That's what I thought too, but I thought they'd be too far away to do that. I'm wondering if another Nobel came in to aid them.
-
I wonder if the author's were originally planning on doing something with that red head kid, but scrapped it. Earlier in the series they went into detail about how his body was superior to that of a normal human, but hen he sorta fell off after M-21 became really involved in the story. Originally I was thinking they were going to have him be a werewolf or something, but I guess M-21 has replaced him.

Yeeah. I kept hoping they'd go somewhere with it especially after the fake school fitness and intelligence testing. They are hardly shown interacting anymore.
-
Its still too early to scrap those types of thoughts though…Shin woo could achieve some type of modification...powers at anytime...who knows...he might actually be the same as Frankenstein...a superior human. :S

Did Frank start out superior on his own though? Or was it from his experiments?
-
Frankenstein is always referred to as 'a human who achieved/acquired power', so we are meant to believe he did so via experimentation. Still, I also wonder about Shinwoo, but I don't think the authors forgot about them or anything… it was just last arc that they were being scouted for enhancement with the KSA.
-
And you never know, they may get seriously hurt this time, requiring them to be "fixed up".
-

Little is known about FStein's past, but I believe he was born with superior intellect, he used it to augment his physical and mental capabilities giving him superhuman abilities.

The original plot is a lot different than what the story has become now. Back then it was heavily centred around the kids, but I guess the authors felt Rai and co. saving them each time was too repetitive. It ended up shifting from a story about a Noble and his human friends to a Noble who is the great protector and equalizer of the greater powers in the story. Although they might have revisited the idea during the KSA mini arc, I'm assuming it didn't flow with what the authors already made apparent in the past without retconning a lot of info. Namely, in order for Shinwoo to become a viable fighter he'd have to be experimented on; Modified humans are looked down upon by Lukedonia and they were a key factor during Roctis and co.s betrayal 500 years prior to the start of the story. Therefore, they couldn't really add him without messing up what was already established.
I don't think you can compare Shinwoo to Frankenstein in any sense. Shinwoo is just an above average brawler whose skills have increased due to near death events. Frankenstein on the other hand appears to be a scientist who modified himself into a super human. When Rai first sealed his power it was because Rai caught him experimenting in Lukedonia. Moreover, his experiments were discussed during the beginning of the current arc. It's really comparing apples and oranges; you've got mini Bruce Lee vs. Doctor Frankenstein the mad scientist who dealt with human experimentation.
-
Shinwoo does have the fighting "experience" that was dealt with at the beginning of this arc though, so if he were ever modified– to save his life, for example, or because Crombel got him, etc-- then he'd be a proficient fighter like Frankenstein in that he's skilled enough to take down stronger opponents by using his experience to his advantage. But yeah, it's doubtful at this point that anything would happen to Shinwoo, particularly because of the emphasis on them living a normal life.

Raws are out! i thought seira would fight 8th elder
! She's out of commission. She may be a clan leader, but she's really young and weak.
Traitor clan leaders > Current clan leaders
Current clan leaders > Seira
! I think it's safe to assume at this point that Frankenstein and Rajak (and maybe Rael) will be the central fighters in this arc while everyone else plays a supporting role.
! Although Rael is weaker than Seira, she's pretty injured and he at least inherited Ragar's soul in his weapon. -

My problem with noblesse at the moment is the poor writing. The elders have been foreshadowed so much throughout the series, to have 6 of them thrown out in such quick succession is pretty underwhelming. Usually each character gets a good bit of screen time and development before an arc comes to a climax and thats whats been so good throughout the entire series, these elders just haven't gotten any individual character development so the battles suffer because of this. If the author keeps on the same path then it'll be a few more poorly written arcs before the elders are all dead and the series wont have much else to go on after that.
Personally I wanted Ikhan and Shinwoo to join the KSA and slowly have their strength built so at the end of the series when Rai is near dead and the other good guys cannot handle Crombel (or whoever the main villain is at the end) they come in and save the day.

AHahahahahaha…Damn You Frankenstein!...that made my day. XD

Nice, that fiery woman seems stronger than Frankenstein.

lol 16 characters of never

What is Takeo turning into? Others seem to have a werewolf base or frankentein monster like appearance. But I'm drawing a blank on why he's turning grey.

He has that skin color whenever he takes that certain pill that boosts their abilities. If you look carefully at the panels…you will see the capsule.

The only werewolf characters are M-21 and the 8th (??) Elder; all others have just been generic experiments– Tao, Takeo, and the rest of DA-5 had the skin color change when they used their D pills. (Like Renegadesoul said). I think M-24 was supposed to be distantly connected to Nobles. Anyway, probably should avoid using "frankenstein monster like appearance" when one of the story's main characters is named Frankenstein. Haha.

Yeah lol. I couldn't think of what else to call it. Technically they are "his" monsters now.

"….................................."
I seriously hope that scene with them all eating the pill was a form of mid battle comic relief.
-
yeah that was stupid i mean really stupid

Yeah worst thing ever.

