I'm disappointed as well. He looks too…normal to be the governor:
! Even in he comics, before we learned how crazy he was, something still always seemed off about him.
! And as for Rick's hand, they better.
When it comes to the Governor and the Prison, the show better not pull any punches. What happens to Michonne needs to happen. What happens to Lori needs to happen.
! And it sucks that we don't have any kids that are going to be murdered by the psycho.
! Then again, Kirkman has gone on record several times saying this is him telling the story in a new way, so it's probable that none of that will happen.
! We'll probably be stuck with Lori for a long, long time.

exactly! When I first saw him I went "Omg, this will end up badly."
First Reaction when I saw that picture: "… Handsome."
That's wrong!

! I wouldn't mind if they make it a bit less crazy, especially the whole Michonne thing… that was really... over-the-top for me in the comics.
What happened to Lori again? I must have forgotten... Which means it wasn't bad enough for her.
! And it sucks that we don't have any kids that are going to be murdered by the psycho.
! how about Carl…

big sigh. but hey, if we wouldn't have her, we'd have less to bitch about. Wouldn't that be boring?
Btw, when is the third season coming out exactly? Is there a date yet?
October time iirc
Not sure if anyone's seen this, but here are some pictures.
The second is pretty cool, she looks prettttyy angry.
dammit, I just wanted to post that :D
I really like these two new shots. Especially the Maggie one.
Only 3months left~
Welp, no more Walking Dead for me. Dish Network decided to be dicks and dropped the entire AMC family of channels from their lineup.
I really miss Comcast.

Are you kidding? AMC was urging it's Dish Network viewers to go to this website and object to it. Didn't think it would happen though.

Actually…AMC were the dicks, and wanted to add useless garbage channels (i.e. Sundance)--that will cost Dish quite a bit more money to upkeep--and demanded a 300% increase in pay from, not only Dish, but Direct TV as well; and some Verizon satellite provider. They all refused, and therefore, AMC refused to renew the contract. So...Dish, Direct, AND some Verizon provider I've never heard of may no longer carry AMC for the time being, only Comcast will--or so, I've been hearing.
And according to some bigger Comcast rep my mother talked to when inquiring about changing, AMC is seemingly doing the same thing to them as well, and even they might drop AMC because of it. AMC are money hungry whores, who, are backing themselves into a corner (and may go bankrupt) because they're producing too many high budget series, and keeping them running for too long.

I think it's a combination of that, and they know they're about to lose Breaking Bad, once this final season concludes. When what many believe to be the best show on TV goes off the TV, you're in a problem. They just want a secure deal for the forseeable future, so that they'll be able to get more shows like Breaking Bad.
They still have Mad Men and Walking Dead of course, both of which got huge budget cuts last year, but they're still expensive to make. (Though, funnily, Walking Dead season 2 supposedly cost less to make than season 1, and I still don't quite understand just what it is that makes Mad Men so expensive.) AMC's other two shows are garbage and don't need to be discussed.
I didn't know all that. Well then, fuck you AMC.

Matthew Weiner's salary most likely. He is getting paid a ton of money to make that show.
I didn't know all that. Well then, fuck you AMC.
Hope you didn't take that as me being rude towards you. I didn't mean it to, anyway. =P

Not at all. I was oblivious to the situation. I thought Dish was being cheap, not AMC greedy.
The show is being marathoned this weekend, with the pilot episode broadcasting in black and white this Sunday night.
Haven't really been watching the marathon, but when I turned it on today it was in the middle of Daryl's episode, which was cool.
also talking dead host asked "who would you want fighting beside you in a zombie apocalypse" and I'd be surprised if he didn't get the most votes.
did anybody get the code word for tonight?
did anybody get the code word for tonight?
I saw it, but forgot. Sure you can search on twitter or facebook for it.
They showed a preview of season 3 during talking dead and man does Machone(I think that's how you spell it) is bad ass. Glad to see someone who is prepared for the zombie killing business.
Do we have any readers of the comic here? As words need to be exchanged about Issue 100.
Right here, make sure you spoiler tag discussions from the Graphic Novel for people that only watch the show.
Holy crap, I didn't like season 2 as much as the comic version, but this season looks like it's gonna be pretty awesome!@Nex:

Currently on 92, everywhere I've checked have only had Spanish versions of 93-100 unfortunately. Sucks to, it was really getting good.

