Sure, I can try. While we are at that, can you replace the Melk the Second profile pic for the previous one? She hardly looks like herself. In the manga she has her usual hairdo.

hmm. i can try that. it's just that the previous pic was very small, so we wanted a change. btw, are any of those (in the links) better than the current and previous ones?

Either of the two will do better, specially the second :D
-keeps reading Toriko, looking for more foreshadowing-

It's still the worst anime adaption I have ever seen, though. No exaggeration.
Have you seen the Eyeshield 21 adaption?
-
Another thing. Not foreshadowing nor very relevant, but still

T](http://www.batoto.net/read/_/38969/toriko_ch115_by_hi-wa-mata-noboru/6)oriko mentions Melk Mountain is 4.000 mts tall, or, 20.000 steps.
That would make each step 25cm high. I want to imagine he´s refering to normal steps for normal staircases, because we can clearly see that each of these carved steps are at least 1 mt tall. (also I think 25cm is too much even for normal steps… maybe his house has stairs for a Toriko sized person)

Keep in mind that the staircase is on a slope and curves back and forth so it'd be longer than four kilometers.
-
Toriko made the calculations on the spot, I´m sure he wasn´t able to see all the path of the staircase from the bottom of the mountain. So we really can´t tell how he came to that result.

Have you seen the Eyeshield 21 adaption?
I didn't. But you know what, if you really think it's worse than recent Toriko I will give it an awful try. Any specific recommendations?
Started rereading Toriko and found that two of the ingredients that the townspeople were showing to cheer up Toriko in the latest chapter were showed way earlier in the story.

Ugh. Yeah the Eyeshield anime hurts…I love Hiruma and he got dicked out of one of his more epic moments for Sena non canon junk.
Toriko at least seems to stay on track more and not constantly recycle animation practically every episode.
Worst offense is the characters not really reflecting Murata's style that well.

Wait a second, Eyeshield is from Murata? The guy who illustrates One Punch Man? I didn't give it a try because it's a manga about football (…) but if it has Murata's art I don't give a shit what it's about. Thanks!

Yup. Although he was the artist, not the author. Check my sig for my number 1 Hiruma lol.

I didn't know jack about football either, but if you have even the slightest room in your heart for underdog stories, its a fun and lighthearted ride with memorable characters (made so much more memorable by DAT ART).
Just stop at the final White Knights game and pretend thats the finale.
-
I actually got into football because of that manga. It explained a lot of the rules I found confusing. Naw keep going till the end of the Christmas bowl against the Alexander something or others.
-
i'd say continue till the end of the manga/anime. why? cause hiruma's there. just read and watch for Hiruma :)
-
The world match was weird. But I suppose it's not the worst ending for a series cough cough air gear cough

Really? I can find lots of stuff to like in the Dinosaurs game, like Kuratas big shining moment (though its still a subpar final game compared to its predecessors), but the Alexanders game was just so…meh. The opposing team had very little flavor. The conclusion was great though, and still better than the weird epilogue World Tournament

Yeah, I liked the Dinosaurs match for Hiruma's big moment lol. The Alexander match wasn't terrible and I was sort of glad that the White Knights weren't the end just for a change of pace. I didn't really care too much about thw WK team characters. Although it's funny now to look back and see character overlaps between OPM and Eyeshield.
-
The Alexanders main problem was that they appeared wayyyyy too late to have the game have any weight. Getting to the christmas bowl had huge meaning, but winning it-and beating that particular team…not so much. Unlike the Knights, where the rematch was brewing for years on end.

Talks of Murata and or Hiruma trump previous discussions.

Yeah. The kind people of the Toriko thread give advice on how to bridge the month-long break.
I'm at chapter 21 at the moment, loving it. Kurita is awesome and I can't wait till they kick Ryu & Ken's ass!
-
Eyeshield 21 has their own topic IIRC.
Also, is cool and all that you want to keep this topic active, but it´s pointless if you are gonna talk about other mangas.
As for Toriko, I´m currently on the day 17=volume 17. So far I didn´t found much that I haven´t seen on previous rereads, but whatever I found I kept adding or commenting it on the wiki.

thanks a bunch, pal. much appreciated.
can't wait for next episode, coco vs grin. seems they'll extend the fight with filler scenes (which would be awesome if they do it right).

Listen to Skadi, this is his personal thread.

Her personal thread.
His, actually :)

Exactly, HIS.
Say whatever you want, but if it´s not Toriko related say it elsewhere. This is not my thread, not even my forum, but I think most people here can relate with me when I say that if I see activity on the Toriko topic, I am expecting to see Toriko related activity.

I was looking at the old chapters of this manga, and realized how inconsistent this manga has been.
From the Battle Wolf being caged against super weak beats, Manzan not being able to destroy a GT robo pyloted by a weakling, getting hit by his attacks. To everything really, when you look at the old chapters on other mangas, many times it's concistent, but seems like in this case he didn't plan ahead a lot and just went and changed as it moved foward, ended up with silly powerlevels and characters that are supposed to be powerful not being that way early on.
I still hope to see that one of the 8 kings of the world is a Devil Serpent.

Acacia already confirmed that the Devil Serpent isn't one of the eight kings.

