Okay, more to say than usual since this is all new stuff. First of all, there is definitely a very good team working on this. While there is certainly some funky artwork, there is some great direction in this with some very lively expressions and movement.
But what's this? Canon material mixed in? Tsk tsk tsk. Sure, it's only about a page worth of content but still. And they didn't even bother to include the Owlfish, which was definitely suppose to show during that scene.
The Dugong plot is cute. Apparently, this filler introduces the three new animal species– Sea Lapahns, and hominid penguins and .... wombats? Also, this clinches that piracy is no longer just something humans and Fishmen are involved in. Now even the friggin animal kingdom is leading pirate crews as far as the New World. The Marines definitely have their work cut out for them.
Breed is certainly and interesting sort of villain that knows his limitations but he seems to have lucked out a bit here. Chopper getting hit right off and Luffy not only preventing Law from using his "win button" room ability, one I'm sure Breed would have been completely unable to avoid, but distracting him enough to get tagged by Breed. And CC too? Looks like the rest of the crew will have to come to the rescue (and Kinemon & Son too). This certainly doesn't instill one confidence of how well the Dressrosa mission will go fellas. The one big flaw is that his ability is way too close to DD's to the point that DD might actually come across as a copycat to uninitiated anime-only viewers.
Lastly, what's with the heavy use of stills at the very end, even while Breed was laughing? Did the last 30 seconds have to get rushed out the door because the episode was about to miss its deadline?
Otherwise this is a better than average filler episode. The plot is kinda stupid but this episode was very entertaining at any rate. Hopefully the next two keep this kind of momentum going.
