@LostTimeLord:
A review for the Movie 1-3 Collection has appeared: http://www.myreviewer.com/DVD/164132/One-Piece-Movie-Collection-1/164194/Review-by-Jitendar-Canth
Technical stuff worth noting:
- Apparently Movie 2 is called 'Adventures On Clockwork Island' on the subs, but 'Adventure of Spiral Island' on the cover/menu.
- The subs aren't consistent with FUNi's/Viz's translation ("Rubber Rubber" in place of "Gum-Gum", "Beli" in place of "Berry" etc.)
- The audio is in stereo.
- Supposedly the video transfer is pretty dated.
Not surprisingly, this release sounds very bare-bones.
I was watching my copy last night, the video quality is pretty awful (at least on the first two films, haven't watched the third yet).
And MangaUK are definitely using their own subtitle script, I doubt Funi would ever use the words 'bloke' or 'nicked'.
I'm not disappointed I brought them, but if/when there's a Funi release I'll probably replace them.
Update:- Watched Movie 3, and there is a big improvement in the video quality. Still not fantastic, but it doesn't look like it was made in the eighties like the first two.
On the downside though, despite mentioning it on the back cover, the set doesn't seem to include the Soccer King short.
