One Piece Chapter 710 "To Green Bit"
-
Finally some Robin action !
-
@The:
And one dwarf shall be called Kaido. :ninja:
We haven't even seen these creatures and you're already jumping to wild conclusions?
-
I found this little tibit to be very meaningful for all logias.
Depends.
Ace was fighting for 5 days straight and Sakazuki with Kuzan for 10.
It is just that Caesar is weak compared to such figures.
-
Clearly the Fire Dragon means he'll eat the Mera Mera…
-
am I reading it correctly?

YIE AR ONE PIECE ?!EDIT: what's the meaning of "yie ar" ?
-
also how did bellamy knew luffys haki strength?
-
It's good to read One Piece again.
I loved Bellamy's little scene with Luffy. Makes me really wonder what Oda is planning for him. I'd love to see him as an ally but on the other hand, then he'd have to doublecross Doflamingo.
! And please spare me from any bellamyfornakama bullcrap! :getlost: At least until it's ACTUALLY suggested in the arc, witch I doubt.
Barty is interested about Luffy eh? Maybe he works for one of his enemies. Big Mom, for example? Would at least fit his cannibal theme!
Also loved Caesar's interaction with the crew! Almost makes me hope he joined them. Almost!!!
So the fairies are actually dwarwes? I have to admit that's little disappointing, even tough I've been waiting to see them. I also wanted to see fairies or at least something little more 'supernatural' to explain them. :ermm:
EDIT GODDAMMIT how could I forget the Caesar Balloon?!
-
@The:
And one dwarf shall be called Kaido.

I'll move this to a more appropriate thread if needs be, but we've seen some of Kaido's henchmen having an Oz theme, the great and powerful Kaido revealed as being a dwarf hiding behind many illusions and a fearsome reputation would be quite fitting
-
Glad we finally get to see Law's group (and Law's awesome tat)! I wonder if fairies and dwarves are the same thing. I assume they are, but people just have different names for them.
-
This was pretty nice, I love seeing Caesar along with the Strawhats, and finally seeing dwarves is nice and it makes me more interested in knowing about Dressrosa's story. The bits with information about Law's and Caesar's powers were cool too
-
We haven't even seen these creatures and you're already jumping to wild conclusions?
Did you not notice he used the smiley?
And you're one to talk, considering your "Kaido is minkman with a Sun Wukong zoan" theory.
-
Kaido being a dwarf but respected that much around the world would be funny…but nothing more.
Bellamy doublecrossing DD in the end i can`t see happening, because when there was a time to betray DD it was after getting sliced by DD with his own nakama.

YIE AR ONE PIECE ?!EDIT: what's the meaning of "yie ar" ?
-
Robin is taking a risk with those stripping dwarves/fairies :-D
-
Great chapter, and those fish are massive fuckers.
-
Anyone else think Law looks like a 70's pornstar with that tattoo and fake stache? xD
-
also how did bellamy knew luffys haki strength?
Something tells me the Bellamy has CoO
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I'm still hoping for Kaido just with Typhon Zoan df
-
Robin is taking a risk with those stripping dwarves/fairies :-D
Careful! That's Mashima territory right there!
I think the upskirt shot of Nami's Teru Teru Bozu on the cover filled all fanservice requirements this week:ninja:
-
I guess the Dwarves is small but they're very strong and fast.. around twenty times stronger and faster than normal human.
Kaido must be a mutation of Dwarves.. He's bigger than usual, and having a super Dwarves strength.. -
@Kai:
Mangapanda translation says CC worth 3 billion =)) That makes me laugh =))
Yeah they just don't read One Piece, they translate it because it gives trafic to the website, its stupid mistakes that if anyone reads the manga even if you don't translate it rigth due to lack of knowledge you would know you were wrong by paying attention to the fucking manga lol.
Same with Caesar attack.
–----
Btw Campo de Flores = Flower Field in portuguese.
-

