So, uh, match-ups…
Anybody has any idea about who's gonna fight who?
Well Zoro vs. Diamante seems pretty granted, considering that they're both swordsmen.
And Sanji with either Pica or Trebol. I'd bet on Pica.
For the rest, hell if I know.
-
Baby 5 vs Violet
Gladius vs Kyros
Doflamingo vs Kyros( gets ass kicked by DD)
Luffy vs DD
Zoro -Pica
Law and Luffy vs Birdcage
Fujitora vs Sabo
Burgess, Diamante,Trebol vs Chinjao,Cavendish,BartolomeoSanji vs Pekoms
Most of the former toy gladiators either destroy factory or defend usopp from Diamante,Trebol,Burgess monster trio

I don't see the point of Burgess getting mixed up in the fight. It's none of his business to help Dofla/Diamante, unless Blackbeard has some sort of business with Dofla.
-
I want to see Kyros versus Diamate, and honestly, I see it happening. After all, Diamante did kill Scarlett and Diamante and Kyros are both colosseum champs.
-
Soo… we have three CP-0 agents on Dressrosa.
And we also have three revolutionaries on Dressrosa.
Our match up for today?

Edited: Wrong thread, have reported post to be deleted.

^Why would you report your own post? Just use the delete post option.
Anyway, now there another turn of events I'm unsure about. Could Fujitora just breeze through everyone and own Doflamingo? Would Dofla use up a lot of strength to create a 24/7 barrier?

Unless Doffy's crew is stronger then Whitebeard's? Yes. Yes he can.

Thanks for the great and elaborate explaination, I have no questions left.

Try telling people the same thing over, and over, and over again. You will get tired of it eventually.
The key lies in how Dressrosa looks at this time. Every executive worth their salt is occupied, except Pica. Even if majority of the pirates joins Doflamingo's side, most of them don't have long range attacks. He can simply fly over everyone. And that leaves Doflamingo and his personal routine at the palace. Out of them, Pica and Doflamingo are probably the only if ones that can do something about Fujitora. Pica can't throw him off the building, because he has his levitation powers. So it goes down to pure fighting provess. And I put my money on Fuji.
Now, in this scenario he goes after Doflamingo. Which he might not, because of… reasons.
-
I wonder how Sanji & Co are going to be brought back in this story. They can't get on the island with this Birdcage activated.
Maybe they are already back on Dressrosa and their encounter with Big Mom will be explained by a short flashback. Another option is that Oda wants to focus on some other characters' battles like Cyros, Barto and Sabo. Maybe Sanji and Co won't have a big role because Oda doesn't want to drag this arc on too long with countless battles of the SH pirates. I certainly hope they will return and fight some of the DD pirates. -
For one, Do not think Fujitora can take Doffy out so easily. Fujitora will get out of that messy, that's for sure.
But. The World Government and Marines are working separately. I mean, if CP-0 and Fujitora could, they would have teamed up to take down Doffy.
I hope that Doflamingo cam be portrayed stronger than he is now.
-
So i was thinking of what peoples roles are going to be on the island.
Fujitora - Civilian Protection and being a general marine
Zoro - Taking down Pica and Doflamingos escort + Deactivating Birdcage. May even clash with Doffy.
Kyros - taking down Diamante
Law - Factory destruction
Sabo - Taking care of Trebol + Destroying supplies and getting some souvenirs for Dragon.
-
While we are talking predictions… I would like if Doflamingo actually escapes after getting beat up by Luffy and get's hunted down by Fujitora somewhere down the line.
I would prefer that vastly over Fujitora just arresting KO'ed Doflamingo.
-

Fujitora: Agreed.
Zoro: Pica for sure! He kept on saying "where is that rock guy" so the chances of him not fighting him are close to zero. As much as i would like to see him fighting DD i don't think that's his role in this time. (As a huge Zoro fan i will think he will be able to take on DD)
Kyros: Totaly understandable. Diamnate was the one who killed Kyros's wife, the reveng will be sweet.
Law: With regards to the "Law can cut seastone theories" even if he is capable of such thing I think Law is pretty much out of the picture with the amount of damage he recived (Or once again he will miraculously heal) I think the destruction is up for the king punch or the key (Since the key has been specifically mentiond)
Sabo: Hmm I just rememberd Trebol saying the sticky stuff was flameable :ninja:
Also Luffy will be againts DD for sure, and I think alone. Oda needs to show a fight that Luffy has a chance to lose in, otherwise it's not interesting.
Kinemon will take care of Gladius. But i can't think of matchups for Machvise, Dellinger, Senor Pink, and Lao G.
-
But I still think that Fujitora not going after Doflamingo is kinda… well, illogical. It is akin to a man putting out house fires, while psychopatic pyromaniac runs down the street setting fires to the entire neighborhood. You should start with incapacitating the crazy person first.
-
Fujitora can't go after Doffy, he is already guarding Franky with gravity. One thing at a time.
Anyway, I would like to see a marine ship flying directly to the Flower Hill.

Do you..like, live and breath Marines?
-
OOOOOh!!! I wasn't expecting Sabo vs Akainu to arrive so early. I need my corn…
-
Sabo vs. Fujitora seems like a given if only to keep both powerhouses busy.
Bastille might face Koala. Shark Cutter vs. Fishman Karate Girl.
-

Yes? Come on, the confrontation between the two was build-up throughout the entire Dressrosa. Hell, it has been built up more than confrontation between Luffy and Doflamingo. I would like pay-off to be at least somewhat satisfying, not simply Fujitora cuffing Doflamingo after the latter was beaten up by Luffy.

