One of the bigger plot points that happened in the time skip, is getting covered in the video Game. By the by, is completely canon.
Young Justice RETURSN OMG
-
-
Rocket is overated, anyone of the new characters has shown more potential than her in her 2 chapters. Except Lagoon Boy.
-
The timeskip was "lol wut" to me, it was doing so good but then that..
-
I finished watching Justice League/Unlimited a while back, is it worth me watching this?
Don't get too attached; it's been dead since Teen Titans Go! was announced but hasn't really realized it yet.

Dead or not, i might as well give it a watch. Its on everyday a few times on CN in the UK.
-
The timeskip was them going "this is a Greg Weisman series, so it's only got two seasons in it, but we have a five year plan. Lets just skip seasons 2-4, that should work without being at all jarring, right?"
Seriously, I can understand the appeal of jumping ahead because it naturally builds in questions and mysteries, and gives new characters to play with… but it wasn't built up to at all, and it was needlessly jarring... and broke the show that had already taken most of the first season to finally establish a good and consistent balance and rhythm. (It needed most of those episodes to establish the world because it used a fully built DCU with history and hundreds of characters.)
the episode quality and scripting was still solid, but... it was seriously like just skipping a season or three. Imagine if you watched the first season of Buffy, and then skipped to season 7. Suddenly Willow is a witch, Giles is gone, most of the cast has switched out, Buffy has a sister, Xander is apparently dating some crazy chick, half the cast is missing, and some random vampire named Spike is apparently important.
Or if in One Piece, you read up to the Arlong arc... and then skipped ahead to the current chapter, where not only is it post timeskip with all the chracter designs changed, but you'd be meeting Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook for the first time and their ship would suddenly be a lion instead of a lamb... Zoro is still there but... he's lost an eye somehow, and Usopp had plant powers now and is all buff? Sanji has switched eyes? And Luffy is doing all sorts of weird tricks that make his body pump out steam and turn black that make no sense. (Or even worse, just jump into the middle of the war with his fill in crew... none of whom would have even been met yet if you jumped ahead from Arlong.. wouldn't even know Ace!.)
Yeah, if you randomly skip several years of series there's a built in mystery as to how all that happened and who those new people are... but only because you skipped the natural progression of things. Which is the route YJ took... which was excessively and needlessly jarring. They could have made most of the same transitions over the course of 3 or 4 episodes without the whiplash.
Its basically what YJ did.
-
And the worst part? Greg wants to do another time skip if the show get's renewed.
-
Well ladies and gents, the hiatus is over as of Saturday, starting with this new episode, "Satisfaction". See episode summary and sneak peek clips under the first cut, and some episode screencaps here:
! Roy Harper seeks vengeance against the man who ruined his life!
!
My thoughts/speculation under this cut:
! JADE NAMED HER DAUGHTER WITH HER SISTER'S MIDDLE NAME. But ohhhhhhhhhhh, why do I think the whole 'Jade wanting to kill Aqualad' thing is going to end very, very badly? As in, 'Jade winds up killing Disguised!Artemis while trying to protect Kaldur' badly? ;_;
! Meanwhile, Roy 2 and Oliver seem to have buried the hatchet a bit. But now Roy 1 is going to do the whole 'going solo angry' thing, with only one arm to boot. That can't end well.
! And now, looking at the screencaps…
! Jaime, Bart, Tim and Gar standing together in front of Artemis' statue; I smell a pact/teamup between them (to get Lagoon Boy back?)
! JASON TODD IS OFFICIALLY CANON IN YOUNG JUSTICE, HOLY SHIT.
! Also, Ted. D: I hope we get a tiny flashback of him, so we can at least get a feel for his YJ self. -
Hoooolllyyyyy shit, JASON TODD.
Finally!!!
Can't wait! -
wow. can't wait. the time skip threw everybody off . I was like WTF is robin shrinking.
-
! Seems like they're going with a Red Hood direction with real Roy. The whole "you gave up/didn't get revenge on me when I was dead" type of thing.
-
The feels, I HAVE SO MANY OF THEM. ;_;
-
There were so many side stories in this one, my head is still spinning…
-
Holy god, they made Otis totally badass!
He's the idiot henchmen from the Superman movies, right??
He's a gunman now! Cool!! AND SWEEET! ARSENAL!! Awesome!
-
Okay Weisman, I realize they're both billionare schemers in control of every situation, and I know you love Xanatos, but there's no reason to give Luthor his exact dialogue. I was expecting to hear Jonathan Frakes for most of that screentime.
-
i laughed at the 'why dont we have big giant statues of our fallen' comment
cuz the comics
-
As soon as Captain Cold showed up…I couldn't help but feel sorry for him...
-

