Y](http://www.batoto.net/read/_/195449/toriko_ch250_by_hi-wa-mata-noboru)up, this chapter was as good as the scans indicated. The art was great, Midora's ability wasn't nearly as hax as it seemed, and Midora's flashback was much needed, quite well done, and not looking to end either.
! Yes but you know, lost limbs aren't that important in the Torikoverse and we're talking about the strongest.
Yes the probability of him dying is very high (way too high even), but he'll go down with a bang for sure.
! The fact is Ichiryuu lost a big portion of his torso too. How can he survive after this, considering he seems to be at Midora's mercy now?
He could use a Dark Technique?
So Ichiryuu acted like I thought: if Midora escaped Minority World trying to kill himself, Ichiryuu could always release Minority World and let his little brother die. But that didn't work too. So no now Ichiryuu can't move without being wrecked apart. Now I think he will commit "suicide" trying to land one last blow to Midora and this will end with him bieng devoured and Midora launching "Meteor Spice".
The flashback of Midora is quite interesting. I think it will continue at least another chapter.
Again, I believe it's impossible for Toriko (or anybody at the same level) to catch up Midora or Ichiryuu (or Jirou) because they're too superior.
The evidence Ichiryuu is going to die is so high I'm expecting a plot twist.
Again, I believe it's impossible for Toriko (or anybody at the same level) to catch up Midora or Ichiryuu (or Jirou) because they're too superior.
They shouldn't. Those three were centuries older and experienced than any of the characters known. Though it was said Sta was next to his boss, the difference on their powers could be thousands fold apart. I see no one other than Setsuno being close to their tiers… and Joa... and the master that revived the majinbuu beast.
There's one way, and that is to eat Acacia's Full Course. But that sounds like an endgame power up, and I very much doubt Midora will be the final villain.
I want to see kid Jirou now.
I think Jirou was raised up by Acacia when he was already an adult, maybe something like Mansam with Ichiryuu or similar.
This fight is being realy boring(come on guys punch something) for me and once again the beasts are becoming a joke.
I hope in the future the nitros change that.(it also doesn't look good to then either).
Now the flashback is interesting, hope it makes at least a little interested on Midora because right now he's as entertaining as Starjun.
Good chapter, but I'm seriously worried for Ichiryuu D:
Thanks to kewl still apply :D
and once again the beasts are becoming a joke.
Those beast are joke for THOSE TWO, maybe the most powerful creatures (not only humans) of the entire series.
Think about it: the potential of Terry far exceeds Capture Level 1000, don't be surprised some Capture Level 205 beasts are nothing in front of someone of Midora or Ichiryuu caliber.

Those beast were minding their own bussiness withouth a care in the world and those two just chop then that's not fair.:ninja:
joking aside, i know you right but still gives me a bad taste in my mouth, maybe because of the huge jumping on the numbers.
So sorry about that.
I think that chapters confirmed for once and all that Frohze was indeed a woman, it was clear before but now it's beyond doubt I guess
Yeah level 205 are nothing and honestly monsters level 1000 are also nothing for characters like midora/Ichiryu/Jirou, like Ichiryu beted 3 level 6xx with 2 fingers… so with a little more effort he can beat level 1000 easily... I think we will reach till level 10.000 or even more, or maybe at some point there will be no level for monsters out category
Anyway i loved this beginning of FB man that was awesome^^ (and THAT cliffhanger), but the fight i still didn't find the event that can make my jaw drop even thought they are top-tier characters... the fight so far is ok
I can't imagine which Capture Level can reach an adult Mother Snake, matching the circunference of the planet with its lenght.
The times when Four Beast fought against Quinn ancestors were the times when it was devoured in the shortest time
It's nice that hunger space is not as broken as it could be. You just need eye reflexes and memory to remember where tongue had passed. The caliber of those reflexes on the other hand is completely different story. And to me, it looks like Ichiryuu is sinking the fight on purpose. It's like he wants to be killed.