Trailer has me pumped!!!!
! Now, how's bout a hug for your old pal Merl? I shat bricks.[\spoiler]
! …My heart and soul have been ripped out. Glenn...
! When he said Maggie's name, I couldn't take it, I flipped through it and tried not to look at the over the top violence.
Kirkman's always been crueler than George RR Martin, and Adler has always been great at portraying the violence, but I've never had to look away. Till now.
! Just…poor Glenn. I still haven't read the pages consisting of his death.
! I really hope Rick dies soon. This is all his fault.
! As for the new villain. I hope he gets sick and dies a la Khal Drogo. I really don't want Rick or Michonne to get revenge, simply because they don't deserve it. Especially Rick. He should have to live with Glenn's death forever.

Hmm… The trailer, while good, bothers me. It's obvious how different things are going to be from the comic which instantly has me worried about 3 things:
! 1) Michonne's rape. And everything else bad that happened to her. That was such a defining moment, not just for her, but Glenn as well. It's not that I want to see it happen, I just don't think it'll happen at all now.
! 2) Rick losing his hand. It better still happen. That or he should die. I like TV Rick even less than Comic Rick.
! 3) Lori better fucking die. And the baby too. Once again, not because I'm a fan of baby death, but because the ending of the prison arc made it perfectly clear that no one was safe. Even likable (at least in the comics) Lori and her new born baby could die. No one was ever safe again. From that moment on in the comics, you began fearing for everyone.
! Some other random thoughts:
It bugs me that the Governor comes to the prison. One of the big things was that they felt safe there because he didn't know where it was.
Also, I really hope the entire prison arc isn't crammed into one 14 episode season. There's way too much for it to be that quickly resolved.
! And finally, if they really are bent on drastically changing the comic and the show, then they need to stop using places and arcs from the comic after this season a la Dexter and True Blood.
! If they just let the show become it's own beast, I feel like all fans of the comics, myself icluded, will allow themselves to like it more instead of constantly comparing things.
Also, Comic-Con panel:
@Nex:
! 2) Rick losing his hand. It better still happen. That or he should die. I like TV Rick even less than Comic Rick.
! I don't know why they'd take that route unless they have someone legitimate waiting in the wings in the TV version to take Rick's his place plus with Lorrie potentially getting the axe I find that even less like likely to happen
@Nex:

! I do wonder how does it become it's own beast it if still takes some of it's cues from the comic?
! Like with some of the stuff you mentioned before.
2 weeks left? i have seen a new trailer, its still summer!summer in zombie movies never ends
@LUFFY#1:
Really loved that trailer, things are starting to get really dramatic.
and it only took two seasons…
what… what is this... why was
! Carl actually pretty likeable! What a change, I like it.
! Singing around the camp fire was really nice, Beth actually had a lot of presence in the episode and I liked whenever she had a moment.
Had more written up, but when I think about it, that about sums up why I liked the episode. Don't need to go into detail about everything that happened.
I really enjoyed this episode. I loved the slow build and all the small character moments. Beth is becoming a favorite, and Carl didn't make me want to see him get shot in the face. I also found myself feeling for Lori.
Rick the Dick hasn't changed.
Comic spoiler
! I like how Herschel seems to be taking Dale's role. Makes me glad, because I like him so much better than I did in the comics. He's actually my favorite in the show.
I'm actually not looking forward to things being super actiony next week.
Loved the first episode, but maybe because I was already in the mood after watching the Season 3 pre-webisodes.
! One thing that bugs me, is Hershel gets his leg lopped off. Doesn't blood take like, less than a minute to reach the heart, even from the leg? Do you think he'll still have the fever and what not?
Season 3 connection to Comic spoilers (only read if you've read the comic, up to date, and have seen last nights episode.)
! So in regards to his leg getting lopped off, do you think he'll be Allen? Or Dale? Rick did take an awful long time just to prepare the leg to get cut off. Also, the prisoners; did we just catch a glimpse of both Dexter and Axel?
Ahh I liked this episode.
! It's really weird not hating Carl. Lori still remains on the bottom of my list though. But I can at least empathize with her worries regarding the baby. Really hoping it's not a Dawn of the Dead sort of thing that's gonna happen. I'd like to have kids some day and I don't need thoughts like that running through my head, pregnancy weirds me out enough lol.
! I'm looking forward to more with Michone and Andrea. As someone who hasn't read the comics, there is a reason for the two zombies she has right? Not just pack mules?

