Chapter 683: A Girl Like Ice
-
-
Thanks,gonna go read it. :)
-
I do not know why but somehow i did not like this chapter. Chaos is normally in good concerning OP but this chapter was too chaotic for my tastes
-
Law lost his hat. :ninja::ninja:
-
LOL who was it that said Law would outmatch Vergo if the latter didn't have the former's heart?
Counter Shock barely harmed the guy.
-
did anyone else feel chilly seeing monet put a cold embrace on luffy?
-
- Monet's intriguing as bloody hell. She even looked cute when she was surprised there for a moment. Guess she didn't expect Luffy to get out of her hold.
- Chopper's determination and good-will are admirable. Withstanding all the attacks and pain just to protect the children from their demise. You truly are a doctor, Chopper.
- Vergo is a beast. Shrugging off Counter Shock like it's nothing while casually beating the crap out of Law.
- And last but not least we a get a really promising cliffhanger – Smoker vs Vergo. I'm pumped for next week.
-
So , Doflamingo's crew is ruthless and smart. Defenetly fits the sterotype of end-saga antagonists the Strawhars have been having until now (Baroque Works , CP9).
Loved the art in this chapter btw.
-
I really like this chapter, I don't have any complaints. Monet is an interesting character.
-
For all those hoping for Monet vs Robin WOOT! Hard to tell who will win Smoker vs Vergo.
-
What I'm not getting is why Law didn't just shamble Vergo int tiny pieces?
I'd really like an explanation on what he can and can't do with Room.
-
Fucking loved this chapter. Well worth the wait.
Now to patiently wait for Mangarule's version with a proper translation (Chopper repeating himself was pretty stupid. . .).
I get people will rage at the kids part. A lot of guys here rage at every part having to do with either the kids or the G-5 marines that's extended beyond 2 pages, but it's needed here, considering it's one of the main plot points of the arc, like it or not.
Also, freaking loved Vergo using both Law's heart and good ol-fashioned ass-beating, all to make him suffer the most, as he promised Doflamingo. Law never even had a chance. Vergo is, so far, the most menacing villain post-time skip.
And the prospect of Smoker vs. Vergo is so fucking good. . .
What I'm not getting is why Law didn't just shamble Vergo int tiny pieces?
I'd really like an explanation on what he can and can't do with Room.
Law must 1st activate his room and 2nd use his sword to cut his enemy, THEN do his Shambles thing. That's a lot of stuff to do against someone who can squash your heart at will at any time. As shown in the chapter, doing a Room + Shambles to retrieve his heart from Vergo's hands is already far too much time for Vergo to kick Law's ass and retrieve the heart (again) and squash it again.
Again, he never even had a chance to do a thing. That he managed to land a Counter Shock is already quite surprising.
-
hmm Law vs Vergo. Hardly a fair fight yet law still manage to do some damage to him. IMO if Vergo didnt have his heart that fight wouldve went very differently. Vergo is strong and ruthless, I hope Smoker kicks his ass.
The giant kids are the only aspect of this arc I dont paticularly care about.
-
Love Luffy’s grinning and the star when he destroyed the floor he must be thinking that he came with a brilliant idea
but the panel after shows how stupid his idea was hahaha -
BTW, change every one of my "squash" for "squeeze". Don't even know what a "squash" is.
-
It's funny because Monet will lose to Nami.
-

Smoker told Tashigi not to deal with Law because her haki wasn't strong enough so I assume it won't work on Vergo who clearly possesses a high level of haki.
-
Law didn't really have to do much of anything to swap personalities or to steal hearts, don't see why now he is totally unable to do anything? Seems to me that Law's powers really need to be finally explained so they actually make sense to me.
-
Can't Luffy simply stretch his hands, grab the floor and bazooka the snow? :ninja:
-

Weird when I was reading the chapter with smoker he had to actually put up a fight and set up a blind spot before he could take smoker's heart.
But sure I guess if someone doesn't kaioken or gear seconds the shit out of their bodies and come out almost dead from a fight they're probably only playing around.
Also with whom should he switch personalities with? Only him and vergo were present during that short fight.
Switching himself? Wouldn't that make him a. unable too switch back since he can't use his df (as we saw with tashigi the df remains in the original body)
b. would probably make vergo stronger…I really hope smoker wins against vergo, because that would massivly fuck up everyone's faulty(and probably incomplete since many seem to constantly ignore variables outside of the fight itself) power level equations and their robot logic. Law beats smoker, vergo beats law, but smoker beats vergo oh my god overload overload...
-
All of us want to be hugged by Monet to get a chance to grab those … hmm xD
-
Law looks like zoro's long lost brother :ninja:
-
Vergo seems very strong, hope Smoker smokes that son of a bitch. And Monet has a sick ability
-
Pretty good fight chapter, and I like that Smoker might actualy fight with Vergo instead of someone else. Honestly if he was the one to take him out I wouldn't mind.
-
Seems like I've never thought about the fact that Robin gets hurt if someone damages her "sprouts". Atleast it seemed like it.
-
They translated the same thing twice. also, carribean again. gj mangapanda
-
is it just me, or does Law looks like Gin?
-
Last chapter was good. Let's see if this stacks up.
+Monet is a Logia user! Also she's evil, people need to stop thinking otherwise. She's blatantly evil. I wonder if she's gonna fight anyone?
+Some cool looking panels, most of them related to Monet, or Robin/Mocha/the kids
+Smoker vs Vergo set-up. Neat.
+Dat hatless Law
-We're still in the Caribbean on the cover story. lol. Not actually counting this one, but c'mon translator.
-Robin can handle flying cannon balls pre-timeskip, but she can't handle a bunch of kids? That's kind of a downgrade.etc: How is anyone supposed to eat that huge piece of candy?
Not a bad chapter. I'll give it an 8/10
-
I don't really get why law couldn't just put his heart right back in his body. if he can get it out in a second, he should be able to put it in in a second. I guess that would be too convenient.
-

