I remember Pell said that there were 5 fruits that granted flight, his included.
Does this include Marco, and the 2 new insect zoans from the latest chapter? Or did Pell mean bird fruits?

someone in this forum (don't remember who and which thread) explained that pell said that there are 5 Kinds of DF that grant you flight. so bird zoan kind is 1, bug kind is 2 etc.
kinda of a strange one: when we discuss Ivankov, should we address Ivankon as Zie? (gender neutral pronoun)
! example: Ivankov is strong, Zie is the king of okama island Zir technique is okama kenpo. Ivankov considers Zirself as a revolutionary

^^ the above post. Aohige explained that in the Japanese, it's 'type' in an ambiguous way. So what counts as 'one type' is anyone's guess. Could be bird (encompassing Falcon and Phoenix), bug and float … float may not count ... phoenix could count separately.
Basically, we have no idea exactly what Pell meant, it's very ambiguous.

That is not actually a thing. English does not have an actual gender neutral pronoun in use. You can use whatever you want, but Ivankov is normally a man, so 'he' would be the natural go-to. I wouldn't advise using a word that isn't really in use which not everyone is going to understand . . .

Not officially in the English language, but in popular use for at least a century. (not exactly the word i used, but words specifically made for the same purpose and aren't yet in the English language). Actually though, "they" can be used as gender neutral pronoun but it has some limitations.
anyway, why don't we hear anything about CP0 anymore? back at W7 and EL there was so much buildup for CP9 and they were revealed later. Sure CP0 isn't the main focus of this arc (DR), but they are supposed to be even higher than CP9 in power and importance. What's going on with them??

I'm assuming they're keeping to the shadows, and they were the ones tracking the strawhats movements, allowing for Dofla's master plan to divide and conquer the Strawhat - Heart alliance.
When Fujitora dropped the meteorite, the land around him, Law, and Doflamingo crumbled with the spots they were standing on being the only ground left. I understand that Doflamingo can fly, but how exactly could Law and Fujitora have gotten out of there without falling to their deaths?
EDIT: I just realized that Law could have switched himself with an object in the background, but what about Fujitora?

Law can use ROOM and teleport himself out of there, while Fuji probably rode a meteorjumped to the other side.

I would just use "they". It's genderneutral and not very confusing to your average person.

Yeah.
Look at Monet's arm in the first panel. http://www.batoto.net/read/_/139225/one-piece_ch686_by_mangarule/6 Is that a bug?
If you look at the bottom right in that page, its gone.

I was rereading chapter 699 and this question hit me.
We know that people go by different names in the underworld business, so what If Aokiji is actually Jack

There's a part of me that wants it to be "Jack Frost" so bad :P
Anyway, i think Kuzan is more of a lone wolf kind of guy.

Yeah I get that but he'll need someone to inform him about current event, he's lazy so he should have people who do those stuff for him
Can Conqueror's Haki knock out weaker-willed people that are stronger/more skilled combat wise than the user as well, or must the user of Conqueror's Haki both have a stronger will and be a stronger fighter than the desired target in order for it to work?
It's the former.
Can someone please tell me why there are so many people who think that Zoro is stronger than Luffy?
In my opinion Luffy > Zoro in all aspects except swordsmanship and seriousness
And if you agree with them can you please give me an explanation
You cannot argue with subjectivity involved. Period.