Early Trans is out: http://mngcow.com/Noblesse/275/! HOLY FUCKING SHIT FRANKENSTEIN!!! YOU MAGNIFICENT BEAST!!!
! Also Rai woke up. I wonder how useful he'll be after resting for… a few weeks? A month? -
Chapter is out in your usual scanlation sites.
Lol…that purple skin...double edge scythe like weapon...reminds of Illidan from WoW. XD
Anyways....damn Yuri escaped...but it was fun seeing Rael torture the heck of that annoying poison spitting brat. So satisfying. hehehehe
-
I'm glad Yuri and Mark escaped the series' seemingly inevitable introduce-and-die-or-be-redeemed disease. Though Yuri has thus far always been immune to that. Also glad that RoboElder died, as he is a disposable tin can anyway. Now if only the other elders leave without more casualties… and without Rai getting involved. There's no way Franky can believably defeat the remaining three elders, even with help from Rael/Rajak or Rajak with a completed soul weapon, so while there are a ton of directions this can go, I simply hope there are no more dead elders and Rai doesn't get involved.
-
that was interesting chapter,Rai finally woke up.He might join battle at the end of the next chapter
-
I'm almost willing to be he'll have to come out just to reign in Frankenstein. He'll do it with a stoic and stern look. Frankenstein will look embarassed and stop.
-
I can imagine Rai simply saying "Kneel" and ending the battle.
But before that, we have yet to see that secret move Frankenstein was practicing in his basement.

I think this time, that will not work. The clan leaders in Lukedonia were able to break off Rai´s mind control by themselves and these traitors are supposed to be a lot stronger.
-
wooooow, noblesse was AMAZING THIS WEEK!!!!!!!! frankenstein has been holding this back for so long, no more doubts.
sn: he really does look like illiadan, even with this weapon
-
The chapter everyone was waiting for… There is just too much awesome...
! motherfucking blood wings…
-
I hope this doesn't become a long term issue.
I have a pet peeve about series of any type of media has a character whos power draws away thier lifeforce. It generally becomes a reaccurring issue where the characters are constantly griping about so and so's health until they eventually die at the end of the series, or nothing comes of it.
Related: I was thankful when they showed Luffy learned a more efficient way of using gear 2 after the time skip.

Well…That's been part of Rai since the early parts hasnt it?
But I agree, I'm not a fan of that in general. But I think if handled well a character that has to deal with using an ability that actually has a negative side effect can be interesting. Means they can't spam a hax ability.

That's my main gripe with it though, it usually ends up with them using their power fairly often, while the other characters constantly worry about there life being in danger. If Rai had stayed asleep, and not got all mega death wing, I wouldn't have brought this up at all.

I kinda feel this will be the last time in a long time he gets to use it. He got woken up from his nap earlier than expected it seems. Maybe after this he'll be down again and then we'll get some Shinwoo plot stuff if they ever find out.
-

Well that's his character: The single strongest Noble who can kill other Nobles (including, from what it looks like, the Lord).
Considering he's been alive for a long time (but we can't really tell how long), and the fact Nobles can choose to die whenever they want to, it could easily end with Rai dying after protecting/saving the world. He's already a living legend, so it makes no difference whether he lives or dies past the final battle; the werewolves are scarce in number and the surviving Nobles can maintain the balance of power.
I'm guessing that after this confrontation, there will be a timeskip as the Union realizes that Rai is alive. Rai can sleep (although at this point, I don't think it really matters how long he sleeps since 820 years did very little for him), Lukedonia and the Union can prepare for a large-scale war, and Frankenstein can upgrade his minion units.
It'd be interesting if Rai's life force would be replenished every time he killed a full blooded Noble (i.e. Clan Leaders). At least that way we wouldn't need a time skip and his role as the eternal protector would have some merit - otherwise, I agree with you that being OP with serious HP recoil is just dumb.

I'm geniunely curious here, since I'm not sure myself why I'm still reading this manwha except perhaps out of habit. This story sucks though, right? And the characters are all sort of 2d and kind of bland and generic? Right? And the fight scenes are kind of the same thing over and over with very little in the way of tactical analysis or anything like that - right?

It is kinda an autopilot thing. I don't dislike it. But it's got no substance really either. It's fun enough that I can keep reading it though and not hate myself for keeping up with it like I did for Air Gear. I'm actually still curious enough to see what if anything happens to Shinwoo.

Agree with everything besides the characters being generic. Yes, there is not really that much depth to the character but they are still unique enough in my opinion.
-
I think that a soul weapon can somehow replenish Cadiz Itrama Di Raizel's life force. Just a random theory though
-
If this keeps up I'm not going to have barely anything left to read. Another series is going on break. Noblesse is on a 6 week hiatus following today's chapter. Their other series Ability will also be on a 6 week hiatus following it's Thursday chapter.
-
Nooooo. 6 weeks? Ugh. Oh well. It ended on a farly light hearted chapter…But I'm wonder if that's another Noblesses...
-
That new guy is probably the werewolf's version of a noblesse. Probably the alpha werewolf or something.

Ohh maybe. The silver hair does seem to be a common thing with the werewolves.

Well it was explicitly stated that there's only one. A werewolf one would make sense though.
