Mangastream translated Elizabello's punch as "Right Version" instead of "Light Version", lel.
I was totally confused about that, even more so since he used the left punch lol, I was like dafuk

Luffy being pirate king for one day…
few hours after the releas of the chapter and only 10 pages? that's what I thought too the chapter was kind of short, nothing really happened to discuss…
the chapter was good for me, not the best but still, seeing all those colosseum fighters having a spotlight made me happy. although I don't think they are strong enough to take down one of the 3seats, maybe if they join there force like in this chapter chinjao and elizabelo, btw king of prodence will be pretty much useless from now on.
i'm surprised no one talked about this : what mihawk said was true, I don't know if this has to do with Luffy's affiliation or? I hope Oda does not forget about that, and make other character realize that Luffy has this fearsome ability (like Law/Kidd).

People do actually bring that up, from time to time and even in this thread.
This chapter was awesome. Not because of how it advanced the story, or because of anything particularly awesome happening, but because I was laughing out loud for most of the chapter.
Move over Akainu, Admiral So Trong just got promoted.

Was a 17 page chapter with 3 double spreads. So you only turned the pages 14 times. Anyway great chapter! This was completely needed as it now signifies why these characters seem important to the arc and to the future as a whole. I'm sure the Funk bros, Bellamy, and the bounty hunter, Jean Ango will show up. The other D-block members I could careless about, they were never properly introduced.
Seems to me that Law would have a cakewalk with Peeker. He can just shufle him about the place 'til he finds the core.
And betwenn the lot of 'em i suppose they've got what it takes to down one of Doffy's big four. Assuming that teamwork is an option ofc.
But the best moment of the chapter was when Luffy met the bull again.
im thinkin about picas reaction after getting "his" arm smashed…
while he fought zoro it seemed likely to be some kind of golem that he controls like perona does, but now that i think about how his eyes seem to be not made of stone and how he is an stone absorbing man, couldnt it be his real body beeing pumped up through fusing with the stones?
Edit: but then again his arm would be done for now if that was the case
also lol at zoro mentioning oars in the ms version
in pandas translation i wasnt even sure who was talking because it was just "man, he became bigger than i thought"

That's actually what I've been thinking since his introduction as well. Zoro didn't know how to defeat him, let's see what these guys do.
This is turning to be quite interesting..
Is it just me or did Oda completely forgot that he created Damask and Meadows

And Rolling Logan, and Jean Ango, and Mummy, and the Funk Brothers…
Hahaha Dagama made me lol so much, "that's right, we have absolutely no interest in your bounty" starts crying on the inside
@Devil:
Hey man, I thought you were gone for good, nice to see you around here!
Yea I got slightly irritated, after thinking about it I realised it was pointless to argue about it, haters are gonna hate, ain't gonna change anytime soon.
I still wanna discuss my favorite manga tho, so I couldn't help myself :p
And Rolling Logan, and Jean Ango, and Mummy, and the Funk Brothers…
Well Ango and Funk Brothers I can pass. They had pretty notable appearances in the arc. But Damask, Meadows, Mummy, and Rolling Logan and Acilia (both of whom at least did something really small) were really obviously glossed over.
But eh. I wanted to know more about Damask and Mummy but it looks like we aren't getting anything from them (the anime will probably have a filler fest though).
Everybody's annoying and tsundere: The Chapter.

I'm glad to hear that :)
@Myu:
Anyhow shouldn't Law be gravely injured right now? He was down even before having 3 bullets pierce his body.
Iceberg was shot 5+ times and was just fine afterwards. And he's not a combatant like Law. This sort of recovery isn't unprecedented.
Given that those guys are with Luffy, Zoro and Law, I am guessing that the rest of the named Coliseum participants (Funk Brothers, Meadows, etc.) are going to help Usopp's group.

In theory yes but his wounds were mostly inflicted by Doffy which is the uttermost serious stuff you can get. Well one can argue Doffy didn't want him dead, so…
I eventuall want another enies lobby type arc, but where every crew member gets a fight. Dofla seemed perfect but it looks like many of his members have to be taken on by characters introduced in this arc.
Wow!!! This is a amazing chapter ! It's Super cool to see Luffy getting all these allies !!. I had a blast reading it.