Kaido must be a mutation of Dwarves.. He's bigger than usual, and having a super Dwarves strength..Or he's a dwarf with a Devil Fruit that gives him immense strength somehow/someway. In either the form of a Paramecia or (Mythical) Zoan.
-
also how did bellamy knew luffys haki strength?
People experienced in haki can sense that sort of thing. Remember Blackbeard saying how Luffy's haki had increased in Impel Down? In chapter 234 he even makes the first mention of Haki, commenting on how Luffy's bounty of 30m was a little low for a will like that.
-
T'was an okay chapter, it's just the two week brake makes ones expectations go higher.
The pacing felt a bit weird and I wish we would actualy see Caesar's Balloon form up close but I understand that Oda isn't in top shape atm.
-
How do they keep time in the one piece world…?
-
so,it's the color spread a parody of something?
i know yie ar kung-fu,but that's not similiar of the cover of the game, but franky ,brook and robin all have that srange lightining bolt symbol on the forehead, and are all dressed in black..it seems to reference something… -
awesome boar is awesome.
avatar size if anyone wants it lol -
Loved the chapter!
Law's ability seems not to drain his stamina that much after how he cut a whole factory and can throw warships around. I guess it only comes iinto play against a strong oponent where he has to use his power alot like Doflamingo but still it is good to know he has a limit. Maybe if he increases his physical stamina, then he might be able to increase his DF strenght to. Still a very powerful fruit!
Luffy is also making more allies I think it he is unknowingly building his own fleet and that he will later become a yonku.
-
if its true that Bart is a fanboy of Luffy, it would be very intersting just on appearances alone. Cavendish, a pleasant looking guy with a nice personality (sans the worse generation) and everyone (espically the ladies) seems to like him; but it turns out that he dispises Luffy. While Bart, is pretty much the opposite of Caven in terms of personality and at first glance looks like a "bad guy"… and would be the last one to become new nakama to the SH or even be a fan.
So its interesting that Oda-san flipped the OP world view and fan expectations of both characters... in regards to Luffy.
-
Not a bad chapter; it's nice to see Law isn't as invincible when it comes to his powers as it appeared initially.
The cover page is good, but are we obligated to call Luffy, "Bruce Luffy" from now on? Sorry, I couldn't resist.
This chapter reminded me one of the main reasons I think One Piece is such a great series: The Characters. One of my favorite story acts is having minor characters who normally wouldn't even get a second glance gradually become major characters within an arc or even major characters for the rest of the series, and I think that's what's happening with Bellamy right now. Oda didn't need to give Bellamy character development; hell, he could've just killed off Bellamy back in Jaya and most people would've been fine with it. What makes One Piece far grander than most shonen series, nay, most series in general is because the author takes his time to construct entire worlds and people that one not only cares about, but can equate themselves to, even if they're seemingly minor characters.
-
Look who just survived Voldemort's wrath and got that scar. Brook, "the skeleton who lived"… sounds fitting enough.
-
This chapter was great.
Ceasar being forced to help and then all proud for take care of the fish to his interactions with Usopp and Law, to the ceasar ballon can we have him as the forever hostage.:ninja:
Robin catching the dwarfes let's see how they look like next week?
I'll wait for a better translation/scanlation to say my opinion on rest of the chapter. -
Good chapter. I was getting a little tired of the arena.
-
awesome boar is awesome.
avatar size if anyone wants it lolThat's awesome. I'll take it.
-
@The:
thanks, I didn't know it, it's 2 year older than me :-P
-
Seriously, Mangapanda, Robin's attack translated to "Mille feuille" ?
-

