I wonder if Luffy will ever be afraid of an opponent; show fear. But maybe he's too stupid–and I don't mean stupid in the 'stupid character' way--to know what fear is.

Would you consider the moment when he and his crew where running away from the Pacificas and Kizaru as showing fear?

It happens not often at all, that, I forgot all about that single time.

That was probably the most intense moment in the entire series for me. Not my FAVORITE arc, but still. Dat moment.

I'd really like another moment similar to it–-that similar desperate feeling--when they face off against Yonko; be it Big Mam or Kaido, though I'd prefer Kaido because I like him more.

Just wanted to post this where many more people might see it. In chapter 668, Alpha has a perfect view of Sabo's 3 cups. The clean original page right from Oda.

Agreed . It made me appreciate the series SO much more when the whole crew got completely annihilated.

Could you possibly screen cap it? I'd love to see it.

its been posted and commented on… two chapters ago
anyway, can't hurt to share it again, but most of us already had 3 cups confirmation

I know, I don't need convincing, but those were edited scans drawn on, this is straight from Oda.
I just want to see the alpha scan for even more proof
Yep, me too. From the scans I have seen I could only guess that there were two, but not three at all.
This one was from Mangarule, it's the only one with 3 that I've seen, and it's clearly(looks) edited.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed… what's the significance of there being 3 cups instead of 2? Do people think that it could be that Sabo visited? Who do the other 2 cups belong to then? Ace and Luffy? The logic isn't clear here.

I don't know what I feel about this arc yet. Too many vague things are going on. I'm somewhat interested in who this Joker guy is, and the Yonkou Law and Luffy decided to go up against in their alliance. Also something about what Law said… Something about there being something of interest regarding the island. Other than that, I don't really care much about the kids, the samurai, Smoker (since their battle won't happen yet) and co., CC, and the slime. The fights will be interesting to further see the progress the SH's have made over the time-skip. I need more plot progression to feel sold on this arc being equal to the greatness of other past arcs.
We have learned a few things, at least from the kids, about how giants exist for the most part in the OP world. Personally, because the OP world was made to be so exciting and vast, I thought that there would actually be an area of the OP world filled naturally with giant people. Now that they are just a result of an experiment from long ago makes it a little disappointing. But that's me. It is essential to the plot of the WG being unethical and evil, so I'll let that go.
Anyways, as regards to Zoro and the others finding the upper half of the Samurai body, and perhaps dealing with the slime may be interesting. I don't think there is anything of interest with the lake. Some say there is. It was the epi-center of the Aokiji vs Akainu fight. I don't think there is anything special about the lake. And with Luffy's group, we'll see what happens between Luffy vs. Caesar. Meanwhile Law and Chopper are discovering things about the children, I hope we get to understand more about why Law needed Luffy's help, and why he feels he's not able to fight Caesar or more so Joker.

While there's Elbaf, and it's hinted that the WG experiments went horribly wrong and produced monsters like Oars and Oars Jr.

LOL, the experiments were meant to turn humans INTO giants.
I'm pretty certain that giants already existed, considering Elbaf. -

Yes the general consensus is that Sabo took a visit to Ace's grave, had a cup for himself, Ace and Luffy. Neither of them have to be physically present for it to have symbolic meaning.
Yes giants have existed before the experiments, it's just implied the government wants to make more for their own uses.
As for posting the Alpha picture, can I do that without getting in trouble?

I think a little cropped image of just the cups couldn't hurt? :ninja:
Don't take my word for it.

It's been done before by a blogger who promotes one piece in shonen jump alpha. And I remember someone uploading a page with Noah to compare it with the scanlations scans.

I want the Yonko Law is targeting to be revealed already… =(

INB4 it's revealed to be Whitebeard. :ninja:

Here is the proof from the alpha chapter

Gonna have to call in the Ghostbusters.
-
-
@The:
Fixed that for you, Evest.
Ah, yes. Haven't heard from her in a while…
-
You know, Whitebeard has a grave there as well. Could be someone having a drink for Ace, Whitebeard and himself.
-
Why the 3rd cup wasn't for whitebeard?
- The table would be in the middle.
- It would have to be someone who respected both whitebeard and it's crew, like it's own crew (marco, vista) or specificaly Garp. why not show them?
- If it was to show that the grave was still being take care of, why not just flowers or tributes?
- If it was to whitebeard, from it's own crew, why not the giant sake-cup?
Why Oda would use a specific gesture related to the 3 brothers to signify "respect to whitebeard and ace"?
Why oda would introduce the "mystery" of who drank with them, if it wasn't meant to be a reveal?
Garp/Marco saying "yeah, I've been on Whitebeard's grave island recently" means something? The stupid box was possed precicely in front of Ace's grave, with a gesture that relates to the 3 brothers, by someone who should not be revealed yet. It was clearly the Awesome Octopus Fishman guy next to Jinbe on page 17 of chapter 624.
And back to "Sabo is dead!" shit:
- "Sabo didn't survive that day!" Then who was saved by the revolutionaries?
- "Why Sabo didn't get to Ace": He couldn't make it in time (Luffy was just inside the "7 days of travel on the most efficient ship for the route" line when he learned of this, he didn't knew in time being in deep cover on some random WG country of any of the 4 seas, the new world, or practicaly any island that isn't on 6 day travel from the "Marine Triangle"
-
You know, Whitebeard has a grave there as well. Could be someone having a drink for Ace, Whitebeard and himself.
That is downright preposterous to suggest that the 3 clips don't have any relation to Sabo!

Not even gonna get into the subject for the non-believers cause it's pretty much like asking if Zoro and Sanji have haki at this point.
-
I'm personally on the "Luffy left both cups there for Ace and Sabo" side…if Luffy put the cup there for Ace, it's only natural he would include Sabo.

But how did he get to that island?
-
But how did he get to that island?
With his supreme sense of direction and understanding of how to cross the calm belt and get to fishman island, which he then completely forgot when it came time for the reunion at Saobody.

Wait am I missing something? I thought the grave was on the battlefield….so, we don't even know who left any of the cups at all? Lol I'm sorry for my arrogance xD

I know you were joking, but it does bring up a serious question…
If Robin went to Baltigo, and Baltigo is in the New World, how did she get back to Sabaody? -

Nah the grave is in the New World on some random island.
@CrystalShip Is Blatigo in the new world? I thought it was just in the Grand line.

I guess it could be, but then it would be more difficult to meet Dragon now that they are in the NW.
-

Ehh I don't think Luffy will meet Dragon until the final war anyways; which will probably be in Mariejois, or even on Raftel. They won't necessarily have to go to Baltigo to meet him.
-
Since we're on the subject, I'm hoping not everything just gets convienently placed in the new world now that the protagonist is there. There should at least be explanations like with the marines shifting to the new world.
