The last episode sucked, but other than that it was a really good series which I enjoyed a lot.

There is an April fools joke at the series official page.
Anyone cares to translate?

That second one! Hahahahahaha!!
And the cover's voice is so close to the original, whoa.
The series finale was very satisfying. There's still a few minor questions left unanswered (Like what happened to Rei?), but I had a lot of fun with this show from beginning to end.
And it was pretty much inevitable that a show that focuses on nudity and clothing would end with all of the main cast butt naked. lol
Welcome, Kill la Kill, to my anime favorites list.
I look forward to Imaishi and Nakashima's next collaboration.

His ending was ruined by the fact he was cockblocked in such an epic fashion.

Cockblocked by what? :wassat:
Yeah, that's one of the most glorious parodies i've seen.
Haven't chuckled that much over this concept since i saw the PG trailer for 300.
so we only get the extra episode if we buy the DVDs?

That would be the case if the Internet didn't exist.
actually when is the extra episode going to be released? the info i've found is confusing

September .
That was a friendship date I might point out.

Kill la Kill was the first anime I followed on a weekly-basis from beginning to the end, and it was totally worth it !
And whatever everyone say or whatever happen in the extra episode, Ryuko x Mako is totally canon for me. Sure, Gama x Mako is cute and all, but it feel less meaningful in the end for me.
kill la kill has no romance, even panty and stocking found a way to incorporate romance. So of course no pairings happening is a big deal for some people
I finished watching Kill la Kill a few days ago. It was really awesome, I love how crazy and epic it was, stuffed with so many likable and interesting characters.
The finale was also really satisfiyng IMO. But Senketsu's death still hurts ;__;
@Rolor:

I'm totally with you on this, I really love Ryuko x Mako <3
^Hahaha. Oh wow.
So that ending was fun. A bit disappointing since Ryuuko didn't get a full outfit when she went super saiyan (since there was no reason for it to cover as little as possible anymore), but otherwise awesoeme.

Could you enlighten us? To my knowledge, Japan is still on the homophobia train when it comes to legit pairings (not fanservice) unless you're talking about this.
Just the "deito" thing that supposed experts in japanese use to debunk the whole thing. In modern day, it's actually used in romantic context too. So…
That, the writers of this show really does not seem to care very much for homophobia(Re:Cutie Honey, and other simlair stuff for example) so it's kinda lame to just say it's an inherent thing.
So.Ship whatever.
Second OST is out and eargasm is all I can say about it!
The entire album:
Track 1 is the best version of Before My Body is Dry. Sounds great. The nudistbeach theme is great, too. Some great theme in general. Might find the series pretty flawed, but the OST is great.
Tabun LASTBOSS is a very fitting name for such a song.
They got Nonon perfectly, I'm surprised.
Just watched that trailer a few minutes ago. Nonon is great, and so is Mako. But IMO they botched Senketsu (where's the deep voice?) and I'm not convinced about Ryuuko either.
The Satsuki voice sounded super flat her speech at the begging sounded so lame. And Senketsu sounds better with a deep voice. The elite 4 all sounded pretty good though.
Pigs in human clothing
I'm surprised they chose to translate that directly.
So the sets are only going to contain 4 episodes each? At that price too?
:T Uhhh…
Welcome to Aniplex
Selling it 4 eps per set or 2 sets in total like funimation for a cheaper price would probably get them the same amount of money. Especially since this show is very popular in the us as well. They will get the hardcore crowd who is willing to spend the money sure, but many fans will probably not spend the amount who would have gladly done it.
Just watched all 24 episodes of the series on Netflix two days ago. To be honest, it was one of the strangest action anime I have ever seen yet it's still kinda awesome. I'm quite eager to watch the dub version now, especially after seeing the trailer! :D
They got Nonon perfectly, I'm surprised.
Not available in my country… well, fuck you too, uploader.
Holy crap it's like Nonon has the same voice actress. Maybe she's bilingual :ninja:
Saw the OVA today and I loved it.
! Lots of great Satsuki scenes, I'm happy! No IraMako but lots of RyuMako scenes and Nonon is still very gay for Satsuki. The animation was either really well done or just lazy as fuck, same about the art - some scenes were just perfect and in others the characters looked almost incognizable. Lots of recycled shots too and Jesus Christ the CGI was terrible. Other than that it was awesome, particularly enjoyed Gurren Honnouji (I KNEW IT) and the two Hallelujah moments.
It was btw confirmed that the devas are going seperate ways after graduation, only Nonon will stay with Satsuki and help her create a better world. Don't know what the others are doing though, Uzu is going to do something with Kendo and Nonon will be the heir of Jakuzure Corporation, that's all I understood. Maybe someone can help? I'd also love to know what Satsuki said in the scene where she cut her hair.
Ok now I'm hyped for the ova.
! Gurren Honnouji??? THE THEORIES WERE RIGHT
I liked the OVA. The last action sequence looked great and the characters were fun.
It's been a while the series has ended, but I think my biggest problems with it still remain, I felt it was too fast paced (you can have frantic stuff, but it was too much to me at points), also some of the nudity stuff just went overboard, especially with Ragyo and Satsuki and the couple stupid rape-y jokes in the beginning of the series. The series did not do a good job with the nudity stuff at all, upon reflection. Doesn't mean the characters still weren't fun, even if there were some I was iffy about. I still also appriciate that while the animation could look really bad at points, other times they were creative with their animation shortcuts.
I don't really get "too fast paced" considering it's inexplicably self aware, but I've already defended that several months ago and I feel talking about that now is like digging up an old grave. Still one of my favorite anime series this year.
Looking forward to watching the OVA. Is the subs out yet? I might find one myself, but if anyone does… Pass a link! It might help anyone else that's looking for it.
It's just still a little too much for me, self-aware or not. I do think it does it's fast pace a lot better in the latter half of the series, there's just something about how jarring comedic and serious scenes seemed as a result of it to me and it bugs me.
Is the subs out yet? I might find one myself, but if anyone does… Pass a link! It might help anyone else that's looking for it.
Yeah subs are out, here you go: http://www.goodanime.net/kill-la-kill-special
! So Satsuki actually didn't mind dying by Rei's hands? Wow.
Thanks!
Finished the OVA. Really good stuff. I was sort of expecting some character driven epilouge, but man. This show really has its own way of doing just that. Sending things off by destroying thier own school in an over-the-top(and symbolic) fashion just too good. Can't wait for Studio Trigger's next project. Little Witch Academia 2 is one, but I'm more looking forward to see them produce a huge variety of things as ambitious and out-there like Kill la Kill. It's exactly along with my line of taste in animation :3
Gonna save up for the BR sets now.
Really enjoyed the episode as well. Sad to see the series is finally over.
After seeing the episode I realize that Trigger went more conventional as long as the series kept going. Its not that it turned out to be a bad series but it laked the surprise and crazy factor of the first episodes. At least they could have gone a little wild on the special chapter but no luck there either.
I guess that anime wasnt saved this time but we still have Ninja Slayer to look forward to.
Trigger will save anime, even if it takes years!
! Gurren Honnouji!!!! Oh man, when we saw the academy in episode 1 about 11 months ago, someone on 4chan mentioned how the academy building looked like a giant mecha–-so the hype was almost a year in the making. It was so satisfying to see something like this, as much as I love Gurren Lagann. Damn, I'm gonna miss this show, even if never hit the same highs as TTGL.
Just after watching this I realized that it ended. It freaking ended. I'll miss Kill la Kill.
