Archer has been nominated for best show. That means that all is well in the cosmos.

Archer and Gravity Falls are all I need to see up there.
-
I had all but forgotten that gravity falls existed. Shame on me.
That clip just slays me.
-
There can be only one.
And it takes a cop from hell with a heart of gold and a skull of fire to carry that weight.
-
King Cannon, got to hand it to you … you're fantastic at nominating things I completely forgot and would have nominated if I hadn't.

I was actually going to nominate Miley Cyrus MTV twerking too, but you beat me to it :P

The first three people all wanted to nominate the exact same story? Think we already have the "winner" of that award decided. It's a shame Bieber's arrest doesn't qualify. Because this…
This is just pathetic. And yeah, there's always the 2014 awards, but just like the Oscars, no one remember the stuff that came out almost a whole year before.
-
Someone post lame news story suggestions here because I know there have been tons of great ones but I don't remember them.
Paula Deen lawsuit, Rob Ford crack cocaine scandal, Obamacare website crash…

If you really want to nominate a Justin Bieber story, then you could go with his sexual episode in my country.

@Toraish:
Thanks for posting, GJardim. I was almost headed for bed when I remembered I was supposed to get things moving along again here.
No problem. Someone has to keep the order around here.

Yes. Just yes.
-
I couldn't live without nominating this one, especially thinking that may not have been nominated at all
Oh Yamato 2199, why must you get so little hype ? You who are well-written and well-paced, with great characters, you who are with great production values, you who show everyone how a remake should be, you who are the remake of one of the most influential classics in the history of Japanese animation, why must you go on underhyped so ?–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Phew, made it just in time!

^have to see that one day.

Conspiracy theories are just conspiracy theories, but this man made a huge sacrifice for all of us!
-
LOL at Snowden while Chelsea Manning suffers in Fort Leavenworth.
@Chat:
i just … dont wish to be a part of it ... at least not now ... im not ready ...
i wouldn't mind going to prison for the rest of my life, or being executed so much, if it wasn't for the possibility of having pictures of me ... plastered all over the world press ... as [a] boy … -

quick question, has anyone else had trouble following that link for Beyoncé's publicist story? I tried following it and got a warning of a virus.
It's alright for me. I tried to take it from a decent website, I guessed Telegraph would be ok. But here's a BBC link that don't really focus on it, but makes mention of it http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/21373659. I ask to change, if necessary, the link of my nomination to this one.

ah thanks :)
-
I don't get any alerts visiting the website and the Telegraph is definitely a safe source, so it's probably been an ad or something that has caused it. I'll change the link in any case just to be sure.

These last few categories seem like they never end.
-
I'd say it's time to just move on. It's been days.
-
It's always like this. People just are way more interested in the thread and poster categories than anything else, although I must admit I'm kind of confuddled at the lack of funny or actually interesting news stories this year. Those two are usually categories that fill up quite fast.
Also, I think I made a slight mistake at some point starting to roll with more category than two at a time. It seemed to split the attention and lessen the eagerness of nominating anything.

This too. In fact, I'll just do it now. The sooner we get to voting the better.

Bam. All four remaining regular categories are now open. That includes all three gaming categories as well as the Best Series of Videos award.
-
What do you guys mean by Best Video or Series of Videos?
Like Youtube Videos?
Can it be any singular video or series as long as it's on Youtube, or does it have to fall within a specific criteria/standard?
-
The name is pretty straightforward. Best video or series of videos posted on Youtube or on some other online video service during the year 2013.
… personally, I think it's a very weird category, but we've been getting decent results with it so this is how we roll.
-
Now which of the many great "man getting hit in the groin" videos should i nominate

I'm probably going to go with this:
!
Because, you know, Norway. -
Nah documentaries are no good. For one thing people rarely get smacked in the balls in them.
-
Their educational value is invaluable, though. It's not every day you see a Norwegian skate without tumbling down after the first two strides.
-
So one person nominated like four video games in one post, even with two categories … kind of ambivalent about what to do because I can nominate other stuff but am afraid two of those will get cancelled out due to each person having one nomination per category (right?)
So yea, I'm confused.

Got a little over zealous, sorry. There's just too many good games this year!

Agreed. Wait, what was your console nomination? I can nominate that if you want that way the choices all still get in.
-
Just wondering if Rune Factory 4 can be nominated? Japan release was in 2012 but NA is 2013 and PAL is never getting it now.
-
Yeah, it can. We're going by US releases.
-
Nah documentaries are no good. For one thing people rarely get smacked in the balls in them.
Documentaries are one of the few forms of film that can actually have a profound impact on me anymore.
For example, Self-Made Man was one of the very best films I saw in the last year, and it actually affected the way that I feel about myself.
And How to Survive a Plague >>> Dallas Buyers Club.
-
That was Scandinavian joking, Crys. He's very good at it. (I laughed out loud when I read that) :P
-
Figures somebody would nominate X/Y and Link Between Worlds already. Again my nominations are taken! :P
-
Woops, my bad. I'm a hipster and I still call it by its original name so I missed it. D:
-
Where's our entire PC master race gone?
-

Bwahahahahaaaaa…
I'm only doing this because Jabra did it to me.
-
I'm genuinely surprised that no one has yet to nominate Bioshock Infinite for Console Game of the Year.
Still hoping Tomb Raider takes home the award title though.
-
Infinite is so vastly overrated that it's not even funny, though. :P
It's another case of a pretty good big budget game being treated like it was a veritable gaming epic worthy of all the praise in the world because the standards of the community are lower than they probably could be. Yeah, the story is cool, albeit still not as brilliant as touted, but the gameplay (read: gunplay) is just laborious and not very interesting from what I've heard and seen.

and the twist ending (for me) was just so incredibly bleurrrgh…

Yyyyeaah, I wasn't super into that either. I mean, I guess it's cool in a way, but it was just… an easy way out in a sense. The whole thing was like, "oh now this is getting insane... oh it's getting even more insane... how are they going to explain all this in the end? Oh..."

Also the fact that
! The Songbird went the Iron Man 3 Mandarin route and wasn't even near the actual threat level he posed in-game that he was built up as in the promotional trailers, combined with the psuedo-psychological multi-parallel universe ending (which was very convoluted at best) really brought the overall expeirence/enjoyment down in my eyes.
-
Seeing Pikmin 3 being the first nominee makes me a happy person.

PC Game of the Year: Europa Universalis 4
I can totally get behind this. Got it on the Steam Winter Sale, and it's kept me very entertained thus far. The lack of concrete victory conditions is a bit hard to get used to, but it's a nice experience even without them.
