The PS Vita is a pretty incredible piece of hardware, I really dig it? Purely as just hardware goes this rocks.
I'm especially impressed by how fluid the touch screen usage is in stuff I've played so far. Gravity Rush uses touch screen swipes to dodge attacks or as a general roll-in-the-direction-you-swipe function and it feels kind of natural. Instead of dreading it, it feels just as organic as using the right analog stick to control the camera, or something. I don't even mind using the tilt function to do that gravity surf ability?! What mad world have I fallen into.
I hope other action games can properly incorporate it like this, because whereas I hated using waggle on Wii just in general and never got used to it, I quite like it here.
Just general Vita thoughts is all. I've very much been enjoying my time with it and it's got such a big catalogue of games to play right now it's almost intimidating to think about getting caught up before even more stuff comes out I'm interested in. I beat Virtue's Last Reward, but still have to go through Gravity Rush here, Persona 4 Golden, I have DJ Max Technika tune to get, I wanna play that Katamari because fuckin' whatever I get Katamari urges we all do, and probably a few others I'm forgetting, not counting the PSN+ stuff I got like Retro City Rampage and Jet Set Radio (not exlcusive to vita but whatevs).
While precise touch screen stuff isn't QUITE as natural as using a stylus, obviously, in the case of a point-and-click style like virtue's last reward, other than that sort of usage I've been very pleased with the console. Not to mention just the way it feels in my hands is so great.
I really love you Vita and I'm confident you'll do just fine.
P.S. the UI is better than the PS3's which is kind of hilarious to me. Partly it's because it's a handheld and it gets past some of the wacky MEDIA CENTER stylings that the PS3 is forced into, but just in general it's a better interface. At least to me.
