Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs

Oh boy… well, he sure pushes all my right buttons. Now I'm looking forward to Winter Soldier even more, if that was possible.
-
….I just remembered I still haven't seen the first Captain America movie.
-
The marvel movies really are huge sausage fests

What's the matter with sausage, I happen to love sausage
-
There does need to be more ladies in these movies, and I do mean superladies.
Black Widow is great, but we need some Carol Danvers, Jessica Drew, Jennifer Walters, Wanda Maximoff, and most importantly, some Janet Van Dyne!
I know Wanda had been confirmed for Avengers 2, and if Janet isn't in Ant Man, I might commit murder. Maybe, we'll see.
-
She-Hulk would definitely be cool to see in the movie universe at some point, but Marvel might still want to develop the Hulk more first.
-
I'm okay with these movies being a Sausage Fest. Better than a Clam Bake in my book.
Avengers was so perfect cause it had all these awesomely handsome men doing their thang. And less romance clutter. Blackwidow luckily wasn't a major focus, and luckily, she's a super hero who doesn't have a completely impossible outfit. But it's still sexy enough for those who care about her in that fashion.
-
Oh you lustful wench you
-
Confirmed. God bless you Whedon.

this article version actually has a suggestion for who will play Scarlet Witch.
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=104443. Now any suggestions as to who is a good actor for quicksilver?

Here is my opinion of characters that I want to see down the line in the Marvel Movie Universe.
She-Hulk
Ms. Marvel
Runaways
ValkyrieFor She-Hulk, I'm hoping whenever they do the next Hulk movie, I'm hoping they aleast introduce Jen. I'm hoping that the Wasp will be in Ant man so that we get the last two original members of the Avengers into the movies.
-
If they ever do Ms. Marvel, I hope they just start her off as Captain Marvel. It goes better with her military background.
-
So… How do you guys think Thanos will be portrayed in Guardians of the Galaxy/The Avengers? Do you think they will pull some sort of Iron Man 3 "twist" with him, or keep him pretty faithful to the comics?
-
Thanos is too big a villain for an Mandarin-style twist.
-
Will he have the Infinity Gauntlet? Even though he doesn't use it all the time, that's like…his signature item.
-
-
Ah, Thanos… One of the best super villains of all time.

He would have to infiltrate Asgard to get it, as it's locked up in the vault there. It's a possibility, but since Thor isn't the last film before Avengers 2, I doubt it.

I could see him get that though, in the post-credit clip or something of Thor 2 (or in a post-credit clip during either Captain America 2 or Guardians of the Galaxy, even during the Guardians of the Galaxy) It doesn't have to be the final movie before The Avengers 2 to work, in my opinion.
Marvel has confirmed Thanos to appear in multiple Marvel movies (i.e. Guardians of the Galaxy) before he plays the major role in The Avengers series.

I just saw Iron Man 3. It was awesome, as expected. Here's my thoughts on the Mandarin:
! I admire the twist as I DID NOT see it coming. As someone who has no knowledge of the comics whatsoever the lore means nothing to me, so I have no problem with them not using the typical terrorist thing and I thought Guy Pearce actually did a really good job as Mr. Welding-Torch, as I called him. Or as this movie's version of The Mandarin, which others have pointed out, not just a stand in, so it apparently could be argued that yes, The Mandarin was the true villain of the movie.
! What did bug me was Ben Kingsley not getting to be the big bad. He did a great job in both roles, but I would have liked him to actually be The Mandarin too, as cliche as it might have been. It did feel like a waste of Ben Kingsley, I loved all his broadcast speeches, and I was looking forward to having him go toe to toe with Iron Man. It's a shame. -
! What I find weird is people said The Mandarin shouldn't of had the magic rings (even though their alien technology, which would have fit with the overarching theme going on right now in the Marvel movie storyline) because they're too weird. Yet the movie has a virus that turns people into super soldiers (with enchanced strength, agility, endurance, and regeneration), that, can warm up their body temperature to 3000 degrees celsius, make them explode, and even allows them to breathe fire.

Because Harry potter is over and with it the magic boom
-
Just saw Iron Man 3 earlier today.
! That part in the final battle when all 40-something spare suits rocketed in to help save the day, and Tony's just casually directing them all? OMG.
! Also, Pepper got to give an alarming amount of ass.
! I kind of saw the twist with the Mandarin coming. I'm not sure HOW, though. Must have been something subtle that my subconscious picked up on but didn't tell the rest of me about. All in all, I agree with liking it more than IM2 but not quite as much as IM1.
-
I don't know if any of the Iron Man sequels can beat Iron Man 1. That's a very solid origin movie.
Now Thor on the other hand probably had the weakest of the Marvel origin movies so far so I'm really looking forward to Thor: The Dark World.