I just can't shake off this thing, especially since Joa/Frohze was shown. Remember after ozone herb delivery, Ichiryuu says that Toriko and Komatsu have the same atmosphere about them as Frohze and Acacia. Now that it's set that Frohze is woman, this firstly usual (for Toriko) overtone becomes especially wink wink. Not that it changes anything, but I just wanted to post it.
This has got to be one of the most retarded arguments I 've read so far. Going by your biased logic, no series feels like in its earliest, am I right? Take a look around you, and tell me how are Ichiryuu and Midora's abilities any different from the stuff the strongest characters of other series have shown so far. Moreover, overexageratted feats have been a constant in Toriko since day one!
Beyond stupid is your terrible use of any solid argumentation. You are the only one here who jumped the shark!
And thanks for not hiding what you just said in a spoilers tag, now people who prefer waiting for the scanlation will read your stuff, dumbass.
First of all everything I said was about scanlated chapters, I hate spoilers myself and I don't read them, so I couldn't possibly spoil someone else. Second why are you attacking me like this? I moved some criticism to the series, not to yourself. Calm down. Thank you for reminding me why I post on Arlong Park once in a blue moon, no offense to the good members, which are the majority, but this place is just choke-full of people like you attacking others for their opinions, especially in the OP manga section.
Now to get to the actual point, this series was once about cooking and strength, as in physical strength.
Now, if you ask me, those are two very valid reasons as to why the series is very different from the early days, and it's not a matter of evolution, I actually feel like it has taken many steps back. The first 150 chapters are awesome, IMO it's clear the quality has decreased. It's not shit like Bleach, but neither it is the magnificient thing it was before.
Aren't these two supposed to be the two strongest people in the setting? (or up there in strength, at least) It makes sense that, even by this series' standards, they're over-the-top. I'll admit, I didn't really like concept of the Food Honour arc ("this inanimate object can psychically sense when you're not grateful enough and self-destruct!"), and the series can come across as rushed sometimes (particularly when ending fights), but I'm not sure why this fight is where you draw the line.
I'm not drawing the line here, it's been an accumulation of stuff over the time, read what I wrote above to understand. Though, I'd say that this fight was particularly irritating because they were hyped as monsters since the beginning… yet they recur to such cringeworthy techniques that have almost nothing to do with actual strenght, and more with science mumbo-jumbo.
Now with Midora's tongue-void stuff explained, it does make a lttle more sense, but Ichiryuu's power is ridiculous. Especially the way he starts it and cancels it like nothing.
Sorry dude, but Toriko isn't a cooking manga. Cooking is just a part of it, the main appeal is the ingredient search and hunt and the shounen battles. There's a real cooking manga out there, look for it.
And you complain about Ichiryuu, yet you don't say anything about Setsuno's pressure attack that was first shown during Ice Hell arc. Those characters were hyped as powerhouses and is plenty justified what they are doing. The imagination thing as well, was hinted back during the Regal Mammoth arc. And to put the last nail I'll tell you that your statement about the FourBeast is wrong. Did you just ommit the parts about the cooking of the medicine and others just for your own convenience?
And cooking isn't used just when preparing the ingredients, the food themes are constantly used in battles, as well. You said the first 150 chapters are awesome. So you say Meteor Garlic and Chowlin Temple are terrible arcs? That makes no sense.
And what's wrong with the Food Appreciation thing? In a series about food you should have seen coming that a method to reduce calory consumption would eventually pop out.
I won't bother replying you again, think whatever you want, but allow me to tell you once more that if you wanted to see plenty of cooking then you just choose the wrong series.
It's true. Toriko isn't a cooking manga. It's just that some of us needed some time to realize that. Despite food in general being its main theme and one of the main characters being a cook, cooking itself wasn't an aspect of the theme this manga has set out to explore in full. Rather than seeing it as the main dish, see it as a side dish which it is and probably always was. To fault Toriko for the lack of that very aspect this late into the game is futile. And certainly, as far as faults go, Toriko has much more fatal ones.
