I always just figured he'd be singing a goofy song to himself, but who knows. XD I love Franky and Sanji's reaction to it.

@Battle:
Though, Wanze's voice is a little disappointing, think Satori (same seiyu btw),
YES! I fucking CALLED THAT!
Oh, and Akuma as T-bone?! Sweet!
-
WHY IS THERE STILL 7 HOURS LEFT OF THE DOWNLOAD @_@! I NEED SOGEKING! MUST MAKE GIFS! MUST MAKE SIGS!
It's in times like these I wished I had either a Maplesnow account or 100 mbits internet. Or both.
-
Haha, yeah, saiyaman's raw is out~> http://bt.saiyaman.info/
Just.. 20.. mins.. more!! I'm very excited, I mean, a 2 week break!
-
I think this is the Maplesnow one.
-
Yah, Saiyaman. ^_^ Maybe I'll get a quick look before I leave.
-
Would anyone make a voice sample for sogeking wanze and tbone please. But hell yeah sogeking.
-

Ok.
-
OMG!!! Sogeking's intro was really awesome! What a cool voice! Same actor, but so, so much more confident! If he keeps that voice all the time he speaks, while keeping his usual goofie tone while thinking, it's gonna be a treat!
T-Bone was very nice too. The kind of voice we don't hear too often in One Piece. As for Wanze, this was sooo Satori, but this time with an attitude! I'm confident he'll turn out great too! Nero didn't speak in the episode. He just woke up with a "huh?". Boy, the episodes ahead are gonna be sweet!
-
O____O
thank u so much sogeking's voice is so awesome!
-
This episode and the Sweden hockey Olympic Gold made this one hell of a sunday
I really like how Keppei does Sogeking´s voice, heroic and full of confidence. Well, the future episodes is something to really look forward to, it will get better and better.
-
I just watched it, and now I know what everyone meant when they said the things they said about Sogeking! collapses
I laughed many times >_>; like when Sanji was trying to talk to Nami, and Nami was frantically asking what was going on. It was like,
Sanji: Nami-san! Nami-san, can you hear me?
Nami: Yep, is that you, Sanji-kun?
Sanji: The situation here… just got pretty bad.
Nami: Bad?
(Usopp tries to stay on the train)
Nami: Sanji-kun! What was that just now? What's happening? Sanji-kun!!
Franky: Oi, oi. catches Usopp
Sanji: ..Yeah.. Because of an idiot.
Nami: I..idiot?
(Franky starts to fly off)
Nami: Uwa! Yet again! What is it?
Usopp (to Franky): Are you all right??
Nami: What am I hearing?? ARE YOU OKAY SANJI-KUN!?
Nami: Who's the idiot??
Sanji: Nevermind, it's because of two idiots.Lol, it was something like that. Little things always amuse me.
Then there was Franky crying, and when the FF's cannon made a little splash to Aqua Laguna. When I first saw that in the manga, I knew it was going to be funny. shoots the cannon ... long pause ... ~splash~ .. Chimney, Gonbe, and Chopper madly running around was great too.
This animation team is the best one, IMO. All the characters looked great.
Can't wait until next episode.. dies

Aye, the Sogeking entrance is sweet, I was looking forward to this scene along with the scene when the six members of the Straw Hat crew gather on top of the building and appeal to Robin to go back with them. That one's still sort of far off though. Slightly disappointed that the "La la la, 100 shots, lu lu lu 100 hits" Sogeking theme song didn't play during his entrance though.
-

well, as it didn't happen in the manga either, it's ok. that'll be the beginning of 258 for sure

Sogeking's voice reminds me a great deal of Raika's, Enzan's or Searchman's voice from Rockman.exe. It's that kickass! And that music playing in the background is so fucking sweet. T-Bone's voice reminds me of another character from Rockman.exe but I can't quite place my finger on it. He certaintly sounds like an old man, I'll say that much. Wanze hurts my ears unfortunately. I'm gonna have to buy a lot of asprin if these episodes ever make it to YouTube.
-
The quality was a littly funky, and the direction a little weird, but it was based off of one of the most kickass chapters there are, so it was a good episode. Sogeking's scene was great.
I've been out of raws for a while, so I wonder: why was the Saiyaman file so big, and why was Chopper's voice so disturbing?
-
Oh my goodness. Sogeking's voice was just so utterly…heroic. I love it.
-
Yeah, although the characters look great, the animation isn't anywhere near Episode 243's…
BAH! Who cares when SogeKing appears and pwns everyone with his uber-heroic voice!? XD
Another moment when the Anime ties with the manga in terms of presentation. Audio>Text :P -
and why was Chopper's voice so disturbing?
Chopper's VA is out sick, and she has been replaced for a while.
-
Who are T-Bone, Wanze, and Nero's actors? Sogeking sounds GREAT.
I need to get this episode.
-
T-Bone's seiyu = Nishimura Tomomichi (西村 知道) (Akuma in Street Fighter)
Wanze's seiyu = Yasuhiro Takato (高戸 靖広) <– Mr.9/Buchi (Satori)
Nero's seiyu = Hidenobu Kiuchi (木内秀信)
-
Hah! I KNEW Satori would play Wanze!
-
@Cap'n:
Hah! I KNEW Satori would play Wanze!
We both called that one.
If they get Chikao Ohtsuka to play Jyabura, we will be set.
-
Chikao Ohtsuka? I dunno, doesn't he sound a bit- oh, the Tao Pai Pai thing. That'd be orgasmic.
I was hoping Norio Wakamoto would do Jabura, but he'd also be a fun Kumadori.
-
Please someone post screen caps of the credits…....if they took out Usopp's name and put Sogeking, Toei wil offcially be the best animation studio known to man.
Especially if they take it from where the straw-hat's names normally appear like they did on the episode where Usopp and Luffy fought.
-

