One Piece Chapter 744 - Revolutionary Army Chief Advisor
-
Woah woAH WOAH
[/chaptergasm] -
You just hate Sabo … for your own reason, so you keep argue about Sabo capability, ... And I hate Akainu for my own reason, but I not argue about Akainu capability which make Blackbear Pirate running away from him ...
I hate Sabo because right now he feels like Bleach, or Naruto character, and not One Piece one. Also, because he steals spotlight from actual heroes.
Most Shonen protagonist are more or less sueish in some way or the other. I like One Piece because Luffy is not one of them.
But Sabo feels like it.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@Flipper:
The only way to settle it is Sabo vs Akainu.
I would really much enjoy some magma fist through Sabo's chest right now, yes.
-
Why does the best chapters always come before breaks?
This chapter was fangasm to the max. -
Awesome chapter! I'm glad none of that Law-or-Pika-saved-Doflamingo crap is true.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
And Sabo is number two in the Revolutionary army???! So fucking awesome! Overtaking the likes of Iva-chan without DF, I'm really impressed.
-
You know Sabo getting the mera mera is bad when you begin to like Law more as a character. I guess I have to give Sabo more time characterization, but right now, he is even more Gary Stuish than even Trafalgar. If Sabo fights Fuji this arc, he better lose; otherwise, and he'll be one of my least favorite characters.
-
In all honesty I would have liked it if he hadn't eaten the fruit straight away. Would have preferred a scene where he shows Luffy that he got the fruit and Luffy telling him hecan eat or something along the lines.
But he might have a reason for eating it straight away, we will have to wait and see. His character is still very much a mystery to me.
-
Oh, and we can confirn Hajrudin saven Robin's ass, right? The boulder thing was his doing, right?
God. Damn. It. Oda.
(Though, I kinda discarded the idea that Koala and Robin would get some tag-team action, but now that possibility is right there! Oda, use the force!).
Nope she is the one that stops the boulder.
Him appearing out of nowhere just surprised her and Trebol. -
Looks like people were awfully wrong about Law saving Doflamingo. Weird huh, some people seemed pretty adamant about it in the last chapter thread.
I got the feeling Law is acting a bit weird. I suppose he still doesn't believe Luffy can take on Doflamingo. Or maybe he's afraid Doflamingo controls him if Luffy removes the handcuffs. Unless the handcuffs are preventing Doflamingo from doing awful things with Law I don't see a good reason he wouldn't want them removed.
-

to me it looks like Robin brought this rock from somewhere, hence all the hands in different directions, plus the hand which holds the rock.
It doesn't make sense to create hands everywhere, but not in front of yourself to block his attack -

See? This man understands.
In all honesty, if Fuji loses this arc, I might go off One Piece for a little while out of grief for wasted opportunities. It's still too early for Admiral to fall.
-
They didn't didn't say OP will be on break next week. Can any of the big guns confirm this please.
Oda taking the next week off yes.
I too would've preferred an extra scene instead of him eating mera mera right away. However, we never know it could've been under Dragon's order.
-
jeez this chapter actually made me to post here.
It's been a long time, since I read a chapter without reading spoilers. And…
I wanted to scream it was so fucking insane, bloody awesome.
There was everything in this chapter, and dat fire fist~ and Sabo's face~ and Usopp and that Law and that Doffy~ I want moreee ! -
too hyped to comment something smart, I'll be back.
-
I also like how Ussop suddenly becomes Captain Buggy.
-
potential best battle of the arc. luffy got defeated by the handcuff in marineford, thankfully mr 3 was around.
LoL, you just give me the idea for a new sig.
-
If you have a problem with Luffy not realising Sabo is alive, you should remind yourself that Luffy doesn't care. He has never showed any interest in what's going on in the world. No one could tell him about it either since he never told anyone he had a dead brother.
If you knew some guy at one point of your life and ten years later you hear of a guy with the same first name, would you automatically assume it's the same guy? Why Sabo hasn't contacted Luffy is a whole another deal, though.
-
just realized Kuzan has 2 legs and 2 arms….
-
Oh, interesting thing is that Diamante can also make himself flappy not just things he touch. He will definitely make a difficult opponent to anyone one-on-one.
-
-
-
I'm correct in assuming this is another spectacular mistranslation from Mangastream right?
-

I agree, Luffy does not know who Dragon and what he does. ( remember when Garp told abou Dragon and everyone shocked excluding him and well yeah zorro. xD )