! I don't know jack about the rings so their presence meant nothing to me. And given that it was all a ruse anyway, they were probably fake.

I really hope this one is good, I really really like what I'm seeing.
I'm always appreciative if a super hero action flick can have some exotic elements, be it location or enemies. It seemingly focusing on steel to steel action is also rather refreshing hope that yields some amazing choreographies.
-
Um, who's the lady with the lizard tongue?
-
That trailer looked good. Especially since it's being done by the lesser of the two marvel studios
-
-
Yay, Silver Samurai~
And what's Viper doing there…I've always liked Baron Zemo better...
-
Maybe they thought a guy with a bag perma glued to his head would be a little silly
-
I'm sorry, those smoldering eyeholes in his mask really get me going…
-
The Silver Samurai looks very cool so far. For those wondering, Viper/Madame Hydra runs the Hand.
-
Did they make the Silver Samurai into some cyborg/robot suit akin to ironman? I prefer the old Silver Samurai - man in traditional armor relying on his amazing fighting skills using either a strong or cursed sword.
-

I hope not, since that would be similar to when Fox F-ed up Deadpool in the last Wolverine movie. I know he's taller than Wolverine in the comics (6'6" vs 5'3").

I thought I saw at least something like that in the trailer, when Wolverine is sleeping on a mat. We'll have to see more to get a better idea of the Silver Samurai's role, but I think he definitely will be working with Madame Hydra.
-
What I think will happen is the Silver Samurai will start out as, well…a normal, but exceptional, samurai warrior. Then he's going to lose to Wolverine some, and then get some type of super suit/whatever that can compete far better against Wolverine in combat.
-
Isn't SS a mutant?
-
Isn't SS a mutant?
… blushes I had forgotten that he was! I had to go look it up. The comics I read (1980s to early 2000) that showed SS never played a big spotlight on his mutant powers. Reason why he usually used it with his swordsmanship so fans would usually just remember the sword but not the mutant powers. ...that's why I was thinking of cursed swords (well he DID use one at one time but it wasn't the reason for his powers)
Went to Marvel wiki to freshen up on his powers=
"Tachyon Field: Ability to generate a tachyon energy field from within his body. Though he can focus this energy through anything. He typically focuses this field through his sword, allowing it to cut through almost any substance. "This gives a reason why the movie would be fu%^ed up to make the Samurai a ironman-like suit. With his own mutant powers SS doesn't need any robot suit or a 'cursed' sword to fight Logan (I refuse to call Wolverine any other name like James)

Wolverine will probably cut him up resulting in him being forced into a suit. Because according to aforementioned Wikia page: "The Silver Samurai was able to run Wolverine through with one of his swords, however Wolverine grabbed the Samurai by his right forearm and severed his hand at the wrist with his claws, leaving the Samurai kneeling on the floor cradling the bloody stump where his hand once was."
(Let's assume Wolverine cuts off more than just an arm)
Or maybe they should've just consulted with Marvel Studios on how to properly treat an Asian character while staying true to the source material?

I don't think Marvel cares. You saw what happened to the Mandarin in Iron Man 3. lol
-
Whoa, like … probably crossover? Now that sounds interesting.

A huge "screw you" from Fox.

So is this a way to shut down any possibility of Pietro being in Avengers 2?
Low blow Fox…low blow...

Of course not. Both companies can use Quicksilver.

A-are they not going to use black panther, ant-man and wasp anymore? Why Scarlet witch and Quick Silver right now? (Though nvm, the shock of them being in it this early would be cool I guess)
I even thought they were leading into it since they mention vibranium reserves in Africa.
THey're making me sad. And you wouldn't like me when I'm sad. ;_;

This kind of trolling should be encouraged. Last week people were pissed that Marvel was using characters they couldn't use the backstory of instead of much better superheroes like Ms. Marvel, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. This is what you get when you use characters that are more well-known as mutants (Quicksilver was in every X-Men cartoon) with sketchy rights just to outrun (hur hurr) DC in getting the first speedster on the big screen.
-
Wasn't Black Panther tenatively put out there for Marvel Phase 3?
