Vampire Hunter D

Personally I hated it, it just didn't seem to grip me at any point.

My advice: Skip the first VHD movie, download "Bloodlust". The first movie, which came out in 1985, I think is more of a nostolgic thing. A lot of people like it, and I guess it's kind of considered a classic, but it's really rather cheesy. Bloodlust (released in 2000), on the other hand, I loved, and own on DVD. For those who don't know, VHD is based on a series of novels. Each movie is based on a different novel.

Thanks. I will then probably download Bloodlust. I knew that they were based on novels, but i did not know that the first VHD movie came out in 1985:ohmy:.
I like most things that have to do with vampires. I come out of Transilvania so i think its in my nature to be intrested in them:lol:
But i was not sure what to download, after the dissapointment that was Trinity Blood.
Anyway thanks for the info. -
And just for the record, Dark Horse publishes Vampire Hunter D novels.

I think you will like this movie. Let me know what you think. And D is my third favorite anime character (even though technically he's not an anime character originally). XD
There is one oddity in the movie…for some reason, they call D a "dunpeel". The real word is "dhampire". The author had it right in the novels, I don't know why they messed it up in the translation. Maybe they just didn't know the correct word.

Im downloading it right now.
BUT It is 1.36 GB and my download speed is 20kb/s:bang:
Well talk in a couple of days:dry:.Edit: Well after 3 days i am back. It was preaty good, not super spectacular, but i liked it. It was worth the long wait. It was way better then Trinity Blood, D is much more kickass, then Abel Nightroad.

It's an amazing series upon which the two animes were based off of. I recommend it to anyone who likes action in their reading. Currently 9 volumes are out in English out of 17 total with three more scheduled for translation and publication.
Also read the books. The manga is okay but the books are where it's at.

Left Hand is the only worthwhile thing in Vampire Hunter D.
Everything else is a smelly dump of poop and pee-pee.

Well, Kawajiri is one of my favorite directors, and I thought Bloodlust was quite good. I don't think I've seen anything by Kawajiri that I didn't like.
As for the first movie, I liked the animation.
-
Vampire Hunter D is really trashy. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, though, ranks among the best anime movies.
-
Does anyone know where I can read this? It's really hard to find.
There was a wolf I couldnt resist to stare at in there, I know that sounds silly, just wanting to read a manga for a cool wolf…..I just wanna see some scans of him or something. -
Local book store? Maybe your library?
-
I've seen both. I really liked the first movie. (Don't recall much of the second other then the animation being more modern compared to the one from 85) might acctually have been the first anime I saw.

^I actually don't understand, are you answering me or the thread?
I feel stupid for not knowing.
