So you never noticed that folks mentioned this multiple times already?
It deserved to put an image of that piece of art.

According to CCC & Aohige
Ah, I think "Woman in Chair" (Picasso) fits Momo even better, actually (warning: exposed boobie):

Rather, they seem to be Jora's signature, of sorts, given that they all have them.

The Sunny reminds me more of Miro's stufff.

So by "No One" you meant the pages and pages and posts after posts about the modern art devil fruit that you skipped to claim that no one noticed that reference about Brook, who represents the most well known painting out of the five people and ship shown in this chapter?
I think that at the end of this saga, Bellamy will become the king of Dressosa. He won't be murdered either by Doflamingo or Diamante. And he'll support Luffy in his battle with someone of Doflamingo's family.
Bellamy did state to Doflamingo that he will surpass him when he was getting schooled way back when by him. So this is the likeliest scenario. I can imagine a big scene when DD finally gets defeated and all the townspeople see how he has manipulated them.
Errr… I mean to say, the eyelashes aren't really reminiscent of any of these famous artists. They're a Jora thing (aka Oda's bit of flair).
Lot of Miro influence too, for sure.
And unsurprisingly, the creator of Tower of the Sun was influenced by western surrealism and even "associated" with Picasso.

@Monkey:
Weren't those frozen guys just like a way to store test subjects or something? I remember them having prisoner outfits, so they were probably just prisoners Caesar got Vergo or someone to send him to experiment with.
I believe it was mentioned that the government had been looking for a way to create giant soldiers for centuries. Those were probably test subjects from before Cesar Clown took over PH. He did all of his testing on the children.
Bellamy did state to Doflamingo that he will surpass him
Bellamy said no such thing.

Maybe Barto is shanks son?
@CCC:
That was my interpretation of it, anyway. The "roots" part of the line is, in the original, just "deep roots/connection/history/reasons," hence, "…deeper." The word motivation isn't explicitly there, but...
The line is literally, "I, as opposed to you = deeper roots [in regards to the matter we are currently discussing, which is the life and/or death of Luffy]." Cavendish is saying he wants to kill Luffy; Barto says he won't let Cavendish kill Luffy. Cavendish assumes this is because Barto wants to kill Luffy himself, but that's just his assumption. I chose to phrase it in a way that leaves that ambiguity open. Barto's "motivations" could either be motivations for wanting to kill Luffy himself, or motivations for wanting Luffy to live on and not be killed by Cavendish. What Barto wants to communicate is that his stake in this is somehow more meaningful than Cavendish's petty bullshit.
I'm sorry, but i don't think that i understand it.
Do you mean that the word " roots " was there in the original japanese version?
I really want to know if it was there or not
Because that will give a completely new meaning
It might means that Barto is connected to luffy's roots
He might be one of his family or one of the "D"s
So if Barto wants Luffy to live that will be bacause of a deep reason as "his roots" or something and
not for any reason
2:20 might be a mistranslation as I was still only watching the anime during this time. I just remembered the scene once Bellamy was introduced in this arc.
I think I enter a manga section here
If anyone in this arc was Sabo, it was Barto's henchman who got beaten up by capman (curlly hair, folks!) :ninja: but a better choice than the curly hair revolutionary.
There was also a sexism-discussion in the spoiler thread because Nami always gets in danger (though Chopper also gets in danger a lot). Let me tell you one thing:
the most sexistic thing in OP is…
[hide]ol' tsuru-chan's laundry laundry no mi[/hide]

As far as I can hear from the audio, Bellamy is saying that someday he'll (I couldn't make out the subject, or maybe it wasn't about him at all) reach the place that Dofla is at (basho would be place, location and also position). But his line in the manga translation is a bit different: [http://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/v32/c303/8.html
H](http://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/v32/c303/8.html)ere he says that the people he kicked out (the weaklings mentioned in the video) would reach Dofla's location eventually, which is just his defense to justify his loss.

Nah. Makino's baby was only just born in the last cover story series.

I think the frozen prisoners are from Vegapunk's time @PH if they were used for giantification. CC stated in his lil FB it is better to use children for giantification because they still do grow so it can be manipulated better. Though sum prisoners really looked already big.

Those are the same translations that use the messed up names (Binami) though.
Maybe somebody with the Viz volumes can confirm how it was worded in the manga.

Hello, this is the manga section. I don't really know what that colored moving video is, but it definitely doesn't have anything to do with what we're talking about.

I read it really recently (and own it). There was absolutely nothing about surpassing Doflamingo.
Would be sick if Bartolomeo would be the son of Blackbeard and Luffy's mother. Locked into a mental ward as a young boy by his mother in a way to protect him from Blackbeard. In the mental ward bartolomeo was experimented on by Dr Vegapunk and as a result he gained his DF. Bartolomeo's relation to Blackbeard is complex due to Blackbeard hitting him while young but also the man who freed him from Dr Vegapunk's torture.
You know what I'm curious the most about? How the hell did they let a giant participate if there's a weight limit? And he's wearing a GIANT gold helmet with equally giant ornaments.