You and me both, man! I was expecting Xana….errr Luthor to extend an offer of employment to Arsenal instead of just giving him the arm. I guess that's a thread that can be nipped at later.
Who is Rocket getting married to again? Also, have we seen this girl that was talking with Connor before, she wasn't ringing any bells?

The assumption is that it's an unseen man named Noble. He was her ex-boyfriend in the old Milestone comics as well as the father of her child, Amistad. In #20 of the Young Justice tie-in comic Bumblebee insisted on seeing pictures of Amistad, so one would think they're doing a more PG-version of her old history (marrying the father of her baby).
And the girl was Wendy, who Connor and M'Gann met when they started going to Happy Harbour High School five years earlier.
-
I thought she was with Mal Duncan?
I mean, there was that moment between the 2 of them in the first Invasion episode! -
@Sniper:

Ah, shoot. I got their characters mixed up when watching the actual episode, too!
-
So I was reading summaries of the Young Justice comics. They tell canon stories that aren't shown and apparently they have the first time skip story.
! Apparently Nightwing gets around.

She named her kid "Friendship"…

! Not a bad episode, not much to complain about.
! The idea of Kaldur being a triple spy is a good attempt to make the audience less comfy with the whole double agent, but unfortunately, I'm sure that is just that, a ploy.
! I almost called color fail on Artemis' hair, but then I forgot about the amulets power to only cloak her from people not at the time of the incantation -
Good episode, but they need to stop with the "ese's" and "hermano's," seriously…
-
I'm a bit confused trying to find episodes to watch. Is this not really a new season? Was it the contiunation? If so, what episode am I trying to find since it started up again? lol.
-
Just be sure to include "season 2" or "Invasion" in your search and you should find what you're looking for, Baroness…
-

Its just the second half of season 2. No, its not a new season.
-
I saw static ( virgil hawkins) when they show lagoon boy and the other captives!
-
wally was going in on night wing. Kaldur did lose a loved one. this stuff just to get to the light when you know who they are already. why? anyway good episode. can't wait for static
-
@RPG:
wally was going in on night wing. Kaldur did lose a loved one. this stuff just to get to the light when you know who they are already. why?
Because the CHARACTERS didn't know who the members of the light were or what their plans are, even if the audience does… theyre huge and large scale... and NO ONE knows who their partner is. (I'll guess someone big like Darkseid or something.)
Anyway, incredibly disappointed in the portrayal of Impulse. He's being treated as pretty much Kid Flash and full of arrogance, when the fun thing about Bart was always how curious and innocent and childlike he was... him being a bragger thats too cool for school just... doesn't sit right. He's a character who always had cartoons n his thought balloons (and I know there's no real way to do that in animation) and just felt more honest, less in-your face.
-
When they showed that scene of the heroes they lost holograms. I feel like I missed something or forgot something. Why was Robin displayed?
-

What, you didn't watch the show for the last five years? Oh wait no, they timeskipped at random for no real apparent reason and screwed the entire audience.
or forgot something. Why was Robin displayed?
Jason Todd. the second Robin, who was killed by Joker… whose entire arc happened completely off screen. he was introduced, made important, died, and replaced... during the timeskip.
Horrible storytelling that relies way too heavily on knowledge of the comics.
-