Don't expect much, I'm burned out because of the discussion in pirates vs marines thread.

Already? I'm getting used to those powers way too quickly. :ninja:
I get why you are distraught and I definitely wouldn't mind a Marine actually doing something but I'm not sure if Fujitora will play a huge role here. You picked the wrong side

I'd love to see Sabo vs Fujitora, but Darth won't like the outcome! Hopefully we get to see more of Koala as well, I've taken a liking to her.

I do realize. I'm not delusional. It would be a shame if that amount of build up was wasted though.

Okay, regardless, I don't believe Fujitora is going down. Not on the second NW island anyway. Even at hands of mighty Sabo :ninja:

Can we settle on a draw?
It would be interesting to see how a Logia deals with his ability though, not to mention I want to see more of his power (Fujitora that is).

On a side note real quick, can someone remind me why they didn't just kill Ceasar?

Because he's the only one who can create Smiles (phone answer)

Geneva conventions.

If Law's goal is just to screw Doffy over and pit Kaidou against him then killing CC is the simplest way to do so since Smiles production is guaranteed to stop that way.
But this isn't a dark manga so you can't just have someone the protag is allied with kill people willy nilly. Can you tell us why Luffy hasn't killed anyone yet?
Because Oda thinks that living with your dreams crushed is worse than death.

That was obviously to question TheLord's understanding of the manga, but you took the nicer route. :P

Anyone still want Bart to join the Strawhats as much as I do? Well, I honestly would like Viola to as well.

I do. He seems more like an ally at this point though. He could possibly tag along for the next few arcs. The best contender is Kyros but even he is unlikely.

I dunno if anyone new will be joining the crew anytime soon. As for new people we may tag along, Kanjuro is the obvious answer… hmm.
I don't really want Bart to join. He is fun in small doses, but I have the feeling that his shtick could get rather annoying, rather fast.

I think with a little more character development, and the fanboyism getting toned down a little (maybe not toned down in intensity so much as frequency) by spending time around the Strawhats, he could be a hilarious addition to the crew. I think he'd fit pretty well in the Luffy/Usopp/Brook "silly" dynamic (and given how awesome he already thinks the Strawhats are, I imagine his interactions with Franky would be… super).
I don't actually think that will happen - he seems more like an ally than a future Strawhat to me, but I could see it working well if that's what Oda has in mind for him.
-

True, but it is a possibility. I try to think of it like it's the first half of the grand line. As they venture further into the New World, it's logical that they pick up a few more members on some Islands they go to from time to time. After thriller bark it was impossible because they were all separated. Fishman Island's new nakama was Jinbe. We couldn't get one on punk Hazard because it's a set up arc for Dressrosa. I could see why we would get one in the next few arcs. The Strawhats can't survive the New World with just their current line up.
Kanjuro is the obvious answer.
I honestly forgot about him.

I could see why people would think that. We've already seen what too much gag can do to a character(Sanji). I think he'd be alright if it's not overdone.
-

Anytime soon?
No one has joined for exactly 257 chapters. It's been 2 years since in the OP time.
I hope Kanjuro is really strong. Zoro needs to have a friend on the ship you know
-
@Flipper:

Excluding the 8 friends he already has?
Or did you mean a swordsman friend? Because there's still Kinemon.
-
I mentioned this before but as much as I love Bartolomeo I think having him join the crew would ruin the aspect of his character that is a massive Straw Hat fanboy. If he ended up becoming a Straw Hat then he'd become a part of the very same thing that he worships, and thus he could no longer be a proper fanboy anymore. I feel the exact same way about Hancock; she has a childish infatuation with Luffy that works better when she's separate from his crew. Characters that figuratively kiss the ground that Luffy has walked on are better off staying as allies.
Honestly, I feel like we won't really find out if anyone new will end up joining until the Wano arc. A lot of things are building up to that right now and I'm almost certain that Kaido will be confronted there, and any major additions to the crew will most likely happen after Kaido is taken care of as well. With half of the Straw Hats off doing their own thing, it would be pretty awkward for Luffy to add a new crewmate out of the blue without everyone else knowing about them.
And speaking of which, I'm really anticipating when Kanjuro will finally be revealed. It's going to happen any chapter now and I honestly wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the next chapter featured his big reveal. Obviously we know nothing about him so the debates about whether or not he'd be good crewmate material are fruitless at the moment, but with all the build-up that Oda has been giving him he's going to have to be pretty unique.
-
So many great moments in this arc and it's getting quite long too. Damn I just hope doflamingo gets what he deserves.
-

Yea they're all friends but you don't see Zoro opening up to anyone. He's always sleeping or on the lookout sleeping.
You can notice the groups on the crew.
Usopp, chopper, franky and luffy all laughing and fishing.
Sanji with robin and nami and the occasional brooke . Nami talking with robin sometimes etc
But then we have Zoro that gets into fights with Sanji all the time and doesn't open up to anyone.
He needs someone his level of swordsmanship and can teach each other new skills. If you know what i mean.

That's called Zoro's personality, you know one of those things every SH has that is different from the others. It has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with Zoro not opening up with his crew mates because they aren't swodsman

Kyros would never join SHs he would outshine Luffy and Zoro.
-
What you are referring to is not an arc, it's an entire saga.
If that were "just an arc", it would be the longest arc in the history of One Piece, twice as long as Alabasta or Skypiea, which is ("coincidentally") about as long as the entire Baroque Works saga.
It will probably be an arc that is just split into multiple parts just like water 7 was split into
water 7