As a Matter of fact, Sanji is the one dressed as bruce Lee (and he looks awesome!)
-
In order to save Sabo's life Dragon used his DF to turn him into an dwarf.
Green Bit is the secret dwarf base of the dwarf revolutionaries.
Dwarf Sabo for Nakama.
There, it had to be done sooner or later.
-
Where did he do that, or is that just you remembering naked Lucy?
Í'm joking about this chapter of fairy tail where the dragon put all the soldiers naked ( without underwear there) a bit before Lucy I think
-
As a Matter of fact, Sanji is the one dressed as bruce Lee (and he looks awesome!)
Yeah, but I could've sworn Bruce Lee wore something like what Luffy wears in one of his movies. Maybe I'm just losing it, IDK.
-
Just noticed…..the (awesome) kung-fu colorspread had the captioning along the lines of "The Punk Hazard arc is drawing to a close....now here comes Dressrosa" (or something like that). A mangapanda foul-up?
Anyway, things start off with the end of B Block.....Bellamy's lost, but he remarks that Luffy cheered him on and that's he changed...man, I want to see more of Bellamy this arc. He's bound to play a bigger part.
Oh yeah, and Bart knows Lucy is Luffy.....this could be a problem. I'll admit I don't like the whole "Bart secretly admires Luffy" idea, purely because imo he's more fun as a jerk, but it's an interesting concept in itself.
Then we move to Team Law!
...Usopp and Caesar made this freaking chapter. Their freak-outs and yelling at Law, the latter being forced to fight off the fish and become a balloon (that killed me) was downright hiliarous. Also loved Robin and Law not giving a damn throughout, but the former got to attack something! Yay!
I should be annoyed by Law's refusal to help, but he's got a reason….that, and there was something strangly amusing about his casual "nah, you guys do it" demeanor. Maybe it's the disguise.
The spread with Green Bit was great (kudos to those who predicted it was a forest area)......the Marines being there immediately puts the operation in danger, but something's in the area.....dwarves??? Oh boy oh boy, between this and the fairies, we're bound to see more of the OP world's inhabitants.
great chapter, although I would like to see the conclusion of Caribou's cover story soon.
-
bad translation …. fu*k u MP
-
-Good to see Usopp attacking 'for real' and not just using a "oh this plant is perfect for this situation" attack, just like him attacking Ceasar and Buffalo5.
-
Fish are strong, but got fodderized by the dwarve's constructions.
-
BELLAMY!!! I never thought I would love you!!! RESPECT
-
So the weakness of Law's OP devil fruit is the most unoriginal drawback… it makes me weaker. I guess his Devil fruit runs on Magicka or something and he doesn't have any potions left lol. I still hope Oda explains this a little bit more.
-
Seems that Law specifically wanted Usopp and Robin. Cool planning
-
I'm gonna say that Block C starts at 3:00 pm, the same time as the exchange. Dofla is a genius mastermind :ninja:
-
-
Yeah, but I could've sworn Bruce Lee wore something like what Luffy wears in one of his movies. Maybe I'm just losing it, IDK.
Actualy thats probably true, I dont know all of his movies to be honest and the yellow/black outfit is just the most famous I think.
-
Is the "law weakness" thing a bad translation? I think it just drains his energy like it would for someone who runs or whatever.
Also I'm reallllly confused on the theme of the island.
-
mhm rly makes me wonder why bellamy knows how strong luffy's haki got, also, barto's reaction was rly unexpected for me.
Nice to see usopp and robin taking care of the fighting fish fairly easily.
Really glad that law's got a flaw in is df ability, like most people i believe.
Dwarves eh? I can already see the kaido speculations going harcord. On the other hand, cant wait to see what they look like. What's for sure is that they seem to be small, strong, and really fast. Aka fairies.
Really good chapter in my opinion, and I'm really glad one piece is back.

It's an ad for Vol 70, in which Punk Hazard came to end, and the Straw Hats were just off the coast of Dressrosa. Not talking about current events (MP just left out the second sentence with the Vol 70 part).

Oh. Thank you!

My thoughts on this arc so far are well known. I have loathed everything about the tournament. So much so, that I thought it had been going on for ages. Thus, I was really surprised when I realized it has only been 8 chapters. So, over the 2 week break I re-read Dressrosa to date, and I found that, while it was slightly more enjoyable, I just still wasn't having it. I decided to read 710 and then take a break for a couple of months.
But then 710 happened.
It started off perfect, with that amazing colorspread. I just stared at it for an incredibly long time. Then we only spent 1 page on the tournament mess, and it was quite a good page. But then, my god, it happened. The best chapter since 701. The art was amazing, especially how Oda drew Green Bit. I just stared and stared at everything in this chapter. The comedy was top notch–easily the best it has been since 701. And the plot developments! Oh how they make me want the next chapter now!
This chapter is exactly why I was excited when Dressrosa. Seriously, how can you look at this chapter and be excited by the tournament in comparison? I just don't get it.
This chapter pulled me back in a big way. While I still wish the tournament had never happened, and while I still think it's the biggest momentum killer in the entire series, I am willing to slog through it, because it means we'll get more chapters like this. And I really am convinced that when this whole arc is said and done, the tournament arc won't bother me, because my biggest issue with it is having to sit through it means we get less focus on all the other plotlines which are infinitely more interesting.
All I can say is, this chapter pulled me back in. It was perfect. (For me, at least.) I give it 10 Caesar Mustaches.
-
Oda already setting up Law's defeat? Maybe…
Oh, also this:
"This hair style will awaken your deepest hidden powers! If you wear this afro, your punch will become stronger!!"Afro Franky FTW! lol