Oda in this weeks chapter shown that Sabo isnt at all Mr nice guy. In fact he was shown by fairly big bit a douchebag. He used Bartolomeo and then Flame Fisted his ass without second thought, not even trying to help him with smallest effort. I know he acknowledged that Barto isnt weakling but still.
As Sabo is plenty strong, has past with Ace and Luffy he isnt nices character from what we are seeing. But its not the point of Sabo character for me.He seems kind of harsh and doing what has to be done, given he is closer to Dragon than Luffy. No wonder his decision haunts him, decision of not going and trying to help save Ace as he probably was dealing with some other "big thing" to help many many people, not only one person even if that was his brother. Sabo probably isnt as selfish as Luffy who didnt cared about all prisoners that escaped from Impel Down and carnage he caused while trying to save Ace. Sabo is doing stuff to change world, to help people. While Luffy is "good pirate" he still caused a lot of harm during series only because of his selfish reasons.
I like that Oda portrayed Sabo in way he did as its more interesting than making him simple and show-off character with some excuses. Weird thing he didnt changed his name after Dragon saved him- I expected that to be reason for Ace and Luffy not hearing about him. Maybe Sabo isnt so well known to public?
Luffy should have been reading newspapers.. He would get to know earlier but Ace really didnt knew? I mean he should, they should have meet up.. Some meeting between Luffy and Sabo at end of arc should bring some more information on it.

[qimg]http://i.imgur.com/QJ0HXjI.png[/qimg]Yup, definitely.
-
One thing I have to say… How can it be that some random fodder knows about Sabo as Nr 2 of the revolutionary army by name... but stupid Ace and Luffy never heard about him... OK Luffy haven't known Dragon either... LOL
But Ace has been that stupid as well?
What makes you think Ace didn't know about Sabo? Sabo even used Ace attack the same name meaning he probably met with Ace after Ace ate his fruit.
-
Huh, didn't expect Sabo to look like that. I suppose it fits his appearance as a child.
-
Doflamingo is a puppet himself driven by the true owner of the DF.
-
Sabo seems to control Ace's fruit quite well even though he just ate it… And birdcage could as many sugested Dofla making a cage of his strings on the whole island or something, I guess it will be Sabo vs the admiral, Luffy and Law or just luffy against Dofla and the rest of the crews against each other.
-
There is so much Sabo hate around here. Why on earth shouldn't Sabo be strong enough to defeat Fuji? Are you saying the No.2 in the almighty revolutionary army shouldn't be able to defeat a marine admiral? That's just based on personal dislike towards a character seeing as the revolutionaries are supposed to be strong enough to overthrow entire kingdoms…
And the theory that Robin should know about Sabo being alive? Why the hell not? She could have been close friends with him for all we know but just never knew he was Luffy's brother the same way hardly anyone in the world knew Ace and Luffy were brothers.
All this talk of Sabo easily taking control of Ace's fruit seems a bit outlandish to me aswell, the attack Sabo used seems like quite a wild outburst of fire in a given direction the same way BB used the tremor fruit quite wildly at marineford with no real control putting his own crew at risk.
-
So Im the only one that thinks Sabo is classy and a good looking individual?

Why would Sabo fight Issho in the first place?

At the time I'm writing this, I actually find Fujitora to be more sympathetic character than Sabo.
And funny thing is, if Sabo truly is Dragon's right hand man, then boy Revolutionaries are underprepared for making the world a better place.
Let's say they even overthrow the goverment. What exactly is their plan for dealing with Yonkou? Cause I don't exactly see them as capable of protecting anyone at this point…
-
If Sabo was climbing through the ranks with the RA, he's name will be out there and Ace will be aware of it. I find it difficult to believe Ace did not know Sabo is alive, my question is why didn't Ace share that info with Luffy?
Simple answer is that pirates and revolutionaries are two different factions. They don't have interest with each other. The only group that concerns both is the WG.

MS version is out.

No chill ITT people are jumping the gun just wait for Sabo to explain himself we dn't even know what his status/situation was pre-time skip.
So this chapter. So many things happened maybe too many things. Sabo seemed very strong already so am not sure how I feel about him eating the fruit but as long as he retains his current fighting style and doesn't end up invincible I'm alright with it. We can't be sure Sabo didn't inform Luffy of his intentions with the fruit since we din't see much of their interaction and the next thing we know they had already separated with Luffy's stating that they dn't need to worry about the fruit anymore.
About Sabo being cocky we've barely seen anything about the dude so am not going to pronounce myself on his personality just yet but yes as said above I do like that he dsn't seem to be Mr nice guy either, none of the brothers were. Boy was I off about his looks good to finally see his face! Number two of the revolutionary already though is that translation correct?Hope Oda shows more of the qualities that made him worthy over Iva and all the other veterans during this arc because wow.
Godsop. Lol I always thought this would happen much later in the mangas so it took me by surprise. Since I wasn't too happy with the events leading to it (predictable run away and back scene and the offpanelled fight) it dsn't have the impact I wish it had, plus Oda could have used something else than the God worshiping a la Buggy too but oh well finally it's happening. Exciting chapter overall looking forward to the next events(can we see how Sanji's group is coping already).
-
Oh God, not reading the spoilers was the best decision ever. This chapter was balls out great.

