Trigun Disscusion

Let`s discuss Trigun.
-
Ok lets talk about Trigun. My favorite character is Wolfwood, a priest that is a master gunsman , where kann you get something like that. I never expected it to be so funny, i actualy thought it is going to pe extremely serious.
But the first episode sure changed that idee(im talking abaut the part when he is attack and he's got no bullets and puts on that goofy face  ).
And don't forget
-
Trigun is one of my favorite anime. Though Cowboy bebop is more popular to the masses, I actually like Trigun better. The whole serios twist half way through, with his past and everything that happened, was a great story line.
I loved the depth of the charicter. He was goofy, fun loving. He was also loyal, and kind hearted. I love seeing a strong man, who isn't afraid to show his feelings. Plus, Vash just looks so cool. The red jacket, the golden locks of hair, the glasses; he's got style.
Most anime, I perfer the original voices. But for anime From Sunrise studios, I absolutly perfer the english voices. I think they did a better job finding apropriate voice actors than the jap versions. (tried listening to outlaw star in jap last night and wanted to barf) I think the english voices work better, cause all the series, are western based anyways.
spoiler don't know how to make a spoiler button…
Can anyone give a definate, proven answer to what happened to his brother in the end. I asume he was killed but some of my friends arn't quite sure.My favorite quote: "thou shall not kill! geez, what kind of a church man are you?"

Can anyone give a definate, proven answer to what happened to his brother in the end. I asume he was killed but some of my friends arn't quite sure.! No, he's alive, Vash shot him in both arms and legs so that he can't move or use his powers. That's why he tended his wounds and carried him on his back, back to that village where Milly and Meryl were waiting for him.
You make the the spoiler button like this:

Trigun anime is good, but the manga absolutely blows it away. It's one of my all time favorites. The anime only follows the manga for 3-4 books (out of 16 so far), then goes off on its own and changes a lot, obviously. It's still going, too, but it's winding down. Vash vs. Legato (they actually fight in the manga) is almost done, and Vash vs. Knives will be starting soon…
-
Several episodes are real low-quality. Guh, it sucks when that happens, but when it's good, it's good. I want Vash's gun, but make it 12 chambered XD

They do?
But…
! Isn't Legato disabled and forced to be toted around in a coffin? I'm not caught up on Trigun at all (haven't started maximum) but I know about that.
-
They do, because…
! Legato remains paralyzed, but he uses his own power on himself to control his broken body like just another puppet, and is therefore able to act independently. Also, since he's paralyzed, he can't feel pain, he can totally exert all his muscles beyond the normal human tolerance, making him exceptionally strong and fast.
-
@Cap'n:
! Isn't Legato disabled and forced to be toted around in a coffin? I'm not caught up on Trigun at all (haven't started maximum) but I know about that.
! I can't remember exactly what point that stopped, but he's out of it now. I don't think it was really all that long ago.
! Trigun Maximum is one of my favorites too, although I'm not sure how many more deaths of the cooler characters I can take. Livio's the man, by the way. -
Someone else recognizes the awesomeness of Livio! And here I thought I was the only one…
-
I am reminded that I really neeed to get back to reading the manga. I just got sidetracked and haven't picked up the latest volumes. How many are there in Japan, anyway? I hope it's not like One Piece where it will take years just to get where the manga is in Japan now.
I own the series on DVD too. It's one of my favorites. And they are making Trigun movie now too (animated). I wonder if it's going to feature a storyline in the manga that wasn't in the anime, or if it'll be someothing completely new.
Vash is my second favorite anime character. (you know who my first is)
-
Vash used to be my favorite, then I realized he was kind of a weiner later on in my life. Then again, the anime is my only main exposure (except for the pre-Maximum manga), so it may help later.
Is still a favorite of mine, though, because when I watched it I was going through a pretty damn tough time. It kind of gave me support (probably the most loserish thing I've ever said).
-
Vash is a bit different in the manga…a little more stern, and the donut thing and the girl chasing stuff was created in the anime only (as far as I am aware). Why did you think he was a weiner?
-
Yeah I gotta say, while the anime had it moments, especially the first half with goofy Vash I gotta say I like the manga more. We got more exposure to the Milly and Meryl (who are moreover reduced to just spectors in the anime) and the Gun Ho Guns (I never would've guessed Zazie's little surprise hehe) and Vash is definently more the take-action man here rather then trying to talk his way out of most situations like he did in the anime (of course he does that on occasin in the manga too).
Not that am saying that the anime wasn't good, on the contary I dig it. Even before I read the manga. But after reading a few volumes am leaning more and more on the manga's canon then the animes.
-
Oh man, I didn't know the manga had so much more. Although, after hanging out with all you manga readers here, I'm starting to learn about this sort of thing.
-
Man I'd love to be able to read the manga. Although I do love the anime to bits, one of my favourite.
I just find Vash to be so interesting! And Milly is the first woman in an anime whose tall and more or less busty! EGADS!
-
I've only watched the anime on CN, I tried to read the manga but the first chapter was so bad I just couldn't….I don't really care that much to force myself to when it gets good.
But I like Wolfwood the most, but Vash's coat is so awesome it is just about cooler than everyone.
-
@Miss:

Why can't you read it? You can get it any any chain bookstore.

You thought it was bad? o_O Why? One chapter sure isn't much of a chance. I don't think I would have ever become a One Piece fan from the first chapter.

Well, I'm not a HUGE fan of Trigun and that first chapter was so sloppy it just hurt my eyes and brain…
I have a friend who loves Trigun Maximum and says it gets awesome later, and I believe him, but I don't really care enough to try. It doesn't bother me that I don't read the Trigun manga.
But with other manga, I'm usually more interested in the series, ie Shaman King, Kenshin, S-CRY-ed, or One Piece.

