Anyone here feel that Ichigo's pulling a 'Naruto' by futurely relying on the Hollow?
Bleach Discussion

-
No not really.
-
Actually he has to be stronger than the hollow to use its power, so it won't really be pulling a Naruto.
-
Not so much stronger than the Hollow in terms of brute force, but more like having a stronger will than the Hollow.
And yeah, I can see the parallels, but the Hollow is pretty different from the Kyuubi.
-
"Tonight Tonight Tonight" 4th OP by the Beat Crusaders:
"Hanabi" 7th ED by Ikimono-gakari
ED
-
Tonight is absolutely awesome, I still have to see the ending
-
Glad they return to the style used in the first opening. One of Bleach's strength is a good sense of fashion, and seeing the black shinigami uniform all the time can be boring.
But they show so many new bounto… tis gonna be a looong filler arc.

There was new ones? I didn't really notice.
But the OP itself kinda points to a long arc I guess since we see so many filler characters within it but then again the animation could be changed. . But meh. Not that I mind, as at least these fillers are pretty decent.
New OP is good though, ED is not really too good, but not the worst either.
-
Well, it looks like Bleach is going the OP route and doing a long filler arc, rather than lots of little ones like Naruto.
-
Goodness. I actually find myself anticipating this filler arc.
-
Bleach has one of the best fashion sense ever I say…
Urahara look really awesome in the OP! -
i hate ths filler, cause the events coming up are so much better than this - unlike Naruto.
-
Always been a fan of the Beat Crusaders and it's definitely a hip opening with plenty of style.
As for the filler arc itself, I've been pretty indifferent to the whole thing until recently. Why the change in attitude? That would be due to Ichinose Maki.
Now it's turned into a decent little arc. Though Rukia still running around with her powers still not restored hurts my brain a bit. -
Well, yeah, that's the reason she STAYED in SS, to get her powers back. It looks like no Sodeno Shirayuki for a while. sigh
This weeks chapter is all kinds of cool and ominous. Where will Ichigo's allegiance lie now that he's gone through with the transformation? And cliffhanger! Dun dun dun! Aizen's true motives as narrated by Yamamoto-taichou. (actually the true motives thing strikes me as a little cheesy, but whatever)
And Orihime continues to shine. God, Kubo is doing great things with her character.
Oh, and someone on the LJ came up with a great nickname for Hollow Version Ichigo: Man-Thighs!
-
I just started reading Bleach today, and I've really gotten into the story. I've been reading scanlations, and I'll probably start watching the anime after reading the most recent chapters.
-
Is what he just went through the same as what happens to a Hollow when they become an Allancar? Because from how I saw it, he shed his Hollow skin, and no longer had the 'hole' in his torso.
So… Would that make him a Vizored? confused
-
SuNa don't bother, noone among us really knows what/where/how/why so it's a waste time trying to think about it
-
Well yeah, the few last chapters were there to make Ichigo have control over his Hollow, and thus become a Vaizard.
He wears a mask in the end as all the Vaizards do, so it was successfull…Ichigo is officially fully a Vaizard now I believe. The arrancar thing is whole different story.
I mean, arrancars were Hollows in the first place, and removed their masks.
Vaizards are death gods who gained Hollow powers. -

What I think is that since Ichigo was initially getting battered in the parallel world, the hollow was taking over more and more in the real world. However, at the end, he fully turned the tables around and won, thus shattering the hollow "skin".
-
Chapter 221 was a bit dull TBH nothing special happens in it :/

It goes like this:
Arrancar - begin as Hollows, but manage to shed their masks to take on the powers of a Shinigami. All the Arrancar we've seen so far still have bits of their masks and a hole in their chests/stomachs, so it means their transformations are not yet complete.
Vizored - begin as human spirit, turn Shinigami, in some way (it's still not fully explained) tap into their inner Hollow (which I guess everybody has) and dominates said inner Hollow to take on Hollow Powers on top of the Shinigami powers. Hence why they only wear their masks rather than go full Hollow.

I must say, episode 77 was pretty good for filler. Episode 78 airs May 2nd. -
I bet you anything hollow ichigo comes out soon. It has too or there will plot holes.
-
should i watch the fillers, should i not? i'm still wondering…. i left after the labyrinth ep because it was boring, but now everybody seems to enjoy the current eps... still the fact that renji meets uarahara and rukia is back bothers me...
-
I say don't watch them , i even consider the latest Naruto filler to be better that this.
but the new chapter spoiler is fun (to me as i expected something like that ) and i bet it'll start a gazzillion prediction discussions

Do you realise how many plot holes have been made already just from Renji and Rukia being on Earth?
-
true..or they could get there memory wipped at the end.
-
At mangahelpers, the new bleach is out. Chad is training against Bankai Renji.
It seems to me like a good chapter. -
Who's the king ?Who's the king ?Who's the king huh ? Who's the king ? Who's the king ? Who's the king huh ha
sorry bout that. Just keeps going throuhg my mind after reading the chapter.

Don Kanonji?

