It's even sadder that you owned the books. I just borrowed them for the library to play with.
Maybe that's even sadder.

I do that too. And she always looks back at me with that "you're an idiot" look that cats make.

Goosebumps had flip corners too?? I honestly don't remember, I only ever read one of them.
The Animorphs main books were kind of dull, but the prequel ones holy shiiiit <3 <3 <3 My 10 year old ass loved that shit.
I confess I am a complete and utter fool and completely forgot to request payment and now I am out of money AND have no food and will have to wait til Thursday to get any money…. and I have to work all day Wednesday... brb going to see how long it takes me to freeze to death in the pool (its better then trying to work through massive blood sugar crashes)

I'm not sure myself. I might have mixed it up with Animorphs since both books had the same amount of popularity or following during the time.
-
Hmmm I really couldn't say for sure >_> I have no idea if I still have that book. There were some other books and series that did the flip images at the time, I remember these Remember The Year or whatever books having them as well as some others.
-
Some of the Goosebumps books did (Yes I own those as well)
The early published books didn't have them, but I guess the publisher for Goosebumps began to realize how much kids loved those things so they started incorporating them into the later releases.
The cornertip pics in Animorphs still shitted all over them though!

OH GOD WHO THE FECK BROUGHT UP GOOSEBUMPS JESUS FECK THEY HAD THAT SHET IN THE PRIMARY SCHOOL LIBRARY AT THE SCHOOL I WENT TO AND MY GOD THAT SHIZ WAS SCARY
It creeped me out honestly.
Every Tuesday I think it was, you could borrow a book for about a week then you had to return it and if you returned it late then yeah. :IThough this mentioning of books reminds me of the time I almost read the full first few books of the Rainbow Fairies bunch… read all the way to Indigo in one day but I was forced to stop and was like 'OTL I WANNA FINISH' and mum was like 'IT'S LATE GO TO SLEEP'
I could probably read those in less than a day now but at the time it was an achievement.
-
oh my god Animorphs. that takes me back. Never did finish reading the series, but I remember parts of the show with odd clarity. I also remember the Wishbone series. good times…

Confession: I judge people by their icon making abilities.
Confession 2: I call them "icons", not "avatars". Latter just sounds lame.

I judge people by how often they change their avatars. I'm a snob. :V

I judge people by how often they change their avatars. I'm a snob. :V
So what does that make Wolfwoof for you?
-
I judge people by what they type though sometimes their avatars/signatures can be influential.
Especially if my mind can't comprehend the meaning of some words…? Not a good thing.
Like, say, someone is arguing about something and I'm unsure which side I'm on, then I look to the avatar and it's a character I dislike...
Yeah.
I tend to resist responding in case I misunderstand things, honestly. -
I wonder if people judge me by my avatar.
I wonder if they know it's actually me in my avatar.
I wonder how many people think of me as a guy -
I wonder how many people think of me as a guyEVERY.SINGLE.ONE OF THEM.
:P
(I jest but yeah, it's a bit of an odd avatar so people are probably gonna be thrown out on a loop….if that's how the phrase goes)

I don't mind people judging me to be Hugh Laurie.

So what does that make Wolfwoof for you?
I am a god to his people. The parrots worship me every non-holiday tuesday

I'm straight edge, as it's called. I have never smoked, drank or done drugs–and I have no plans to.

Same. Doesn't appeal to me.

I use to do both, but I've stop. Been on a roll for about 9 months. Besides… drinking sucks anyway. I respect the straight edge life and I'm willing to adopt it.

Cute. Yes I know that you're joking, but there are some that equate Straight edge to the video you posted. But a lot of athletes are straight edge as well. Including this guy:

Just means I won't die of heart disease or lung cancer (grandfather had to get an entire lung removed because he got lung cancer from smoking, and had to have heart surgeries to unclog his arteries; kept smoking, died of massive heart attack that scarred 78% of his heart), liver…issues (that can make you bleed from EVERY hole on your body, how my uncle died), or throw my life away/rot in prison.

No argument from me here. Ned happens to be the healthiest old guy in Springfield. Makes sense.

Don't want to sound like a downer, but just because you remain abstinence from drugs and alcohol doesn't mean your impervious to cancer or any other diseases. Sure, staying away from those things do help, but still…
Also, drinking a glass of wine everyday is considered a healthy practice for the heart.

Heck… I don't know ANYONE who has gotten lung cancer who hasn't/doesn't smoke; no lie. Thought it was pretty much impossible to get unless you smoke or take in second-hand smoke.

Are there alcoholics in your family? Because alcohol isn't inately addictive and can be really easily moderated. Unless you hang out with terrible idiots who get you stone drunk constantly it's utterly harmless. It's about the drinking culture not the drinking.
If you just crack a bottle or can open at a barbecue, you're as healthy as any straight edge person cares to be.
Red Wine is even healthy for your HEART no less, if you drink it like y'know an adult and not a Phi Sigma Alpha member that is.–- Update From New Post Merge ---

You don't seriously think the only reason people get cancers is substance abuse do you?