I would like to see that happen. Instead of people just wanting them for their heads . Goodness knows that poor Usopp needs some rest and the group have enough to deal with the Marines and Dolflamingo being after them. It would show that some of the former toys were grateful for what Usopp did and I know that Rebecca has someone that wouldn't mind helping her again, the other female contestant whom I forgot her name at the moment wanted to see Rebecca have Ace's fruit and win the tournament. I can imagine her helping that group

It's been talked about and I pointed out that most of the allies are there not due to Luffy but Usopp. So while I do agree with what Mihawk said, Luffy does have the ability to make allies, it just doesn't factor much here, as only Law outright -and since revoked though Luffy refuses lol- allied with Luffy.
Don Chinjao (pus grandsons) said he was there to destroy Doffy's business then added to repay Usopp.
King Elizabello II (plus Dagama) said he owes a debt to King Riku.
Both Hajrudin and Cavendish said they will not hold a grudge against Luffy … not due to Luffy's own actions but for Usopp's.
So nope, this case isn't because of Luffy' making allies but is more like as if Usopp is taking after Luffy lol
Move over Akainu, Admiral So Trong just got promoted.
I suddenly got the urge to color that and quote you….

and the fighting lion (come on, he remembered the bull! why not the lion?? lol j/k), the Sorcerer Mummy and Acilla

Didn't he get medical attention afterwards?
We don't even know if Law even got that when he carried off to the palace.
Law's face throughout this entire chapter screamed out 'fuck this shit'
Felt a little bit rushed, but it was great, I love to see Luffy getting the Luffy treatment and since Oda was suppose to take a break this week, I can just imagine what he have on stored for the 50 anniversary.
Law's face throughout this entire chapter screamed out 'fuck this shit'
And yet LAW bet on the forthcoming storm without knowing what kind of storms Luffy cause :)

Those guys are probably just there to fight the giant Pica.
I really don't see Oda giving "true" fights to most of those people. They're very minor besides Chinjao and Cavendish.
@Medical Orbit
I don't really think they're strong enough, they already have been exploded by Bellamy with ease, but now that they have "faith" in their God Usopp, a reason to live which make them strongers, who knows…
BTW don't you think Abdullah and Jeet are caricatured like arabians muslims in a cool/funny way? lol
Yeah, that's true. They also probably don't have the power to put him down if they do get any hits in, since he took Franky's rocket launchers without any serious damage.
Those guys are probably just there to fight the giant Pica.
I really don't see Oda giving "true" fights to most of those people. They're very minor besides Chinjao and Cavendish.
But one of those 'minor' guys demolished Pica's arm in combination with DC's attack. I wouldn't underestimate that bunch. Especially the bull. Now we're just missing the fighting lion, really, and Doffy can go home.
I dont see Pica taking real damage from Elizabetho/Chinjao judging from the clash between zoro and pica. It was clearly hinted that the assembled stone "avatar(s)" is separate from Picas real body.
Yeah, but he can't do anything if they keep shattering his giant body. And if Pica were to use his real one to go against all those enemies, he'd die.
Didn't he get medical attention afterwards?
We don't even know if Law even got that when he carried off to the palace.
I mean even with medical attention that's an unrealistic recovery time. I forget the exact timeline but he spent several days fine and dandy building a hugeass ship only a couple of days after he was shot. Iceberg got shot 2 more times than Law did and Trafalguy is a seasoned combatant. Absurd recovery is typical Oda fare, he doesn't make a big deal out of injuries unless he needs to for plot, like Zoro struggling on the archipelago. I don't see the point in being so hung up on Law, I swear there's at least one person going "Hey this guy was was shot 3 times he should be suffering more get it together Oda" in every discussion thread.

But they are basically regrouping around Luffy, fight with him, not with usopp.
It's just like Impel down, Crocodile and Jimbei didn't really join because luffy told them to, they just teamed up, "regrouped" around luffy because they have a common purpose.
Even ivankov didn't join because luffy told him to, he joined because of Dragon…
SAVIOR USOPP!!!!!
Yeah, but he can't do anything if they keep shattering his giant body. And if Pica were to use his real one to go against all those enemies, he'd die.
Well yeah, unless he gets backup from the other executives. Remember that Trebol seems to be able to completley immobilize people with his goo. probably comes in handy in situations of mass chaos, if he can use it in a wide AoE.
Those guys are probably just there to fight the giant Pica.
I really don't see Oda giving "true" fights to most of those people. They're very minor besides Chinjao and Cavendish.
I don't know about that… Ideo Blue Gilly and Sai and Boo are not weak too.
If Elizabello can't use that punch of him again than he is useless, that I can agree on.
Time to start power level talk?

after being used as argumentative tool to benefit Becca at the coliseum, I think Cabbage pretty much deserve his own moment of brightness.