Well, it's actually kinda stupid to think that Zoro would be stronger than Luffy. Luffy is the captain and has always been the one to cancel out the strongest enemy. Not even mentioning the fact that he is the one who is going to be the Pirate King. I have been inactive on the forum for a few days, and normally I only follow a few threads so I have to ask, do you see it being said on this particular forum or also on the internet or from friends? Because I can hardly imagine people on this forum thinking something like that (at least without being immediately corrected).
Maybe some of the people who say it actually think that swords are Luff's weakness (which it's not. It's just something he's not resilient against…), but I can also provide you with a legit explanation of why I could somewhere kinda understand people's reasoning in thinking it. Ever since the timeskip, Zoro has been depicted as the one who has least trouble with all of his fights. Luffy vs Hody took quite a while and while Luffy still owned the crap out of Hody, Zoro didn't even have to break a sweat in order to beat Hyouzou (who was the strongest swordsman in all of FI, had taken a lot of pills, and people were saying he was really dangerous when he is drunk, which he really was at the time).
Then on Punk Hazard, Zoro owned the shit out of Monet without even physically hurting her (aside from that little cut on her cheek). He just intimidated her so that she could barely move, then let Tashigi finish her.
I still do not think that Zoro would be stronger than Luffy, like, hell no. But Zoro has had the most confidence and the least trouble since the timeskip. Hence maybe the confusion to some.

I think people equate the attitudes and personalities of the two characters with their fighting abilities. I'd say the same goes for Sanji. As if the super serious Zoro could never lose to the woman crazy Sanji or the man child Luffy.

There have multiple times where people point out that Zoro looks like he's the captain, their duel on Whiskey Peak wasn't completely one-sided, he took all of Luffy's pain or damage or whatever on Thriller Bark and remained standing, etcetera.
Personally I think they're just evenly matched.
Oda made it VERY clear in the Arlong Arc that Luffy was the stronger of the two. Both by general things and a specific thing.
Zoro was pretty badly beaten, while Luffy won. Granted, Zoro was injured, but Oda gives us a specific demonstration, as Zoro's sword hits Arlong's nose and does NOTHING. And towards the end of the fight, Luffy bends Arlong's nose out of shape.
More importantly, Luffy tells Arlong "I can't use a sword. I can't cook. I can't navigate. I can't tell lies." To which arlong responds "How nice of you to admit your incompetence. What can you do then?"
"Beat you."
So this was kind of a thing in the Arlong arc, that Luffy relied on his crew for a lot of stuff but when it comes to some super strong guy, only Luffy can do it.
It's less clearly alluded to in Alabasta, with it being suggested only Luffy could beat Crocodile out of all of them.
I think when it comes to physical strength they're both evenly matched but Luffy is way more adaptable and battle-smart than Zoro.

No I wouldn't say so.
I would say that they are fairly equal maybe (in all of those things), but that Luffy is still stronger. But the main point is that Luffy's will is so much greater than most people.
Not saying Zoro doesn't have willpower, but Luffy's will is so huge, and he's the only one in the crew who has King's Haki unlocked, and a damn strong one at that.
A not so quick question.
On this page (http://www.batoto.net/read/_/48236/one-piece_ch100_by_onepiecefag-nep-ece/26) the speech bubble in the first panel, what is the most appropriate/best translation?
Particularly, I'm wondering how the line could be interpreted (and why) and whether there are any implications as to who could be saying it (sex, age, etc)

Sorry but why is that important?
To try and answer though, it seems the translation was fine. It was a gust of wind, nothing more to it. Probably any random Marine said it.
I'd say people say that Zoro is stronger because both he and Luffy have been through many of the same trials and tribulations.
and while Luffy has:
1. Devil Fruit (one of the strongest)
2. Will of D.
3. Conqueror's Haki
4. Shank's Hat (and the symbolism it has)
Zoro has none of these. All he has is Kuina's sword and his own, normal, human body.
The fact that Zoro has managed to match Luffy blow for blow for so long truly tells of his strength.
Sorry but why is that important?

Just interested by different translation choices made. I didn't realise I had to justify the importance of my questions …
And if that answer is just a guess rather than com,ing off of actual knowledge of the language + looking at the raw, I dunno why you gave it because it obviously doesn't answer the question . . .

Yea, and I was just interested as to why you wanted to know it. Didn't realise I'd offend you by asking why you want to know.
Sorry for not having much Japanese knowledge yet simply trying to answer you, I didn't know you had to be an expert on everything before you may answer something.