For those who read the SOULS Character Data book, there was a Soul Society Hierarchy chart in there, and the Royal Family/King was at the top. Now Kubo is finally brining said king into the story, although no details are known other than he keeps to himself.
The whole "Spirit King" thing reminds me of Shaman King, but hopefully Kubo will add more spice to the mix.
Some people have hypothesized that Isshin is actually the guardian to the Royal Key, which I think is plausible.
-
So the new key will be generated right where the guardian of the old key is? hmm that's cheesy if you ask me and iff the foil Aizen in his plan he can still get the key and go attack the king. Oh well if it really happens that way at least i hope it'll be written good.
But that's 4 months away in the story i wonder how long this will be in real time. -
I got Bleach No. 1 (English) and read it this morning at work (who comes in to do their taxes on Easter Sunday?).
Frankly, Kon's weirdness was the tease for me wanting to see it; disappointed he shows up later.
The design of the Hollows let me down: I'd expect them to retain more signs of who they were in life, especially if some of them are pissed about being abandoned by the people in their life. Or at least some more diversity. The (admittedly technically different) Akuma in D. Gray-Man seemed to do that style thing a bit better IMO.
-
D.Gray-Man is all kinds of awesome (and I want it to come back already!! How long does it take to heal a hand injury, Hoshino-sensei!?), but I don't try to compare the Hollows to AKUMA. They're slightly different.
AKUMA are more akin to an evil spirit machine that takes over a soul and does its dark lord's bidding, whereas Hollows are a person's evil side personified with a mask.
-
I was speaking appearance-wise. The Hollows in book 1 all seemed to look pretty similar, like completely no-signs-of-original-person, which is not what I'd expect from their nature.
-
Those Hollows are what we call cannon-fodder filler. There was no reason to give them personality since they would have no real impact on the story whatsoever, with the exception of Orihime's brother.
And all Level 1 AKUMA look nearly identical, they only get individual looks when they go Level 2 or higher. And even then, it's not so much a relflection of the soul as it is the AKUMA machine that dominates the soul.
Speaking of which, did you see that Level 3 AKUMA that showed up recently? Intense!
-
No, actually, I was attempting to compare, perfectly honestly, one book of Bleach v. the D. Gray-Man (hey, does he have the Will of the D? XD) preview in ASJ.
-
It just struck me:
That Key to the King is a lot like the philosopher's stone from FMA.I mean, they both require a lot of human sacrifices to be created, and both are red/crimson/scarlet.
-
Huh? I must have missed it but where does it say that the key (or the P. stone) is red/crimson/scarlet in color?
-
The Philosopher's Stone has always been red in myth/legend. Another name for it is the Red Elixer. Although I don't remember hearing anything about the key being red.
But apart from the (apparent) similarity in color and the need for human/soul sacrifices, the key and the Philosopher's Stone have nothing in common. The key is merely a gateway to the Spirit King, the Philosopher's Stone grants you unlimited alchemic ability.
-
Chapter 223 is called "The crimson creation"…that's referring to the key.
-
If the king is only a representative figure, why would Aizen want to kill him? >.>;; Unless, of course, it grants him powah or something..
-
He's not just a representative figure, he's the Spirit King. He probably has access to A LOT of power.
And if you recall, Aizen said his goal is to stand on heaven, i.e, become God.

The script for 224 gives some new info -
! Momo is convinced that Gin is behind it all and he manipulates Aizen - even though that is expected from her it's still hard to take. But i guess she's just "human" afterall. I wonder if this means she'll be fighting against our heroes sometime in the future .
-
The script for 224 gives some disturbing info -
! Momo is convinced that Gin is behind it all and he manipulates Aizen
! That's just wishfull thinking from Hinamori if you ask me.
She's obsessed with Aizen and wasn't there to witness Aizen beating the shit out of everyone.
! But you never know with Gin! God I love that guy. -
woah woah woah
! Hinamori lived?! She got stabbed by aizen. I think he was talking about hitsugyas vice captian with the huge boobs
-
! There's a spoiler pic. Hinamori definitely is alive. And c'mon, she was rescued by Unohana, the best healerin SS, so it would make sense that she would. Besides, it's manga.
! And yes, the poor girl is quite brainwashed. Not totally, I don't think, but her love and admiration for Aizen is so great that it's damn near impossible for her to think badly of him. sigh This will not go well.
! But to me the more interesting part of the chapter was the conversation between Urahara and Renji. Not only did Urahara trick Renji into becoming the Houseboy of urahara-shoten, but it's revealed that Renji has a big question to ask Urahara (and if he works for 3 months then Urahara will tell him), AND that Urahara won't help train Chad because his bankai is not something to be used for training. In other words, it's too dangerous.
! I must see Benihime Bankai NOW!! -
Maybe Renji will be able to goad him into using it. ^_^
-
! god dammit. I hate that she is alive. Then who were those guys in voume 21 (I am too lazy to look at my tanko right now) looking at whose grave. I am so fing pissed about that. It made hitsyuga's fight againist aizen pretty much pointless
-
Maybe you should reread the last chapters of the SS arc and pay more attention to details. <_<
