@Foxy:
What is with everyone underestimating Law? They make it sound like it will be easy for Vergo to beat Law, which I can't see happening.
! The heart
Damn, I keep forgetting about that.

I could be wrong though

It's the other way around.
How did Moria not recognize him, and how was he fighting Shanks and fighting in the war at the same time?
I lol'd at that, but it is a good point. I don't think DD is a Yonko, yet, maybe he has the motive to become one who knows.
As for his crew it's pretty cool looking, looking forward to their abilities in the near future. That old guy in DD's crew looks so familiar can't put my finger on it who he looks similar to.
Right. Law was speaking about the hearts in general, which confused me.
Well, the way I see it…
If Vergo and Caesar both end up in the SAD room, Law will lose right then there. Obviously that is not going to happen.
I see Smoker intercepting Vergo and we get a good fight there.
Then Luffy defeats Monet and gets to Caesar just in time for Law to finish his business with SAD. Caesar vs. Law/Luffy starts there. While the fights are close to finishing, Doffy's backup comes.
I see Nami/Robin/Chopper fighting Baby 5 and Usopp/Brook/Zoro/Sanji fighting Buffalo.
This is bad guys; I'm actually starting to think steam punk sniper guy is Sabo D:

And Sabo who is actually alive has Doflamingo's heart.
If Sabo's alive, then Ace is to, Oda never killed anybody, but since it was in a flashback, he's dead.
It's a blasphemy to say something like that, even if you're not serious!

Idiotic theories aside he is obviously alive. Dragon save some one during the flashback (implied to be Sabo) and the "decks of the world" for Ace and Whitebeard had the three sake cups that Ace Luffy and Sabo drank from (Which now only he and Luffy know about). Also Ace and Whitebeard died so you should put an almost never there.

But the last time he was seen was when he got blown up right?
I though dragon just saved him from the fire?

Dragon picked up someone during a panel that really did not need to be there. I think it's insurance; if Oda wants Sabo to come back, then he points to that scene and things make sense (fans may or may not rage). If not, well, he saved someone and we got to see Zoro and Kuina again.
Jesus, japanese grammar is complicated. If i compare it with Mandrain, it is like two different worlds
I've heard mandarin is harder. I just hate having to squint to read furigana if I don't what a particular kanji means LOL. Maybe someday in 10 years I'll be fluent but until then I can say hello, goodbye, and all the simple stuff. But yeah active and passive voice sounds confusing. The only thing I can translate from the raw are the most simple one liners, it makes me feel good about myself though. Uh… yeah this is kind of irrelevant to the thread.
What if Kinemon who thinks his DF is a curse, also thinks his son's DF is a curse so he blames dragons (which we know exists from Monsters) for his son's dragon DF? Just a random theory.

I like that. It's be a good way to explain everything. Cheering this theory on!

http://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/v60/c668/ I thought that cover pretty much confirmed Sabo being alive? There sake cups in front of Ace's grave. Two people could possibly do that. Luffy or Sabo, and we know it wasn't Luffy
Don't get me wrong, I think he's alive too, but Oda could just say that it was a common tradition in their world or something and fudge it that way if he couldn't come up with a way to use Sabo. I doubt the average reader of One Piece analyzes the chapters nearly as much as we do!

I don't see why Oda would introduce a character of such magnitude only for them to be killed off a few chapters later. I mean, if that were true, why bring him into the story at all? To show that not all nobles are corrupt? We were already shown that with Vivi and besides, Sado could have easily been shown as a close friend rather than a brother to Ace and Luffy and still have had equal action in the story so far.

The grammar does not even compare to Japanese, the only problem in Mandarin is the sentence structure which completely differs from western standards. Of course Mandarin is still an extremely hard language to learn since you can easily fuck up the pronunciation of a word and it will have a complete different meaning.

To be fair, the Sabo storyline ends up explaining a few things about Luffy that we hadn't had much explanation on before. His death inspires Luffy to pursue freedom, which is something he later states as his motivation for sailing and going on adventures. Being free is all because of Sabo. Same with why he understands how dangerous it can be having the world as an enemy; Dadan tells him that it was the world that killed Sabo and then he responds to the extent that he understands Robin's enemy very well to Spandem. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but going back and re-reading One Piece, there are moments that seem a lot more poignant since Luffy's backstory was revealed. I don't think Sabo being a close friend would have had the same kind of impact, especially since Ace and Luffy are adopted brothers.
That said, I'm in agreement that Sabo's certainly alive. The timing's too perfect for him to be dead.
I'm not sure if it's been discussed already, but does anyone have any theories on who that little girl eating olives is? She kind of stood out to me. I really want to know about her relation to Doflamingo.
That's a bit offtopic here, but it was a good idea by Oda not to kill anybody in the main story before the war. It made Ace' and WB's death within 3 chapters even more shocking for the fans.
Unless you count Merry…

There was some joking "she might be the puppetmaster behind Doflamingo!" but nothing too serious. She's probably just one of his powerful underlings.

