Chapter 757: The Trump Card

You should check BlueStacks. It should work.
I have had Bluestacks installed for a while and the only online reader app that shows up as available for download is Crunchyroll's.
-
Really? Imma check it out real quick. Thanks
I approve of BookDepository as an active customer, actually got volumes on their way right now, and fellow meatball. Go for it.
-

The good thing for you is they sometimes ship manga volumes to me from Sweden.
But most of the times they ship it from UK. And it takes 12 -15 days to reach my country " Saudi Arabia".
For free it is excellent deal, and no matter how much books you buy they will ship them separately for free.
-
I only can say
I've watched this entire video, and I… for the first time ever, am not sure how I feel about it. Usually I have an emotion or feel some time of way, not this... I actually feel blank and it's so weird...
-
I am, and I still will, blame Shueisha for this. I'm sorry, but there is no way they can't deal with this issue.
Give Viz exclusive rights to digitaly distribute english translation of your mangas. There, problem solved.
It's not as easy as you think Darth. What, you've never heard of Harmony Gold Macross situation?
International licensing is a hell of a mess, and it's always have been. They're not the only ones stuck in the rut.Stripping away licensing rights from companies you already made a deal with leads to a whole crapload of legal mess, dude.
-
Or do what's actualy happening, keep the rights as they are, but don't enforce the exclusivity.
Like Sony does with regions, there's no lock, so if you want, import away.
-
^Sony is a mega-international corporation, who can handle their own product anywhere.
To make the same comparison, Shuueisha would have to stop being a simple Japanese publisher, and become an international corporation. If they could wipe the slate clean, they could open regions, but that's taking quite a risk.
-
This is why Redon and Aohiges source for the manga is anonymous.
Am i right? That person/s could get in heaps of shit.
-
I find it pretty nice that working week will end with One Piece chapter at friday.
Like a positive push directly into weekend.. -
Ah, a Friday release? Just like the old days.
I prefer it anyway. Good way to end the week.
-
Why don't we turn APforums into a solid publisher company and send Aohige to negotiate copyrights??
Baam, there you go, problem solved.

@indigo~ink:
I actually didn't realise this until I read you guys' Ucy conversation, but I think the joke is:
Luffy's gladiator name is Lucy (Rūshī, ルーシー)…
So he nicknames the fighting bull Ucy after himself (Ūshī, ウーシー)...
And in Japanese うし (ushi) = cow...which Luffy uses to refer to any kind of cow/bull/ox that appears. For example when he calls Blueno "cow" here he says "ushi"
http://www.mangastream.to/one-piece-chapter-383-page-2.html
Another example is that Dalton and Kaku's devil fruits are models of the "ushi ushi no mi"."Moocy" gets the pun across in English nicely!
That's really great to know about the Viz chapters. Surprisingly New Zealand appears to be one of the countries that can use the app. I quite possibly will buy, my only problem is that reading manga on my tiny Android screen can't compare at all to reading it on my laptop… If that webpage viewer was available over here I wouldn't even hesitate! I might buy it anyway to show my support. Having enjoyed reading One Piece for eight years or so just from online scans... I need to translate this into value that companies can understand so One Piece stays strong = dollar dollar bills!
I don't think it's a vendetta against non-English speaking countries, I think it's probably more to do with economic viability and licencing issues, as others have said... Buying manga digitally via apps is a pretty new idea and these things can't be implemented instantaneously, it makes sense to start with America and gradually expand.
Thanks for explaining, but maybe I wasn't clear in my post. I got the joke, maybe cause I knew what Ushi was, maybe cause it was explained on forum and what Im saying I prefer more direct translation with possible explanation, than 'flavor translation' that will be understood without translating. I apprieciate the effort of translator, because I suspect that most english speaking readers just want to read the chapter and understand it as if it was english comic, and doesn't care about japanese jokes/puns. So it's all good, just personal preferance ;) Maybe Im a bit more detached from english translation cause it's not even my native language :P
I got 7" tablet so I could read it quite nicely (in fact i tested it), since it's around the size of actual page in volume, maybe even bigger, but I don't have access to Viz, and I don't like buying digital only goods. Also Im not too rich… But I try to buy volumes when i got a chance. I got 2 volumes of Punk Hazard in Japanese ;)

I did not, actually.
That is honestly quite stupid way of making deals, in my humble opinion. Giving one company rights to a monopoly in one chosen country, with complete lack of influence over their releases and schedules, including legal, and I would assume, financial consequences when trying to intervene with said monopoly? Even when the company is not only deliberatly stonewalling your attempts to bring a service they do not currently provide, but is actively not working on providing a working alternative to your customers? When they are actually making money on selling your stuff?
What?
I do not comprehend how can you sign deal that so obviously have many possibilities of screwing you over…
-
^ I don't think anyone disagrees it's a less than ideal situation, but it is what it is.
Now, if the parent company was someone like Disney or Warner Bros, they have the (international) muscle to reign in control of however they want to market overseas. But you can't expect that same strength from a local publisher or studio. They're gonna play safe.

Oh yeah, sorry I did think that was what you meant. I guess was more thinking out loud and trying to help anyone who wasn't studying Japanese… But I shoulda known that it had already been explained!
I see what you mean, I'm actually exactly the same. I definitely appreciate the work of the translator, but it gains more value to me if I go and retrace it from the original Japanese back to English. I guess this is the aspect of the anime that I really appreciate - being able to hear the original Japanese simultaneously while having subs to help translate helps you put it all together and pick up on things that aren't necessarily able to be translated just through dialogue.

yeah, no problem :)

Looks like I still have the time to read more volumes. Maybe I will find more of Jabra's epic cosplay…

Wow, a chapter thread which I can read 6 pages of, and actually find it interesting?

One Piece is not cancelled.

One Piece is not cancelled.
I'm pretty sure it's cancelled.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
My friend said so...
-
I'm pretty sure it's cancelled.
Hmm… Let's think of four possibilities of why you may say "One Piece Cancelled".
1. One Piece is over. It's cancelled.
2. One Piece is absent this week. It ain't coming out. So it's cancelled.
3. One Piece is not cancelled. But you troll for lolz
4. Oda quits. One Piece is over. It's cancelled. No, no, yes, no.
-
You are correct. That's it then.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
One Piece, we hardly knew ye...
I'll miss it.

At least we still have this:

Yeah your friend is Oda, if he says it's cancelled then it is…. :(

That cut will not be possible without his DF.
This is a baseless assumption. We've seen characters cut things with mere kicks before. He did the same to Kinemon previously threw a sharp kick at Fujitora which the latter was forced to block with his sword. It was obviously just a really sharp kick.

good chapter. Very good chapter