You know what is a cooking manga though?
And for complete immersion, read it here.
[hide]GET IT ? HUUH ? GET IT GET IT ? HUH ?[/hide]
Naw I read a chapter of that. Pretty sure it's about ping pong or something. But seriously this is a great manga for people that haven't read it. Give it at chance.
As for Toriko itself. I'm going to wait until Midora/Ichiryuu ends for me to give a lot wall of text expressing my thoughts of Toriko and that particular arc lately. But I definitely gotta give it up to Shima in that I wasn't expecting a flashback to appear.
I found it kinda interesting they actually implemented some cooking in the recent couple anime episodes. In the manga where they just say "Komatsu found a way to cook the Medicinal Cooking Mochi. It was actually pretty simple and if the big chefs had stopped to think about it they could've found out how", in the anime they actually discuss the steps involved with making mochi and a few psetudoscience things to explain how the various steps could be simplified.
But yeah, not a manga about cooking. I think this arc's pretty interesting. I think the powers of Midora and Ichiryuu live up to their enormous levels of hype over the course of the series. Like it makes them seem super-unbeatable but it gives logical reasons why by giving them these sorta breaking-the-laws-of-physics techniques.
They completely killed the suspense about Teppei… Well, I saw it coming.
I think Ichiryu will survive, but just barely. He'll be on Life support until the four kings can rescue Komatsu and then he'll make the presidents full course meal which will revive him and give him the power he needs to beat Midora.
Really Toei? Just a moving picture of the fruit bowl?
You can't even see the hand, it's not scary.
It would have worked better if you showed a chopping board and then an uncensored bowl for a few seconds. Not some watered down version that you can barely see.
The script is out.
! Finally, more info about GOD and the Gourmet Eclipse and an interesting detail about Midora. It appears he used to speak a different kind of language. We also get to see young Ichiryuu and Jirou and Acacia himself.

! Frohze has some serious manboobs :ninja:
This week what matters seems to be the translation of the chapter. So we're gonna have to wait kewl.
http://imgbox.com/g/zQyuHF9erZ
Read it to your heart's content.
! Jirou looks cool as fuck as a youngster, also Frohze is a qt.
! Midora look's like a skinny Toriko.
! The day Midora and Joa meet can't arrive any sooner…
this. is. so. cute.
can´t wait for the script.
! Finally we can see Jirou doing some knocking with his bare hands (aside from Grand Knocking).
One thing that bugs me is that we should've known that Frohze was a woman since the first time she was mentionneded by Melk, the title given was "Chef God" Frohze which led everyone to think she's male.
But the word Chef is unisexual so if anyone has access to the raws of 123 can they confirm if it was indeed Chef God or Chef Goddess ? Maybe Shima intended for her to be male or it was just a mistranslation.
Also about the chapter
! Staarjun went back in time and couged is third eye out it seems.
This is because "kami" is used for both "god" and "goddess". Many japanese words are used in fact to refer to both sexes, which sometimes tends to confuse the reader.
Oh yeah that also, completely skipped the possibility.
Thanks.

Pretty much this. It's for this same reason that a lot of people thought Dadan was gonna be a guy instead of a fat old lady.
! Jirou looks like a street punk and I love that. Igo is way too serious. Midora somehow look feminine to me.
Script is out (I thought someone would´ve posted it already)
There were more typos than usual in this chapter's script. Not like beggars can be choosers, but I bet Kewl could easily get some help from the usual readers to fix the typos of his scripts, just like CCC does after posting his in the OP chapter threads.
Seems like Jirou got along much better with Midora than Ichiryuu ever did.
I´m happy the three of them aren´t just apprentices. They were literally their adopted kids.
They're such a cute family. I never thought I'd say this about a flashback (especially a flashback within a flashback), but I really don't want to go back to the "Midora eating Ichiryuu and then meteors". Just cute, happy memories for the rest of the manga.