Kinda-sorta…
My grandfather/grandmother on my father's side USE to drink quite a bit, though really never had any of the negative...emotions alcoholics have. That same grandmother also use to smoke, but she's quit both--and my grandfather only drinks occasionally now.
And like I said, my grandfather on my mother's side use to smoke (and died because of it), and her younger brother WAS an alcoholic (and died because of it). Other than that...nothing. And I know drinking responsibly won't kill you, but, just, have no interest in it.
And no. I don't think cancer is only caused by substance abuse, but some cancers sure as heck increase tenfold (like smoking to lung cancer).
-
The best friend of my mother died of breast cancer. Never smoked, was a very good person and only had a few glasses of wine here and there on occasions.
Now what.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Oh and my grandma died somewhere in her 60-70ies on a stroke. never smoked and never drank.
-
Both of my grandmother's died from colon cancer (that had spread to other organs). One of them smoked like 3 packs a day, the other never smoke or drank at all (but ate a lot of terrible diet food full of those nasty carcinogenic ingredients so, there's a possible reason there).
My grandpa has also smoked since he was 13, and is cancer free. A few years back they found the start of prostate cancer, but removed it and he continues to get checked from top to bottom yearly since, and he's totally clean. Has COPD though and the most annoying cough, but is in otherwise pretty good health.
You never know. Many smokers make it into old age, while many people who lead healthy lifestyles and follow healthy diets die of horrible diseases. There's a lot of factors that are in play to be considered.

Breast cancer isn't lung cancer. You don't inhale smoke with your breasts, last time I checked.
lol

I was just trying to make a point that healthy people die on cancer too, duh.
-
Dude smoking gives you all sorts of cancers, in fact smokers die from a whole lot more then just lung cancer.
And then a lot of other things can give you the same kind of cancers you might get as a result of smoking. Cancer is a mutation, with more causes and factors involved then what appears most obvious.
If it was so black and white, then no smoking and healthy lifestyles would save everyone.

Hey guys, some advice would be greatly appreciated on this.
[hide]Its about a girl and the situation I find myself in
Now technically I first met her during our freshman orientation week about two years ago and I honestly don't know why out of hundreds of people she was the one who stood out for me the most. Then in the second semester of my first year we had a class together where we spoke to each other like five times during the entire semester and after it was over I didn't see her again apart from brief glimpses at the campus.Last semester we had a Japanese class together and we got to talking where I came to find out that she liked anime and that we actually had similar tastes when it came to anime(the second person I know who does) and after that when we met in class we would talk about anime. During this semester I managed to hit her up and ask if she wanted to exchange some anime, she says yes and I go over to her place.
Thats when its like I discover a female version of myself where other than anime we have SO much in common its both very exciting and a little bit, lets say for a lack of a better term, creepy.I mean she likes Doctor Who, BSG, DS9, Spartacus, POTE, The Wire, Supernatural, taste in movies same thing, taste in music similar but also different in a good way(does that make sense), so we get to talking about the various tropes we like and dislike and its the same(I'm not exaggerating it got to a time where we were finishing each others sentences).
After that I'm home and am thinking, man that cannot be a coincidence, if I didn't know any better I would say its like a match made in heaven. Then my logical side kicks in and I realize I have no chance with her.
One reason been, we exist in two very different social classes and it is something that I honestly can't keep up with. I am not saying that she's materialistic but I know that she is used to a lifestyle that I can't even begin to approach(I can elaborate more on this if you want but I think the point is across). Two, first of all I don't have self esteem issues but its important to realize reality, is that I have seen guys who are admittedly way better looking and well off than me hitting on her and I'm like I can't compete with that.
Then there comes the big part, I have never in my short 20 years of life, actively hit on a girl(I really don't know how I could phrase this but I'll try explaining) . Now I don't mean that I've never been in a relationship with a lady, I have(though not many) but they have mainly been physical where there was no obligation to "complicate" things and usually I don't actually set out to even hit on them, its just something that happens(not implying that I am a lady's man). Basically its like this I learnt from experience that if I am interested in a lady I tell her(eight times out of ten they don't feel the same) or I read body language and I let my actions speak. So what I mean is I have no experience at all when trying to you know hit on someone.
I can't come out and outright tell her I like her because I have actually sabotaged a lot of my friendships with chicks when I do that and I don't want to do that in this case.
So I don't know what am even asking for specifically but any advice would be appreciated and I apologize if I couldn't articulate myself well, English is not my native language. Cheers and thanks[/hide]

If you're developing feelings for this girl then you might as well try to ask her out.
If you think you can remain friends without you falling deeper in love with her then do that I suppose.
But definitely don't try to stick around as a friend when you know you're going to love her more and more each day, because it will only hurt you at the end. And it may hurt her too.
All that social class stuff you were talking about, you're in college now. Social "classes" mesh together with each other all the time. Especially in relationships. If she likes you then what does it matter?