Go re-read the chapter, they are not wanting to fight beside him, they are arguing against him of how will take Doffy's head. They want Luffy to step aside and let them go after Doffy … and they are not even allied with each other (not including the already groups ofr Don -his grandson, Elizabello-Dagama, Abdullah-Jeet) they are arguing against each other to who will get Doffy's head. Unlike the escapees who have seen Luffy in action and knew to let him be ahead in the fighting.
So nope they are not really allies of Luffy right now. Most are fighting to repay a debt to Usopp and just so happen they decided to go after same target as Luffy.
Right now it is not even a team up as they are not listening to Luffy or taking orders from someone tagged as leader who teamed up with Luffy (as happened with the escapees following Buggy who teamed up with Luffy).
I don't know about that… Ideo Blue Gilly and Sai and Boo are not weak too.
If Elizabello can't use that punch of him again than he is useless, that I can agree on.

It's not a question of power. It's a question of importance.
Oda is not dedicating an entire chapter for Ideo fighting an officer, for example. He didn't develop Ideo enough for that.
after being used as argumentative tool to benefit Becca at the coliseum, I think Cabbage pretty much deserve his own moment of brightness.
Cavendish, Bartolomeo, Rebecca, Bellamy and Don Chinjao (and Sai to a lesser extent) were the only gladiators who got some actual focus and decent screentime during the Colosseum chapters. And they actually interacted with Luffy.
Hell, the fucking bull is more important than half of this alliance.

Yeah, Oda wisely kept Meadows' involvement low key to allow him to surprise us big time in the coming chapters. Having him PRETEND to be knocked out by Hakuba was another stroke of genius.
Who else is enjoying the Impel Down vibes of this arc?
Yeah to me it's a mix of so much more than that..as it has Doflamingo as essnetially a more successful and more powerful Crocodile, brought back Bellamy, Ceaser is still very much a part of all of this (even if against his will)…features the revolutionaries, as well as Law...but also shows once again the infamy of the Strawhats via Bart, Cavendish and even Jean Ango...plus things tied to the Yonko....it's a culmination of everything up until this point.
I'm thinking that there is a lot more to Kings Haki then we know. I'm sure that there are other uses for it.
I said it back in the day, and I feel like saying it again. For the sake of discussion or at least to state my opinion, this being a forum, me being bored, and whatnot. . .
I was already happy with these colourful, unique, varied guys existing for the SOLE PURPOSE of making the Colosseum scenes more entertaining. It seems this idea is a total puzzle to many people, who think "if you don't serve a bigger purpose, get out of this manga and stop wasting panels!". In itself, that already had a double purpose from the get go: the one I just said (entertainment's sake), and world building. Ideo comes from a fighting organization in the New World. Now we know something like that exists. Good. The Kelly bros are assassins from a country named Mogaro. Good. Elizabello and Dagama come from Prodence. Great. And Chinjao is the retired ex-pirate captain of a crew that now is led by his grandson and have become the official navy armada of a country called Kanokuni. Great. And more stuff that spiced things up just by exposition value (Jean Ango, for example). Add this with varied, fun fighting styles, abilities and designs, and we had a blast for a couple of chapters.
That, to me, was enough. Everything else coming after that, was a bonus. So that's why I appreciate every scene Oda gives to these characters, and I don't stop to think if they'll be eventually fodderized (I guess they'll be sooner or later?), if some will get an individual fight or not, if they'll end up amounting to much or not. . .for me, the answer is: who cares? To me, this is all some blissful bonus! Oda already made Hack a Revolutionary, gave a purpose to the fighters being in the Colosseum (take down the weapons smuggling), made Elizabello an old comrade to King Riku, gave an awesome background for Cavendish, an even more awesome background for Chinjao. . .everything was already pretty fucking excellent before, with my only gripe being the poor Block D guys that got the shaft (Mummy, Damask, Fighting Lion. . .even Logan. . .and yes, you too, Meadows! Never forget").
Now? We get this. This is beyond what I expected for this arc regarding these guys. Facing the second strongest enemy with a tag team attack, while all of them showing a massive (and retarded, much to Law and Zoro's dismay) ego? This is fantastic.
Bottom line? I don't know, something like, who cares if Blue Gilly or Ideo don't get to do much besides pose in group shots while kicking poor fodder? That's already much more than they'd get in other manga. They've got a good treatment already. Let them be!
. . .
That being said, Oda better keep the Chinjao, Elizabello, Cavendish, Ucy and everyone else's awesome stuff coming! I swear, if they don't bring down Pica, I'm gonna rage! Hard! You hear me, Oda? You hear me? And bring back the Funks! NOW!
Ugh….Mangastream used 'Nakama' at least three times on a single page. barf

Compared to Iceburg (an average human), Law might as well be Superman.
Pica underestimated that group and he got dealt a bad hand.