So was Blackbeard. And Crododile, for that matter. And Doflamingo. And random commander of Big Mom. And many, many, many other people.
Hell, Luffy himself overthrow a kingdom. Drum. And that was at the beginning of his journey. I do not find that to be especially great feat.
Also, lol at "almighty revolutionary army".
-
man this is such a downer :(( . But good thing about OP is how much it packs in a single chapter. It feels like 1 page of OP = 1 chap of bleach lol.
P.S: any news on powermanga scanlation of chap 743?? I hope they get a good translator to replace CCC soon
What happened to CCC?
Anyway awesome chapter! I don't like Sabo's hair that much but that Hiken was beautiful.
Like other already said, please Oda stop the anti-hype against the Blackbeard pirates. It's a bit annoying but I'm glad that Sabo got the fruit. It'd been ok too if Burgess would have gotten it.Usopp = God. LOL I had my good laugh there.
And are there any solid theories on what the birdcage is?
-
MS version is out.
I encourage absolutely no one to read this translation
-
Must be just me, but Sabo's face looks a bit like Coby's.
-
I wonder if the birdcage is a Room with strings radiating from the top central part of the dome, along its sides to the ground. Kinda looks like a birdcage to me.
-

For me it seems that at cost of being sympathetic Sabo is somebody who does right things as harsh as it might look from outside. Strict actions, rather cold approach to doing stuff that needs to be done.
Kind of like with Sengoku If I would have to compare it with somebody. Also Revolutionaries are more into protecting whole countries instead of some single individuals. I would say that the way they presumably act puts them in the grey zone- between Luffy like good(help people and beat bad guys) and Akainu Marines(whatever has to be done in name of justice).
Its more interesting that way. If things would be more black and white it would be more boring for me to read it in long run. -
sabo actually ate it
holy shit -
Probably because Sabo rises to his position today after Ace's death.
-
@Flipper:
So Im the only one that thinks Sabo is classy and a good looking individual?
NO.
my favourite part was when he smashed the ring and jumped over with haki hands to open the chest.
-
@Flipper:
The only way to settle it is Sabo vs Akainu.
Yes in the end, I feel this will happen that Sabo will burn Akainu use MMnM power + insane HAKI.
-
Two great chapters in a row :D
One Piece is back :DSabo was epic this chapter. Destroying the arena, getting rid of the enemies, catching the fruit, eating it, then using the Fire Fist. Couldn't get any better :D
His look is awesome and he is 2nd in command, that is great. He really is so strong and now + mera mera… :O
I'm thinking Sabo will help Luffy bring down Kaidou next. I want Sabo to kick more ass :PAs for Doflamingo, I just read the Mangastream translation, and it says that Dofla has already used the birdcage. His head is cut and I think there are only two possibilities: 1. He is logia and 2. Law's Devil Fruit.
Since Law is in kairoseki, I think the possibility is that Doflamingo has an ability to control other people's devil fruits in the area close to him. That is a theory I read here, and I think it is quite possible. This means Doffy used Law's fruit to cut his head, and now he is gonna cause a ruckus all around that room :D -
@MJR.:
They got Dragon for a Yonkou.
Are you telling me that Dragon and Sabo would capable enough to take on entire Yonkou crew? Cause I think not.
Also, hillarious that Yonkou are evidently the strongest people in the world until Dragon is brought up…
For me it seems that at cost of being sympathetic Sabo is somebody who does right things as harsh as it might look from outside. Strict actions, rather cold approach to doing stuff that needs to be done.

Its more interesting that way. If things would be more black and white it would be more boring for me to read it in long run.See, the problem I have with this is that we already have a grey faction: Marines. And, going to be quite honest with you, both design wise, and character wise, I find them more interesting.
Plus, Sabo seems grey, but I'm not entirely sure it was Oda's intention here. And I'm not entirely sure he is going to be treated like he is acting like that in universe…

We don't know what their over all plan is yet, but eventually we cna expect the 4 Emperor's are gonna start taking each other out. Kaidou is preparing for something with his army of zoans, Blackbeard for the past 2 years has been on a DF hunt, and Big Mom well forget about her, i think her time is at an end pretty soon. Shanks really doesn't come into this because he's 1 of the "good" guys, and would prolly be more sympathetic to the Revolutionary cause given his ties with Roger/Luffy etc
