I almost didn't recognize him without his iconic beard, but I think he can do a pretty good job as the Rhino.

Also, I just read the casting news. Paul Giamatti as Rhino?
Huh…..............................
Paul Giamatti is really.....not what I had in mind when I think of The Rhino. Like not at all. Not even as a afterthought.
If I was the Casting Director, my absolute first choice for The Rhino would've been Vinnie Jones instead. He fits the role so much better. Both in appearance and personality.
I'll still see what Giamatti can bring to the table, and I'm sure he'll give the best performance he can, but….ugha buga I'm disappoint.
-
I thought Rhino was suppose to be goofy and dumb looking (like Paul), and gaining the powers of "the Rhino" made him less so. Though… Rhino is pretty goofy and dumb overall, but intimidating (in the suit or whatever).
-
Well, Paul Giamatti is an excellent actor. Playing Rhino though? That's something… different I guess. I'm sure he'll do an excellent job, but it just feels odd. It's like casting The Rock as Joker, it just feels off.
-
The Rhino is supposed to be an ugly mug. Who's about as dumb as he is pretty
And besides we barely ever see him outside of his mutated form/suit so who cares what the actual actors physique is like
In fact him being short just makes him all the better to me. Like a little tank who people don't take seriously at first
-
Bigger than that, I think, is that all of her scenes in the movie have been cut.

She was in the movie and now she isn't. -
I hate this happened. Shailene Woodley is amazing but basement dwellers and comic book freaks whined about how she's too fugly for the role. Get the fuck over your obsession. Now they cut her out.
-
Fine with me. I was not thrilled with her casting. She's never impressed me as an actress. The closest was in "The Descendants," but she was only decent.
-
I also kinda wish she would also be recast as well because I'm sure Shailene Woodley is a very talented actress that could do the role justice–acting wise. I just don't think she's my ideal representation of Jane. I rather go with Elena Satine who has both acting chops and body chops http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://ilarge.listal.com/image/2532427/936full-elena-satine.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.listal.com/viewimage/2532427h&h=1404&w=936&sz=546&tbnid=vG_KK581vbpVyM:&tbnh=107&tbnw=71&zoom=1&usg=__ETNUxSojKmkYyACXA_ZE4LZrQi4=&docid=0beAw5r6XGGW7M&sa=X&ei=DCvDUbmGEIKmigLv_IGgDw&ved=0CJEBEP4dMBI

So people are really throwing out that she should be recast? That's pretty messed up. Do you guys really want MJ cast purely on who most people want to bang? Firstly, that's a sad debasing of the character, basically saying "she was a model/actress, so she's just hot" rather than the great complexities her character has. Secondly, they could have gone with an MJ who is more like the Ultimate version, where, yes, she is beautiful (as is Shailene Woodley), just not in the I wear tight, short dresses flaunting all I got kind of way (also not really MJ, even in her early party girl days) but is also becomes a really good friend of Peter's and is rebellious and interested in becoming a reporter.
And I say this as someone who really doesn't like MJ all that much. But to just go "no, not hot enough" isn't a good reason to slam a talented (and still plenty attractive) actress from being worthy of the role.
Also, Shailene Woodley is going to be the star of Divergent. That book is pretty huge, with its popularity just slightly below Hunger Games with the teen reader crowd. If that movie is good and successful, which I hope it is, you're going to see this woman explode much like Jennifer Lawrence did with the one-two punch of X-Men First Class and Hunger Games. Chances are, if they do recast and not just hold off her role, that Sony will be kicking themselves for losing her.
-
Shailene is a very talented actor but I don't think she fits the role. That's just me.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Sarah Gadon may have a role in the Amazing Spiderman film series
Maybe she's Black Cat?
-
Well I'm not. She's impressed me even lass than Woodley as an actress.
-
Elena Santine is the ideal choice for Mary Jane. I'll always stand by it.
-
Damn this might mean, Woodley is still MJ after-all.
-
@The:
They're cheesy alright, but not Electro cheesy.
Heck… They should all be in the same movie together; making it extra cheesy.

I immediately thought of Leonardo DiCaprio in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, but I don't know why.