I know there was no mind to switch initially (though some would say a humble roach might be more than enough) but it's just that Law has mostly seemed like a force of nature with unpredictable potential, yet now he got curve stomped hard and I want to know why sometimes he can do X and others he can't.
-
Ah, what a chapter! Monet posing an actual threat, Chopper displaying more character, Law getting flattened and Smoker finally making contact with the Pirate-turned-Marine Vergo. Damn, I hope next week is focused on Smoker vs. Vergo, because it should be a damn good bout…
Seems like I've never thought about the fact that Robin gets hurt if someone damages her "sprouts". Atleast it seemed like it.
Clearly you didn't pay much attention during Alabasta…
-
Damn Law looked cool without his hat.
-
Seems like I've never thought about the fact that Robin gets hurt if someone damages her "sprouts". Atleast it seemed like it.
Been like that since her first battle against Yama in Skypeia.
-
the best part is hatless Law.
-
2 Diable Jambe wall crushing hits… he stands like nothing happened and cracked Sanji's legs
Now he went in super speed stiole the heart and beat Law up as well
Law used counter shock and he still stands like nothing happened (Law himself said it doesn't work) while Law is bleeding as fuck after the hitsOf course he squeezed the heart but still impressive
Dat Vergo is a beast and seriously how strong is DoFla's crew?
-

we already knew that since the alabasta saga in fact
-

Maybe you just have the wrong impression(I mean maybe vergo is simply stronger than law despite lacking such a seemingly hax ability) also have a look at the circumstances? Room is pretty powerful but if you look at the situation he couldn't even use it because a. he got surprise attacked by vergo who's physical attacks are quite powerful. b. vergo can squeeze his heart if he only as so much notices him trying to do something and if vergo knows coo it would be almost impossible for law to counter in that situation.
But as for a specific answer to this situation he either was probably scanning for his heart and thus couldn't spare the concentration for constant coo or he simply doesn't have coo or isn't good enough with it. As for why he couldn't really fight back vergo has his heart.
There is not a lot of room to prepare for super fancy killer attacks. The shock was lucky because vergo closed in (probably since he wanted to make good promise of Doflamigos orders to make him suffer) -

having your heart squashed like an anti-stress ball is not enough?
-
is it just me, or does Law looks like Gin?
You know how Sanji can kick people pretty?
Vergo can beat people into other people. -
BTW I don't like the forced stuff of Oda with luffy NEEDING something to fly to get back up
he already can strecht like fuck… Has Gomu Gomu no Ufo and and andIt's as worse as in DB where Goku was afraid in falling down into a voclano even if he could fly in super speed and had an instant teleport jutsu
-

his stretching abilities have a limit, the pit seems quite deep.
and the ufo let him float, not fly,i don't think he can rise with that kind of tecnique -
Has anyone noticed the tree painted on the biscuit room wall. It looks a lot like the tree on Big Mom's flag. Is that just Oda's drawing style or a meaningful hint?
-
@need to fly out
Hello
Lost little dragon anyone?

@need to fly out
Hello
Lost little dragon anyone?
Lost? I thought it got eaten like the big one :P
But no, good point -
-Robin can handle flying cannon balls pre-timeskip, but she can't handle a bunch of kids? That's kind of a downgrade.
¿? When did that happen? I remember robin doing that in the anime but not in the manga.
-
Cool chapter
- Mm I'm guessing Monet was a devil fruit user first and then just had Law give her the wings. I guess the powers just get surgically transferred to the new limbs. Interesting about the cold thing though.
- And the usual "Luffy Gets Stuck Somewhere" moment. Pretty much expected by this point. I would be annoyed but I am intrigued what makes the trash room so dangerous. And seriously as smart as Monet is. Does she really think that's gonna stop him?
- Nice switch around with Chopper and the kids. They were the rampaging ones. LOL. Poor Chopper though, he really was giving it his all. And just when it looks like the situation was clearing by the arrival of the cavalry. Here comes bird-woman. Calling it now, this is gonna turn into a girl fight between with either Nami, Robin or both.
- Ouch that was a pretty brutal beatdown on Law. Considering everything we've seen so far from Vergo, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he's some kinda advance cyborg unless that shocking is a new superhuman power technique. But yay Smoker vs Vergo, show us whatca got Smo-Man.
- No Caesar in this chapter, makes me worried. And wait…where's Franky?
Overall loving the excitement, just hope this doesn't drag out too long.
-
Mangapandas are incompetent.
Balloons with text repeated, incorrect translations.
They must stop churning out this shit! -
Shouldn't it be obvious by now that monet ate the tori tori no mi model