Yeah right, back then i was like "Ace is not gonna die anyway, why all the drama", next chapter came out: "The Death of Portgas D. Ace"
I was like fuck

Yeah, I thought the same way. I knew WB would die for the sake of the new era, but Ace' death really hit me hard back then, cause I thought "no way sumone so important to Luffy can die in front of his eyes. Ace+Luffy will escape sumhow and WB'll sacrifice himself for them. But then Oda blew my mind for good. Again.

She is to Doffy what Miss Goldenweek was to Croc, if u ask me. And her "make-up" resembles Doffy's Jolly Roger.

I hate chapters with spoilers in the title granted Ace had already been impaled but it just was like thanks… I know this thread is getting derailed but since Sabo was put as dead in a databook does that mean anything? About the chapter the way FI ended and with the tea party so near, I wonder if Luffy will be fighting Doflamingo and Big Mam on two different fronts? As for that gear dude being Sabo no chance in hell, I'll put $100 if it is.

Probably similar to the theories for the 3-eyed girl from Big Mam–Someone with an unusual but powerful DF that can make up for her lack of apparent physical prowess.
That or she's Doflo's (or one of his crew's) kid. The fact that his crew calls him "young Master" and other clues makes me think Doffy's had this group since roger's time or close to it, which would be before that girl was born, making me think she's here mostly as someone's daughter.
or maybe she's 100 and just ages really slowly (and still acts childish).
@Drake Cloud: As we already know from Bellamy or recently Croc, DoFla apparently never stops recruiting. I would not be that sure concerning the crew and the length of their "service" though it is still interesting that they address DD as Yakuza address the son of ther oyabun.
Call me crazy, but there's something super scool about the Olive Girl being Doflamingo's puppet master.

Well, I assume he keeps this group close to him and leaves the rest as expendable extras. Though you're right, it looks like he is very interested in new pirate crews (Caribou is likely working for him too)
(…) Though you're right, it looks like he is very interested in new pirate crews (Caribou is likely working for him too)
I think so too. That's why I think Caribou gets freed from the G-5 guys and maybe even reappears in the main story earlier than we would think.
Idk why ppl are going on about "young master" wasn't it just the old lady who said it?

Did someone broke your arms so you have to type using one finger? :ninja:
Yes. Technically, only the old lady says "Young master." Both the big fat okama and the old man refer to Doflamingo as just "youth/child," but it's a kind of antiquated way of saying it, used especially for children of those in high social standing. So I just went with young master for all three, because the implication is the same, and calling Dofla "the youth" sounds pretty strange in English.

Would something like "Youngin'" be an equivalent?
Not really sure beyond what I've already said. We're getting into culture territory here…
Could be way off base, but I'm picturing Michael Caine as Alfred speaking to Christian Bale ("...young Master Wayne").
So the implication is that Doflamingo is from a high ranking family? So maybe a noble, or could it be used if, say, his parents were famous pirates? Sorry if i've misunderstood this.
…Aohige's first comment on the matter was "sounds like the way they address the children of the boss in a yakuza family."
Sabo was a noble.
Why does Dofla think Luffy having CoC is threatening? He can knock out some fodder henchmen, big woop.

Isn't it because it's a rare form of Haki that very few have? One of those few being the former Pirate King himself, Gol D. Roger?
Why does Dofla think Luffy having CoC is threatening? He can knock out some fodder henchmen, big woop.
You only judge the power without the meaning it is associated with, namely that people who have CoC are very likely to become big shots in the world

CoC is also the power that allows its user to gather many allies with ease. Mihawk even commented about how powerful such an ability is.
Wearing a pink fluffy costume makes him less scary in my eyes ;)
Come on, a pink fluffy makes him scarier. If you know what I mean…
CoC is also the power that allows its user to gather many allies with ease. Mihawk even commented about how powerful such an ability is.
Nope, Mihawk stated that gaining trust and friends as easy as luffy is his most powerful trait. Mihawk only saw that in Luffy.
CoC is totally different, it doesn't give you the ability to befriend people. The reason why Flamingo mentioned CoC was because of the potential it carried, seeing as all the top pirates have it.

Ahh must have missed that one, cheers CCC.
Why does Dofla think Luffy having CoC is threatening? He can knock out some fodder henchmen, big woop.
Its more symbolic than anything. The actual power is not as useful as other kinds of Haki, but its indicative of great strength.
I mean, as of right now the only living people that we know have it are Luffy, Shanks, Rayleigh, and Dragon (implied from the war). Those aren't people you take lightly. I don't even think any of the admirals had it.
I could've sworn Hancock also had CoC.
I could've sworn Hancock also had CoC.
She does. The Kuja Pirates comment on how Luffy has CoC Haki, just like Hancock, although he hadn't trained it yet.
