Well… firstly, there are ALL of the Supernova, who are presumably roughly on par with the Strawhats, or are going to be allied with them for specific arcs, which would bring up their military strength against some of those opponents you mentioned.

And don't get caught in the trap of thinking that just because you have a list of enemies for the Strawhats, that those are the people they will be fighting, back to back. If we went back a few years, a similar list might be...

Strawhat's are going to be getting some ass beating, but, they will come out on top in the end; people need to embrace that fact, them getting their ass beat A LOT in the New World.

Kid is either working with Doflamingo or going to help them vs big mom he will not be much of a problem.

Smoker is going to get stronger just like coby does he will be the one taking in the bad guys the strawhats beat and he will be a admiral before coby becomes one maybe he will even be the future fleet admiral!.

Agreed. Realistically, there is no way that the SHs could take out all of the enemies that have been set up, in just ten years. A lot of them are going to get taken out (coughShanks and/or Mihawkcough), or ally with the SHs. Even Kaidō may not happen.

Because at the time, he came off as a powerful enemy, and when I wrote the other post, I was doing it off the top of my head from the perspective of a reader just at the start of the Amazon Lily story.

I just had a thought… Kizaru seems a little out of the way, as a villain for the SHs. Some people say that Sanji is a good matchup, because they both use kicks, but if not... I would like Kizaru to be defeated by the same Supernovae that he took down on Sabaody. Hawkins and Apoo, possibly with Drake and Urouge. Would be so wicked.

I think almost anyone you can mention who the SHs don't beat will show up in the final war either as an ally or an enemy. I'd say the SHs are going to have more enemies in the NW than in the first half and they might be forced to deal with 2 or 3 powerful enemies at a time. The matchups I would put money on to happen in the New World

-Luffy vs Akainu
-Luffy vs Big Mom (I think this will be stopped short by Lola's vivre card)
-Luffy vs Kaido (the Yonkou are in the way of OP and Kaido isn't going to just let Luffy go grab it)

Of the fights I've listed Luffy v. Kaido and Luffy v. Shanks are the least likely.

This may be a bit off-topic, but since the final fights are being extrapolated upon, and Coby is a candidate, what do you think Coby's rank is? I'm guessing captain, just to be a nice even rank on par with Tashigi and Sentōmaru, and for him to contrast with Morgan.

Considering that Akainu is now Fleet Admiral, it's doubtful he's going to let Coby advance very far due to the fact that he's pretty high up on Akainu's shit list for openly mocking the war and buying time for Shanks and crew to arrive.

Garp's technically not even a marine anymore, he just trains lower-ranked marines.

But the thing is, Jango and Fullbody aren't that strong and they don't have ambition. I doubt they even left their ranks of Seaman Recruit.

Actually I think Coby is so low in rank at the moment that this doesn't even concern Akainu. The guy has his hands full with a new world order due to Blackbeard, powerful supernovers sprouting left and right and an evil organisation infiltrating their own ranks. There is no time to deal with a worm like Coby.

On top of that, Garp still trains the Marines, and I doubt Akainu would dare to lay a hand on one of Garp's students (it is even questionable if Akainu knew who Coby was and who his superior officer is when he tried to kill him during the war).

I also like how Oda keeps pushing Garp's reputation even further now that we are in the New World. I mean, let's look what Luffy did:

He completely annihilated Enies Lobby, one of the 3 great WG branches.
He rang the Oxbell and officially declared war on the government, twice.
He is the son of the most wanted man in the world, most freaking wanted. Means Dragon's bounty is the absolute highest, surpassing even the Yonkou.

However, despite all of this, who is Big Mum thinking of when she hears the name Monkey D.?

I can see him playing around with little kids with flowers in his hair like nothing's happened. He'll be the neutral Admiral until the end of times. I doubt Aokiji will ever be Fleet Admiral, though. His resignation seemed thorough and there for a reason.

It was there because Akainu is an asshole, it's not like Aokiji is opposed to the marines as a whole.

Considering how 95% of One Piece is based on dreams and the power of dreams, Coby failing to become an admiral would be a kick in the balls.

I think Blackbeard kills Shanks after they meet so that Luffy has the chance to give Shanks his hat back and Shanks is like "keep it you earned it". Then he says they'll fight when Luffy gets close to One Piece but is killed before that can happen. Also fueling the final showdown between Luffy and Blackbeard

I think that's going to be a MASSIVE arc or saga. My guess is it will happen after Luffy beats Big Mam or causes some destruction in the NW (I don't think they fight because of Lola's vivre card). Luffy and co interrupting it would be EPIC beyond words

I'm still of the opinion that the Stawhats won't be involved, and that it will be the big introduction for Dragon and the Revolution instead.