! Yes. There's a reason she has 2 zombies she drags around. Here's hoping the show tells the reason.
Haha, The Walking Dead is never really bad but I did chuckle a bit at some things,
Lori's 180 turn on Shane's death/not being angry at Rick anymore
How they spent months wadering around when they were right next to the prison in S2 finale
Cracking episode though, poor Hershel.
i dont think she really flipped out about rick killing shane till he told her that carl was the one that actually killed his zombie
That's the way to be, Rick.
! Well, the "standing his ground" part with that prisoner, anyway. Could probably tone it down a bit after that, so he's not locking people outside…
! but shit happens. Otherwise, I'm glad that Hershel is alright and that it was a pretty solid episode overall.
Good episode…except for Rick
! I was all down for him killing that one guy, but there was no reason to lock that poor guy outside. He was just scared.
! Rick has quickly become Shane, as well as my least favorite character.
! I liked that for what may be the first time ever we had a happy ending to an episode.
Good episodes so far. The thing that was bothering me was Hershel's skin color. For someone who lost quite a significant amount of blood, Boy does Hershel looks so puffy fleshy pink.
Is it just me or was that scene where in the convicts charged at the zombies right off the bat and attacking them (not on the head after being told sooo…sooo...sooo many times) funny? BIG TINY....made a big BOO BOO. XD
@ Nex
IMO... Rick's mind was just thinking ELIMINATE ALL POSSIBLE THREATS that moment...when your mind is in that state, you just go rampaging around...then rationalize later on when you settled down. You could see the change in his behavior after he closed the door afterwards.
The Carol plot is looking grim. Come to think of it, the Lori plot will probably converg with it grimly. You know what I mean.

While I agree, it's kinda hard to feel sad for him.
!
Wondering who's looking in on Carol.
! I half expected someone to die when Carol and Glenn left the cell to go outside. Hershel dying, reanimating and biting one of the girls(Beth).
I don't blame Rick too much considering he's been through a lot, and you can tell that these decisions aren't coming easy for him and neither is dealing with them after the fact.
He's definitely become a lot more like Shane in the sense of being a harder person, but he's still a decent person.
I like how two people lived with a doctor their whole life and never picked up anything but Carol has been with them for a month or so and she's already the back up doctor which such sagely medical wisdom as "these bandages will help prevent infect" I mean i guess they kind of will but also it's a severed leg wrapping bandges around it without any anti-biotics or cleaning it or…
that whole thing made no sense and i hate carol almost as much as i hate lori was pulled a classic lori where she tells rick he should kill someone without actually saying it and then looks away
Also I have no problem with Rick killing the two guys. My main problem was waiting for someone who was clearly dangerous and his supporter to actually do something that endangered the life of someone in the group before he took them out. I mean the one guy with the gun was clearly no better if not worse than the two guys from Jersey they met in a bar not to long ago and look how that turned out. Rick shouldn't giving clearly dangerous people the benefit of the doubt, arming them, then going into combat situations with them when they outnumber him. That is beyond stupid and something Shane would totally have called Rick out on. I understand there's a thin line here and it's supposed to be interesting to watch people walk it but you think by now Rick would learn from his mistakes and it's hard to take his new persona seriously when he does shit like that.
that was an enjoyable episode though. They're 2/2 so far. Far from perfect but it was almost right the whole way through.
I'm not gonna lie, I kinda laughed at the inmates pulling a Leroy Jenkins and proceed to shanking a walker in the stomach.
I enjoyed the episode. My brain even decided to give me a similar nightmare later that night. Usually pretty rare for me lol. To have a nightmare from something I've recently watched.
I'm glad Carol is at least being useful. She was hanging out near the bottom of my list of characters I liked. Lori is still rock bottom, and at least Carl is being useful, but a tad dumb in at least not stating what he's going off to do. But at least he was proactive and it didn't result in anything negative.
I don't mind Rick kinda having these weird killing sprees. He gave those guys a chance but it didn't work out. That lead inmate was dumb too, he tried to fight someone that had back up standing there and an unknown amount of other people in their group.
The inmates flipping out on the first wave of zombies was pretty funny.
We're finally introduced to the governor in this episode and it's safe to say he's pretty fucked in the head.
