cool, sigh I need to start reading them then. I got into comics because of Kitty Pryde …it could be agrued I got out of reading because of her too...or more like how writers are screwing over her character. First was Marvel's tendency to get her out of the team by having her get lost in space...the bullet was the 2nd time!
Seriously I nearly threw up when in early issues of Astoishing X-Men (think it was 1st) had her arguing with Scott, some shmuck-writer had her raise her hand up & gave her the stupidist line "I'm not a fighter" I nearly hit my head on the wall yelling W_T_F! They redeamed (slightly) themselves when Logan & Hank fought, and Kitty asked if Logan planned on fighting all of the team (He already had a skirmish with Scott), & Logan replied he had no plans on fighting her - it would hurt to much (for him).
Thankfully a better storyline came up and showed she kicks ass in her (yet another one for her YAY) mini-series "Shadow & Flame", I was quite happy that this comic showed her able to hold her own against Silver Samurai. Sure they had planned that for show against the Path, but the Samurai would not do that if he thought she was below him, he showed respect to her.
I didn't really read much of Ultimates, knew Kitty started and due to an agreement with her mom, she wasn't a fighter at first, knew she (like mainstream- 616 Kittty) would sneak out/into the missions. Last one I really read was Savage Land. I knew that she dated Peter Parker...but it sounds like they let her grow up (somethign some writers for mainstream Kitty seemed really relunctant to do)
