, are back in action!'. They're going to double team Dofla. Trébol's there because Luffy and Law would be too much for Dofla by himself.