I mean, there's no way that they'd host it in the New World, and I don't see the Strawhats sailing back to the Redline to crash a political meeting of various countries.

It has to at least be a catalyst towards something because it's been mentioned a few times. Is there any type of connection between this and the Pirates Summit, Ace talked about meeting Luffy at before he died? If it is on the Red Line then the SHs might not go but if it's at the new Marine HQ which is in the NW they might head there. Also they could be stuck at the end of the Grand Line for a while so they can't go to Raftel so they might travel to the Red Line, we know many powerful pirates moves about from all over.

people are forgetting that Akainu is actually a good guy. It would be totally out of character for him to "stop" Cobys rise in ranks just because he did something he himself(akainu) didnt like that much. If he aknowledges Cobys skill as a fighter and as (vice)admiral, he will promote him. Akainu by all menas knows that he is "absolute" compared to other marines but yet he kind of respected them.

Since Vergo was revealed to be the leader of G-5 and the Straw Hats have never canonically been to a G branch, it seems like Oda might use this as a good opportunity.

No, I doubt that we'll get an arc of the Straw Hats raiding G-5. Vergo will (probably) have escaped PH long before the SH's and alert the Marines and the WG of their exact location.
My next guess would be that Kinemon somehow guides the Straw Hats to Wano and grants them entry, then G-5 goes to Wano looking for them and that's when the conflict of that arc begins.

That's possible. I just assumed that since G-5 is so close to the Red Line that it seemed like a likely candidate for a future arc.

It's the last chance for the Strawhats to raid a Marine base before doing so would be back tracking, right?

I'd almost support a G-5 arc, but I don't see why Luffy's crew would go there. Especially now that the 'villain' of that base is right here in Punk Hazard, and if he leaves, they wouldn't really have a reason to follow. If we DID follow that storyline, Smoker and Tashigi would be the focus, which seems unlikely for more than two to four chapters.

Man, I really wish Oda had a side-manga where he just covered stories about other characters in the series.

Aren't you mixing it up with new marineford? We don't know how close to the red line the G-5 is?
However I also want a G-5 arc soon :D

I really don't know what happens after PH. I do tend to agree with Kingdomkey that Vergo will escape. Other than that I don't know where G-5, Wano, Big Mam, Doflamingo all fit into their own arcs.

I wonder what will happen to Vergo after he's been defeated (or escaped; depending on the situation). Smoker now knows about him so he's going to report him either way. Or will Vergo just call Smoker a liar and depend on his own reputation to keep his current position? He's higher ranked than Smoker apparently hence his words should weigh more. Something tells me that Vergo giving up his rank might not be very beneficial to Doflamingo and his grand scheme so I expect a rather surprising outcome at the end of the PH arc.

Akainu a good guy? Well he killed a soldier when he was to scared to fight, a court marshal would have been more professional no? Let's not forget that he was about to kill Coby for speaking his mind. Seems as if he's not one to be told from right or wrong and he'll do whatever he sees best fit obviously.

I would like a G-5 arc but to be honest I can't see it fitting in anywhere. Too much time will be taken up by it if it does go through, so Oda will just side story that part I suppose. In Vergo's case and Monet's, I think that they will both escape and give the Don the scoop on what's going on and that the Strawhat Pirates are inconveniently getting into their plans and "must be eliminated". In addition they will tell Doflamingo the situation with Smoker and Tashigi, I'm wondering if those two will go back to the Marines from what they have witnessed.

I would love for the Straw Hats and Kini-mon to escape to Wano! That would be interesting so I would look forward to it! Who knows what Oda will do, that man always has been and will be unpredictable. I love how the Straw Hats are picking up allies not only now, but through out the series. I'm sure all these allies will come in handy for the arcs to come and even the final confrontation.

I also want to see the bidding war on the new WMD CC has developed. I''m certain that the SH's will come up on the cameras and most of the viewers that we know of thus far, Kidd, Tamago and Pekom's will have shocked faces to see them there. I'm just wondering why it's only Pekom's and Tamago watching this feed from PH and not Big Mom. Wondering who that girl/guy is though many say its Hawkin's, however I hope it's a new character. Furthermore, the man with the Cigar it could be Beige. . . or a new character. As stated above everyone's minds must be open to the introduction to new characters, hence, the New World. New faces, new powers, new allies and new islands is what all of this is about, sure we'll see some faces from the past not saying that we won't.