Nah, man. Mother Battle wolf was probably too weak cause she was pregnant, thus was caged. and we don't even know who caught it… maybe it's ichiryuu himself or mansam at full power.
Mansam wasn't anywhere near serious when hitting Bei. It doesn't matter if the Robo was a weakling or not, since he was piloting a GT Robo with a hard body.
Not saying the manga's perfect, but those points r nowhere near inconsistent imo. -

Even with extra considerations, the Battle Wolf part early in the story looks really bad now. The explanation of "Oh it was a clone so it was weaker" doesn't really hold water when you consider just how insanely OP Battle Wolves are being portrayed now. More than that, why in gods name would they ever clone a Battle Wolf and put it in a facility like that? Knowing that it's not just a gourmet world monster (which even the lowest level can cause massive issues for the human world), but a top tier gourmet world monster that only 3 people in the world have a chance against.
The original full course menus seem badly planned at this point as well. Probably has a lot to do with how Toriko hasn't added anything since the Century Soup, because his early additions before that don't make much sense in bigger context of the series now. Capture Levels go up to 6.5-7k+ and Toriko has a level 12 dessert? Go figure.

The fullcourse decided doesn't have to be something strong. Even Brunch, who's living in the gourmet world, has some "unkown" capture levels, and a "72" capture level ingredient. Even if he didn't plan that far back then, Brunch appeared at the festival, and the "unknowns" in his menu oughta be some high-level ingredients.
I just mean that a Menu doesn't necessarily have to have high levels… the taste is what matters. -
So according to you having low level ingredients in your Full Course = baddly planned? Since when Toriko chooses based on the capture level? What you just said makes no sense at all.
Also, before you say Mitsutoshi doesn't plan things in advance, remember the Devil Serpent? It was said to be the legendary enemy of the Battle Wolf, and just a few chapters later after this statement, one Devil Serpent got crushed by one pregnant, weakened Battle Wolf. Over 200 chapters later we would learn through Acacia that that serpent wasn't even fully grown and that the adult Devil Serpent can become as strong as one of the Eight Kings.
The series isn't perfect, no series is, but cmon, if you want to complain on something try to be a bit more specific, because that just doesn't work. Toriko and the other kings choose their ingredients based on the taste, not on the capture level. It has been this way since chapter 1.

The battle wolf was a clone that had never been in naturally wild conditions nearly as harsh as the Gourmet World at all. It could have been a real capture level 120 or something like that, but without growing and surviving in the gourmet World from its infancy to adulthood, fulfilling its potential, the clone would never be nearly as powerful as a real Battle Wolf who has grown strong enough to be a King of Gourmet World, and that's a level that Mansam can perfectly control.
As for why they used the Battle Wolf in the arena, it was simply because they knew people would go crazy if a Battle Wolf was there and spend even more money, especially considering the legend of the Battle Wolf and the Devil Serpent.
As for the Devil Serpent, Acacia has said that even though the Devil Serpent is not one of the eight Kings, there's a type or species of Devil Serpent that can grow strong enough to rival the Kings, which fully supports the legend of the Battle Wolf and the Devil Serpent.

looks like sunny's fight will be animated well, and it won't be dragged + there seems to be at least some blood :) awesome
-
Well it is one of the best fights in the series…
-
Now let's see if Sunny finishes Tommyrod off like is portrayed in the manga or they choose to skip all the bloodfest and go directly to the devouring part.
-

While I don't agree with capture level reasoning, I can kind of see where Zp1 is coming from.
For a while, it's been said in Toriko that ingredients in the gourmet world are more delicious, and yet Toriko and crew already have several things on their full course. My problem with this is not the fact that they have low human world ingredients on their full course, it's the fact that they put them on there without even tasting any ingredients from the Gourmet world yet. What happens if Toriko discovers something far superior to the Rainbow fruit in gourmet world, or Sani runs into something better than one of those beauty ingredients he has already put on his full course? (of course, for story purposes, we know that wont happen, and personally I can't imagine anything topping the rainbow fruit)
-

Precisely. If the spots are already filled is simply because they won't find nothing that is tastier than what they already got. Even if this is Gourmet World we are talking about.
If I could eat the Rainbow Fruit I would order one every day.
-
What if Gourmet World also has Rainbow Fruit but tastier ?
-
What if Gourmet World also has Rainbow Fruit but tastier ?
Then he wouldn't be replacing an ingredient for another, he would be upgrading an ingredient he already had with an identical one with a higher capture level.
-
What if Gourmet World also has Rainbow Fruit but tastier ?
Rainbow Fruit+?
Actually, a while back I was wondering if Rainbow Fruits actually originated in the Gourmet world, since there apparently only one Rainbow Fruit tree in Human world. Wondering about Regal mammoths as well.
-
Yeah, that's what I was getting at.
That would also solve the complaint.
-
Rainbow Fruit+?

Well, the thought is true in a certain extent. The BB Corn is an ingredient you can find in both worlds, but is obviously better and tastier in Gourmet World.
-
and maybe the author will introduce some gourmet world "spices" that make whatever he has in his course tastier than all what gourmet world has :)
-
Whats the chance that once they reach the recent chapter they are going to take a break from the show? Not like it actually matter…and also I am guessing they will never return w/ DB Kai right, they can do that while it is away
-
@Jedi:

It's a long-running anime, so it depends on the ratings to live. And if they take a long break, maybe they'll fear it may drop.
They didn't add fillers before the festival (they added only 2 episodes) when it was their best chance. And one of the filler episodes didn't rank in the top 10, so maybe they feared more drop. No idea at all, as i'm nowhere near knowledgeable in this :)There were also some rumors in japanese blogs about some anime called "Majinbon" taking Toriko's timeslot next April, but nothing's out regarding it yet. It might've been possible if they went with like 3 chaps per episode since January started, but they're still going normal or slow, so I kinda doubt it. And even if that rumor were true, they may just move Toriko to a new timeslot (which i doubt). So ya, the chance is there, and it would be cool if they took a break and increased the budget or something, but I doubt it.