Nope not yet. It's still Usopp, but remember Usopp still had a lot of dialog as Usopp in the episode, maybe in the next where it's all Sogeking they will.
An interesting note, is that on the Fuji tv website, they've mistakenly listed episode 260 with the Franky vs. Nero fight as airing next week. I guess they forgot that the show had been preempted for the Winter Olympics for the past two weeks.
-
Is there any pic on Wanze?
-
Eh, you just really see the back of his head in this episode, so I don't think there's much to make a pic out of for now.
-
awesome episode. sogeking's voice is perfect.
-
Is it the same actor doing sogeking's voice/but a different tone?
Pretty good voice- its fits him good.
Luffy/Zoro's attack on that Huge wave was awesome.
-
Pretty neat episode, but I wasn't too blown away. The animation was only so-so to be honest, but some sequences looked good. I really liked the shots of Luffy and Zoro both before and after they cannon'ed the Aqua Laguna, while I thought the attack itself was just kind of okay. T-Bone's voice actor… I think it fits, but not to the extent it didn't have me thinking it could have been done better, which I honestly still do. I'll have to wait and see how he holds up when screaming at himself (and more particularly, at Zoro) before I make my final judgement, though, as that will probably define his entire performance for me. I thought Wanze was great, actually, though that's probably because I've never seen animated Satori. When there are no comparisons to pull, I'd have to say the voice fits him like a glove. Kazuki Yao yet again disappoints me. It's not so much the voice itself as the acting, which really didn't have enough ''oomph'' in it for me. I mean, he has proven to be quite capable of pulling a good Franky voice in the past, but this wasn't one of those moments. I really hope he at least holds up a good one during the Enies Lobby events, though...
Despite all of that, though.... Soge King!! Man, that dude made this episode. His introduction scene was absolutely awesome and Kappei Yamaguchi's performance, as stated, was superbly done. I'll admit Yamaguchi has a few moments in the past where his overacting sort of screwed over the performance (Most notably the whole Usopp/Luffy fiasco, where his screaming just started to sound awkward after a while.), but this really gave him a chance to shine and showed this guy knows how to do this stuff, and do it good. I know he did a lot of voices from a lot of other anime, but this sort of crowned the fact I easily consider Usopp his best role of the bunch.
Now, all that's left is to look forward to next episode… The Soge King song! (Hopefully.)
-
Seems like Fuji TV's OP site is a little ahead of schedule. But here's #260's title anyways:
#260 屋根の上の決闘!フランキーVSネロ
'Duel on the Roof! Franky vs. Nero'
-
oh wow now that is great. I feel like they are getting close and close to manga
-

I had those feelings a while ago too. But seeing it as how everything is handled I don´t worry anymore that the anime will catch up with the manga. Especially if you consider that Toei could and probably will stretch those fighting scenes with small fry at Enies Lobby.
-
Thanks for making the sound clip, I got to hear Soge's voice while I'm up in the rainy mountains in an internet cafe. XD swoons at the sound of Sogeking's voice That was flippin' fantastic.
-
In a few months, we'll be hearing Jyabura, Fukurou, and Kumadori's voices for the first time. I wonder what kind of voices they'll have?
-
His voice is kick ass, I just don't want to seem like I'm on a band wagon.
-
havent got the chance to download the raw
did soge kings song pwn? -

Damn, the Luffy/Zoro cannon attack looks totally sweet.

Finally seen this episode. And as always when I´m late on watching it myself but keeping track of the discussion words like "awesome" etc. tend to raise my expectations in immense hights which hold the danger of being disappointed in the end.
Well after all that "Sogeking´s voice is awesome" posts, I was affraid that this will be one of those moments disappointing moments…BUT in the end Sogekings voice was beyond awesome!!! I mean really, it was great don´t know what else to say about it. The whole scene was handled well. This scene surely shows that Toei can understand their One Piece. I really wish they could show that moreoften.
Overall great episode. Maybe the passage where they went through the wave was a bit stretched but it doesn´t ruin the episode a bit. And great to see decent artwork in the anime again.
-

Hah, yeh. It was just a tad exaggerated.
-
Soge King's voice is exactly Kudo Shinichi's.
(Well, they are voiced by the same person.)
-
^^ Which I think is a good choice on the seiyu's part. I always liked how Yamaguchi voiced Shinichi Kudo.
BTW, sorry if I missed it, but was the episode 259 titles announced yet or just 260?
-
Agreed, Kudo has such an awesome voice. It's perfect for the Soge King. Hehe.
-
BTW, sorry if I missed it, but was the episode 259 titles announced yet or just 260?
It seems that fujitv made a mistake by announcing #260's title in the place of #259 in their website.
Anyway, I can't wait to see
! the Franky Hammer and the Sanji's "Parage" attack. And of course, the Sogeking song. ^^
-
257 is out from adc fansubs WooT!]
EDIT: yeah its kinda of awkward to post it here but i looked for the adc thread and didnt find it so i'll post it here
-
I am also absolutely awed by the voice work. Sooo. Coool.
Of course, I'm also just in general squeeing like a 12-year-old fangirl. At long last!
But I'm really feeling the closeness to the manga now– I can feel the anime gaining on it. At this point it's a question in my mind...
! of whether it will break after the Robin memory arc, or whether Oda will build enough headway to get the anime through CP9 without a break…