That's Jason Todd. After the time skip, the old Robin became Nightwing and the current Robin is Tim Drake. (Or, you know, what Robby said.) Actually, now that you mention it, I find it kind of hard to believe that this universe's Joker killed Jason Todd. This is due to the fact that I've watched Under the Red Hood, and that movie's take on Joker makes this one look like some upstart punk in a gaudy suit. Also, I was actually lost on who the girl hologram (not Artemis) was, until I remembered Kaldur's crush.
Regarding Wally's concerns, I doubt that Kaldur will turn (or has turned), but I guess we'll have to see how it goes…
-
Ahhh. Okay. Geeze, yeah that's awful story telling. I guess Robin's are a dime a dozen but still. Wouldn't characters be way more mopey? lol. Ah well. Whatever. I'm just glad I wasn't missing out on something they showed and explained on screen.
So how long till we get Damien at this rate?:ninja:
On a side note, I had a wtf moment when Artemis had blonde hair again for a moment. I was all "Why the hell are you removing your disguise now!?" Then it popped back to black lol.
-
In Kaldur eyes, her disguise doesn't wirk

It would be confusing, but for all we know, it could be a set up for future plots, or a homage to Jason.

Worst Joker Ever.
-
Worst Joker Ever.
Under the Red Hood's Joker or YJ's Joker? I'll assume you meant the latter, because otherwise your statement wouldn't make any sense to me…
-
Young Justice's Joker was spectacularly disappointing in light of the fact that he was played by Brent Spiner, who could have made a great Joker with better dialogue and voice directing.
-
That's certainly a more Joker-ish laugh than the smug chuckling we got on the show…
-
But we have to make it daaaaaaaaaaaaaaark and edgy. That's what the KIDS WANT!
-
It would be confusing, but for all we know, it could be a set up for future plots, or a homage to Jason.
Well, they've got 10 more episodes to pay off on it before the series ends, and it certainly doesn't seem like something they're going to give a lot of arc time to. (But an entire episode to Red Arrow, sure, why not.)
Weisman likes to set series up where he lays groundwork for things that will be important years down the line. The shows are then promptly ended a week later. (He was dropping stuff left and right in Gargoyles that would not have paid off until a spinoff series 200 years in the future!)
Even if the show does get to a third season, Weisman wants to timeskip AGAIN, so…
-
Why did Mal Duncan join? Did I miss something?
-
@Money:
Why did Mal Duncan join? Did I miss something?
Five years of story.
Cheap shots aside, it was said Mal will gain his superhero identity this season. Given Mal had a few aliases that doesn't reveal much about how he joined in the first place. Like he could've had a hero power taken away from him in the past five years, or he just found out given Bumblebee or something.
-
Stupid timeskip -_-

Admin at Toonzone recently posted;
I recently asked a Cartoon Network representative about the future of _Young Justice and was told it is currently too early in the 2012 - 2013 season to "know the future" of the series. However, the representative added that Cartoon Network is very much dedicated to the DC Nation block and _Young Justice. There will be announcements on future DC Nation programs made later this season.
The rep concluded by adding "please tell them to have no fear."__
-
Considering that they're actually on the previous season of the show, and these things take a year to produce, and they need word soon or else the staff scatters to the wind looking for new jobs… they actually DO kind of need to know if they're doing a third season by now.
For there to be new episodes by next September, production has to start on season 3 pretty much last week.
Really they needed to know a couple months ago. (Counter example, MLP was already scripting and voice recording for season 3 before season 2 even started airing. Venture Brothers announced they had a new season coming right when the last episode of last season aired. South Park is renewed for 3 years at a time.)
Saying otherwise at this point is kind of just going "yeah, keep watching, it'll continue, honest! Don't be disappointed, we aren't canceling it! If we admitted that before we let it die quietly there might be complaints!"
They may be committed to the DCU lineup, but it doesn't mean they're committed to a specific show in that block.
-
actually i'm kind of wondering if CN's lack of interest in YJ is directly related to them greenlighting the new TT show. with the new TT game on the website, they do seem to be favoring it more
-
Wait, they're making a new Teen Titans Show?!
