Maybe he wants to be #7, like the 5 boss moles in Earthbound that all claim proudly to be the 3rd strongest among them.
Well, seven is a lucky number after all.

Yeah, I think that's the actual order of their ranks as it is shown in chapter 32.
lol, the art is better and more detailed than hunter x humter
I wish they would turn this into an anime some day…
I wish they would turn this into an anime some day…
Maybe the anime would not have the charm the manga has + i fear that those panels would lack or at least have less impact in an anime
Yeah… Though, having no anime means no animated fights, which would be a missed opportunity to make epicness real.

Don´t get me wrong, they should definitely do an anime of this but i just wanted to say that it may not be as good as the poster above me imagines it to be

I know, a lot of humor can be lost in the adaptation, it was, for example, Sket Dance's case, besides many other things. Onepunch-Man seems to be one of those mangas that are better like that, as a manga, though the fights would be awesome animated, but then again it's going to depend on a decent animation studio that don't screw up with it.
Murata has actually done half the job for the animators in some of the scenes.
You know which ones I'm talking about.
I wish they would turn this into an anime some day…
only if every single frame is hand drawn by Murata himself.
If only cloning wasn't looked down upon.

Even the in-betweens,with the same quality as key frames.

Ah… Famous last words before masterpiece is turned into shit.
Hmm…What studio would be worthy enough to tackle this?
Gintama's study? Sunrise. They would work.
This manga is so… so. I have no words.
Hmm… I just noticed that Chapter 17 has been divided into two chapters since the Japanese official website.
So basically, Chapter 19 that listed in every manga-reading website is actually Chapter 18 of this series, Chapter 20 is actually Chapter 19 ,and so on.
I don't think so…
It's true that the chapter 18 is a continuation to 17, but 19 is 19 and 20 is 20.
No, look at this page http://www.batoto.net/read/_/147233/onepunch-man_ch19_by_no-group/2
The title page indicates that this is Chapter 18, not 19
The same goes to this one –-> http://tonarinoyj.jp/manga/onepanman/20/
The latter is Chapter19 not Chapter20, but the English scan version messed it up since they put Chapter17part2 as Chapter 18
See, I've done checking well before correcting others : )
It's true, didn't realize it before.
My bad.
But it's strange, because even the Young Jump site lists the same way as the scans.
Yep, it's messed up since the start (the Japanese website)
So I understand why there's some confusions in the Eng scan. It's not their false '@'
I noticed this issue because I saw that Ch.18 doesn't have title and title page, which is strange.
Thus I checked on the next chapter, and found this mistake : )

That's a possibility. It's happened with magi quite a bit -.-

We can only hope
@Sonic:
Ah… Famous last words before masterpiece is turned into shit.
It's sad how often this is true…
Hmm…What studio would be worthy enough to tackle this?
MADHOUSE - they did Death Note and Hunter x Hunter justice, they can do OPMan justice too.
The one that did Sword Art Online mebbe?
The format should be in the form of high-budget OAVs.
21 is up on mangapanda. It's pretty good but lacks a certain something. Looks like OPM and Genos are what's drawing all that shit to Zville.
The design of those heroes was hilarious
But… is Mangapanda the one translating this now? D:
They have been for a while.
Have them? It's funny because just now I noticed a difference on the translation's quality…
I really hope, that Boon do OPM again, they quality is much better than mangafail :/
This is my first time seeing it hosted om MP, and if you look at the post dates they all show today as being the add date. So I don't think they've been doing it for a while, though I didn't go back to check the previous chapters' watermarks.
I agree that Boon scanlations are better, but I also really like fast translations. So I'm torn. I'll probably read them again whenever they get posted on Batoto, and it's not like this is the sort of series where you only read each chapter once anyway.
oh man this series. soooo funny lol
Damn, I really hate water marks on MP site - -
and why don't they translate the chapter title like Boon's scanlation always did?
I want to know since I do a translation to my home's language, and I can't read Japanese.
Watchdog reminds me of this one character from MiXiM11 (Whose name I can't remember and i'm too lazy to look it up) the kid (from MiXiM11) power was brought on by pajama's that he wore, he had dog pajamas and dinosaur pajamas (No Maam should know who i'm referring to)
Very interesting story. I usually hate such manga with OP perfectionists as main characters, however I can`t exatly explain why, but I like this OP perfectionist from this manga. One punch man ftw! Looking forward to its developement.

