Haha, the 4kids user "Chibbi-san" did not get my post either.
@My:
For a long time you subbies have been mean to us dubbies
One Piece is a great show, and we know that, we just prefer
One Piece in english, not in a language we can't understand!
Lo and behold, all we find you subbies doing is yelling us for
supporting a company which is doing an incredibly good job!!!
!
The responses:
@someDUDE8:
You have never seen the sub i bet and you have never seen the real one piece and i have. I have compared the scanlation (translated manga) to the dub and the dub is horrible. My point is that we have seen the real one piece and now the dub phails in comparision.
@Chibbi-san's:
…Are you being paid to say this?
First of all, fansubbers have a reason to be mad...A very good reason. When One Piece first came to America, is was by fan subbing. Downloading episodes in japanese with sub-titles of (perfect translations). It was a fun and enjoyable show back then.

First of all, One Piece (like many other animes) first starts off as a Japanese program in 1990. About months later or maybe a year later, it was available for download with provided subtitles (English, Spanish etc) on the web. This was when fans were happy and could enjoy the perfect translations and the show as it was supposed to be... (And since fan-subs still exist we fan-subbers have some happiness left)
Then, the One Piece manga was licensed by Viz. (which was fine) And it began to be published in Shonen Jump magazine (America). That's when Zoro was still Zoro and the plot was kept in place... Kids and teens were first introduced to One Piece. Though I doubt that a large percent of dub fans knew about the manga before the anime.
Then 4kids jumps over and licenses the anime, being the typical clueless buisness people they are, they view animation as the typical stereo type and view it towards a children's audiance, despite the violence, language, partail nudity, tobacco use, and alcohol.
Anime fans were ticked off enough. But not as ticked when we were lied to. Because in various interviews, they stated many things such as Not changing the name for just the sake of it's name. and minimal edits will be made. Because when it debuted, the opening theme (Which was told to be en english translated song of "We Are") was changed to a pop cultural rap song. And the backround music (which was promised to be kept) was completely different and stupid. Everything was a lie.
And you're saying 4kids has done an incredibly good job? Incredible job at what exactly? The voice actors lack character and emotion. There're terrible translations.
4kids isn't even trying hard to do good with One Piece and yet it has fans? That's ridiculous. What could have been good potential was a wasted effort.
I really did fool them good with my post! XD