Does that little panel even have another meaning then a gust of wind, it doesn't matter who said it (girl, man, child) at the end it will stay a gust of wind, don't you think

Raw says 突風だァ!!!! so the translation given in your link is good. I guess another group translated it as just "Storm!" which looks like it could be interpreted as Dragon saying an attack called "Storm"… and that's how myths are formed. There's no ambiguity in the original; it's definitely a random soldier crying out.

Ah, thanks. Yeah, Viz translated it as "Wind Blast" which obviously goes off of the interpretation that it's like … Dragon's attack or something. I was wondering how ambiguous it was.
Even though like ... it's a shout bubble and Dragon's mouth is closed :p
Thanks again.

There could be some … awkwardness when Luffy meets Shanks at last.
Yasopp: Ahhh, Usopp, you decided to be a pirate after all!! What did your mum think about that?
Usopp: She's dead.
Yasopp: WHAAAAAAAAAAAA
Or maybe Usopp would use his supercool lie powers.

You know that's a long time ago when Luffy fought crocodile. After timeskip the speculation has come again on a lot of forums. Every forum where i go there is a Zoro Vs Luffy thread and that was making me crazy. Like Evowarrior5 said after timeskip Zoro hardly broke any sweat so people automatically think Zoro is very strong but i call that BS. He hasn't had a notable opponent yet but people still assume Zoro could beat Luffy but i think that are mostly anime watchers because in the anime they make Luffy look really wake and Zoro badass.
I just realized something
Does Yasopp know his wife is dead?
I can't help but think he does know. I keep remembering that in Luffy's village he kept talking about his son, Usopp, but not once mentioned his wife, Banchina.
Is there any gallery or sorts of everyone's (not just Strawhat) wanted posters? For some reason I just wanted to see them.
concerning the Luffy Zoro conflict, it doesn't metter who the hell you think is stronger, Oda is NEVER going to write/draw a situation where Luffy loses to Zoro. Luffy is the main protagonist of the entire series, and is stronger than Zoro, sorry but its true. More examples pre time skip than post, such as Luffy and Zoro being equally beat up after Enies Lobby arc even though Luffy fought boss who was almost twice as strong as Zorors opponent… People will not stop their speculation though so my whole rant is trivial

Um, what?
Zoro's fight was much easier, and he still fought lots of Marine captains and above afterwards while barely putting in an effort. Whereas Luffy couldn't even move after his fight and had to be carried by Robin's hands.
It still indicates Luffy is stronger, yes, but what you said is incorrect.

what did Garp meant when he said, referring to Shanks,: "he is one of the four greatest pirates in the world"
what does the word " great" means here?
does it means power in English?
is it possible that he means Shanks is one of the most powerful pirates in the world?
By the 'greatest pirates', I believe Garp was referring to power and success of the pirates. At least that's how I've always seen it.
And yeah Garp would have meant one of the most powerful … after all he IS a yonkou. I doubt a pirate can be one without being one of the top powerful people on the seas

Great means stature in this case. His crew is one the most prominent, one of the four most prominent.
This implies a mix of power and influence and everything. Shanks is no doubt super strong, but also has a strong crew, also probably wields powerful influence, and also probably has a long list of acomplishments to his name.
Well, thank you guys :)

Yeah, but all of these things are based on power
His influence, conquering part of the harshest seas, his stature all based in his power
Of course his nakama helped him
But how come the word " great" in Garp's sentense can't means exactly "power"?!
I mean power is everything in the pirates world
Yonkou cant even conquer any of New world's islands without power
They also couldn't share the same level or stature as whitebeard " the strongest man" without their power
Am i right?!

The best argument against this, is it's really boring to think of everything in terms of physical strength. Seriously.
OP has lots of fighting, but there's always been more than that.
And no, influence isn't just about physical power at all.

Although i didn't fully understand your first sentence, because English is not my native language, i had a feeling that you are not happy of my last post, or the way of my thinking. ^^
Anyway, i am really happy that you give me 1 minute or 2 of your time to answer my question.
I really appreciate that from you and all of you guys ^^
And sorry if i bother you