Vash looks like a gay Chou.
-
@One-eyed:
Chou looks like a gay Vash.
There, fixed.
Actually I guess you were right the first time, this reaction was just instinct.

Hahaha, no. That mole of Vash's is really…...not cool.
-
I like the mole. I think it's cute. I don't get the impression Vash is gay…..
lol reminds me of the trigun AMV "macho man" lol -

lol reminds me of the trigun AMV "macho man" lolI like Chou more because he's more under-rated and a lot more fun than Vash. AMVs huh? I've only seen one AMV for poor Chou…. ;_-
So sad...
-
errrrrrrrr who is chou. he looks so familiar. anyway…how could vash be gay? hes a giant flirt...so if vash is gay...sanjis gay too

Juppongattana Chou Sawagejou, the Sword Hunter. Rurouni Kenshin.
Heh, when Wolfwood say an opening, he got laid…. ;D, Vash had that chance many times, did he ever? I don't think so...
-
oh thats right. and from what i remember and him sanosuke didn't get along too well.
but anyway im not sure vash ever had the chance. sure there may have been
one or two who actually cared at all for vash but he had things to do and places to go so he couldn't sit around and wait for them. -
-
alright chou lets look at what was going on. hes totally against death and his BROTHER and a group of people are going around killing for no good reason. that sounds like a good reason to always be on the move to me
-

Hahaha, don't be so serious, man. We're just fooling around and joking. Vash is alright, but in the category of long spikey blonde hair dudes, I think I still like Chou more. (cross out the left eye >_-)
-
Then start a Chou thread.

does anyone have the lowdown on Legato. The anime never explained him very well.
! He works for Knives for some reason. Somehow, Vash's arm is attached to him. He has the power to physicaly manipulate people, but Vash and Knives don't seem to be able to do that? He seems to have a personal vendetta against Vash. more-so than, "ya my boss want's ya dead"
Can someone fill in the blanks for me.edit:: why won't stuff like spoilers or posting pics work for me T_T
edit 2:: fixed it. i PUT the spaces, cause I read from another post how to do that and THEY had it with the spaces. So I followed suit. -

Fixed.
Don't press space between the characters, I had to do it, otherwise I couldn't show you how to make the spoiler tag. So, it's not [ spoiler ] but
! . Get it? The same goes for image tags.

As far as Legato goes, the anime never reallys goes into detail. What's inferred is that…
! His hate for Vash is related to the fact that he has Vash's arm. For some reason, it makes him feel a connection to Vash that repulses him to the point of insanity. It's assumed that his power also comes from possessing Vash's arm. As for why he works for Knives, it's never really revealed.
The manga gives him a much more detailed past, though…
! He doesn't have Vash's arm at all. He was raised as a slave, and his power was the result of a mis-done brain surgery to make him utterly complacent and lacking in free will. Knives killed his "owners", but Legato used his power to survive, and Knives told him that he would be allowed to live as long as he remained useful. His obsession with Vash comes from the fact that despite all the loyalty and dedication, Knives still sees him as just a tool to be used and eventually discarded, while Vash is someone he constantly tries to save no matter how many times Vash betrays him. Legato wants to prove himself superior to Vash in the hopes that Knives will care for him as much as he cares for Vash.
-
so in other words, the anime just put Legato in half hazardly, not really explaining anything. Good job people. Good job.
I still like the anime.

Well, to be fair, it's like I said…the anime came out when there were only 3 books released...and the manga is currently at 16-17 books or so. Not to mention that Legato's background was only recently revealed. Pretty much everyone's background (including Vash & Knives) is quite a bit different in the manga.
Not that I dislike the anime per se...it's quite good, but the manga blows it out of the water.
-
God, last night i watched two episodes of Trigun that almost made me cry.
! It was the episode when Wolfwood dies, when he screams that he want's to live and then asked god to forgive he's sins. I thought he would survive, then in a blink of a eye he was dead. I was like:blink:.
The next epidsode was when Vash kills Legato, with a bullet to the head. That was the second time that i was WTF. One sad episode should have been enough, but no it had to be two:bawling: . -
I always wondered how Vash can wear that huge freaking coat in the blazing desert?
-
@One-eyed:

Coolness > logic
In other news, Vash is on the YKO cover and looking surprisingly cool. Err, spoiler warning if you're not all caught up, though.
!
-
Damn, that's a cool cover. Not as cool as the Livio cover from a while back, mind you, but still, pretty cool.
Can't wait to see how this month's chapter turns out. -
Any news on the Trigun movie?
-
None yet. I generally doubt it'll ever get off the ground, though even the slightest glimmer of hope for anime Livio makes me pretty excited.
-
AAHHH! Spoilers, good thing I don't need to see them. Never mind that.. I "found" myself jsut about a week ago, after watching the Auperman AMV of Trigun. But I got a guestion about the series, has it ever been released as Manga?
-
Yes, there's a Trigun manga. It's actually the original work, and the anime changed quite a bit and deviated from the manga's plot rather early on (at around book 3/4 of ~18 books so far). The manga's a whole lot more fun than the anime, as well.
-
ooooh… nice, you know a site i could possibly got it then?
-
"Manga traders" is what i'll says to you and damn i need to read through it too i just downloaded it and …
-
ok, manga traders it is… btw what is it? -.-;
[Edit:] OOOH, now I see, thanks ^^

I don't know how reliable the source is, and I know you already frequent the GameFAQs baord, but anyway, if the "Trigun X" of this post holds to be true… well, there's not much to say that they haven't already said over there ("I came," "!!!!!????" etc.).
-
Indeed, I am so incredibly fricking excited over this.