The likelihood of that happening is the same as Sabo being dead.. impossible
Exactly.
I do hope that Barto's relation with Luffy will be a positive one, to contrast his dark aura.

Not roots as in "a person's roots" (like Luffy). Roots as in his connection to this whole situation. But again, it's purposely ambiguous. We're not supposed to know exactly what he means.
Exactly.

That would ruin Bart for me. I want him to be a real bastard, like Kid.
My guess is that Bartho is simply a high ranked revolutionary from Dragon who sent him to aid Luffy.
He is there to make sure of Luffy's survival from this encounter and possibly make an offer of meeting with his father at the end.
And also to ensure that Mera Mera goes into his possession so that Dragon can offer it to Luffy as a proof of his intentions.
Someone apparently chose him because he was pretty much invincible with his extreme defensive abilities. Someone wanted to make sure that he will get Mera Mera no matter what.
Barto said: " my roots with him go deeper though!! " according to mangapanda.
What does the word " though " mean here?
Does it mean " despite that " , i dont really think that this meaning fits.
Can anyone explain please
Coz English is not my native language anyway.

It have to do with proportions! What they don't want his a full armored guy/girl in the arena, so they just look to see if there's enough flesh in proportion with protected area. For example in Luffy case they only watched him and give an ok! Weigh wasn't involved in the process.

So we can't think that he is connected to luffy's roots or that Barto's roots has something to do with Luffy, can we?
It is just something about their situation
Thank you so much

Yea about that, but he may just realized that Lucy was Luffy since its pretty obvious that Luffy will be there to get his brother's fruit.
Also still doesnt change the fact that Revos may want to get Mera Mera for possible Strawhat Pirate negotiations just like Doflamingo grabbed Luffy's attention to this.
Not sure if the revolutionaries will have any representatives in the tournament since they are already present in the Dressrosa arc. Of the factions we are missing so far, Big MoM and Shanks, I feel that shanks is a viable option.
Perhaps Barto got a connection to Rob Lucci, who know are tied to the underworld brokers.
awesome chapter,i hope oda sticks to block c next week.
Bartomoleo is sabos brother stella , said it first
Bartomoleo is sabos brother stella , said it first
Well you ARE the first to say 'stella', but others already said it's 'Stelly'
I've seen a lot of people give a lot of baseless claims of who Barto is. (I say baseless because there is no clues to them)
I've already made my prediction of who Barto is in a correct thread= link

Or the Revolutionaries want the fruit to increase their power? If he is a revolutionary why is mission have to include Luffy? He isn't the center of the world, you know?

soon…....very soon he and his crew will be the centre of the world
I am very happy that there is a chapter next week

Again, Barto's lines are far more ambiguous than Panda's translation makes them out to be. From the wording, he could very well just mean "I won't let you kill Luffy [because I want to protect him]." I won't engage in pointless speculation about who Barto is until we have more evidence, but him being a revolutionary is more than good enough of a reason to not want Luffy dead (Iva and Kuma also helped the SHs on Dragon's behalf). That might not have anything to do with him entering the tournament, but if it did… maybe other big players in the world also realized that the Mera Mera might naturally be a magnet for Luffy? Doesn't seem like a huge leap of logic.
I see Bartolomeo is trolling the trolls and inciting more trolling.
And I see his briefcase as nothing more than a bag of tricks, trolling tricks.
Gonna guess that Bart is connected to Luffy through Ace… Be it a former Spade pirate or affiliate of the Whitebeard pirates or something... Mainly based on the poor evidence that is Ace and Bartolomeo being kind of named after the same historical figure, Bartolomeu Portugues...
@keizerking:
awesome chapter,i hope oda sticks to block c next week.
i hope so to. It will be awesome to see don chinjao fight lucy next week. I hope the chapter ends with some catchup on law's situation
Here's for a new theory.
Bartolomeo is actually Lufy's mother and Dragon had 'her' turned into a guy and sent away from him due to how 'she' was acting and whatnot.

how was she acting?
Sum people here might wonder how Brook + co can change back to normal. The answer is simple. Like with a lot of DFs changing back to normal requires sth with sea water/normal water (remember the salt @ TB or Kalifa's DF?). Water should solve their problem if u ask me.
Vivi hired Bartho to make sure that Luffy can get out of there alive with fruit. Thus making Bartho a pirate assassin of Alabasta kingdom whose hated by every other kingdom because he is that badass.
In the end of this arc, we will see Luffy running after Bartho thanking him whose sailing away in a ship, only to stand still turning his back to Luffy, slip his arm and show Luffy the infamous "X" mark that Bartho shamelessly copied from Vivi as stated in contract.
Then Luffy smiles as tears of friendship rains down…
Nope, Really hope not...
btw, when is the next chapter releasing? the normal schedule? seen somewhere that the chapter would be even sooner than this one so i'm a bit confused. (maybe something important happens next week)

Then, why has the ship changed at all? It swims in sea water.

The briefcase is just his luggage. When he learned Luffy was there, he went back to his ship, packed, and came back, because he wants to join the straw hats