I think it works with this character because he actually has a personality. His power is off the charts and very broken, but he's not overly smug. Just factual. Plus his design is removed from the bishies that seem to typically have the Mr. I Can Do No Wrong role. And he doesn't have a muddled back story. I highly doubt well get the reveal of "awesome lineage," or other tropes we typically get with main characters in Shonen.
but awesome lineage have nothing to do with how good or badly writen one characters is.. or shonen.. or typical.. one can be typical shonen character with awesome lineage and still awesome.

I feel awesome lineage is a cop-out in a story where the character spends time training to be as good as they are or started as an absolute nobody. I'm talking more specifically where it changes the character from being straight up normal to this being that has unlimited potential because mommy and daddy weren't normal and the character doesn't find out til after halfway through the story.
Basically the crap YYH, Naruto and Bleach pulled. It's just a trope I'm not fond of. I'm not totally in love with Luffy having the Will of D subplot or famous family, but I feel it was executed better than the other three since Will of D so far doesn't seem to have a tangible effect on Luffy. And he rarely encounters family and when he does it doesn't alter his abilities. It just acts as a plot nudge and isn't mentioned often.
Ichigo is just a straight up Gary-Stu at this point.
Naruto's lineage reveal borks the plot from part 1.
Yuusuke…completely random.
Awesome lineage is fine if it's been mentioned early on and is revealed properly.
There's a couple more that I was thinking of but my brain is running on too little sleep lol.
I like Saitama because he's fairly simple in his reasoning for becoming a hero and training his body. There's no tragic back story (so far). They left that to Genos which is perfectly fine. It's a nice offset to Saitama's character.
Blood Lad was pretty bad with that lineage crap.

i understand. and the end it will come down to personal preference. another thing is,
Awesome lineage is fine if it's been mentioned early on and is revealed properly.
this.. in the the execution and writing is what matter. one more for me is that, its okay even if it reveal later in the story whether as a twist or natural development as long as it is logical, nicely done and set up, and it doesn't contradict earlier story or blatantly retcon or a plothole or will create more plotholes.
thanks for the reply..
Saitama's haxx works perfectly because this is a comedy.
…and he is so awesome because he did some push-ups!I don't want secret lineages and crap.

If he ever gets a lineage it will most likely be completely bizarre and unrelated to his powers at all.

Naruto's lineage could still work with part one plot.
Despite being the son of the fourth hokage he was still hated and feared by most of the village and so it was still a growing up story. What really fucked up part one's plot was saying Naruto was the savior from the prophecy.

I still think it makes part 1 completely stupid. The behavior of the villagers and ninja completely unacceptable. Even if not everyone knew the Hokage's wife was pregnant there were some but people still treated him like crap. Even though it was played out to be some honorable sacrifice yada yada yada.

But that was the point. Naruto was an orphan and people gave no two shits about it. They just said "he has the fox inside him, so he's dangerous and crazy, etc, etc".
You think that if Naruto was born from two nobodies it would be more acceptable the way the villagers treated him?
Can we keep all talk related to Naruto or any other awful series in their godawful threads, please?
It's like contagious the way the discussion spreads around.
Finally ONE finished chapter 88 ,anyone saw that awesome page?
Duuuuude. That's gonna be awesome.
Chapter 88…. Oh god we'll have to wait forever.
I'm sort of surprised/disheartened that nobody's done any trans of the original series yet. I'd love to read more and this is a situation in which I wouldn't mind 're-reading' the series, what with the amazing art and phenomenal overall quality of the retelling.
