Chapter 668: Pirate Alliance
-
Who will take down Slime?
-
Slime will be Luffy's, since the Marines are retreating and Luffy has to save his unconscious buddies while Law chills with his new toy. What also makes it reasonable (fodder) is that Luffy is well known to be poison immune and his haki will allow him to beat the crap out of it despite being Logia made. There will also be some gag that it will just keep on coming back and be pain immune to fill a chapter or two out.
-
any1 else think capturing CC could be to extort joker? law said it wasn't for ransom, there's only so much they could do with him, especially with his dangerous ability.
-
Wow, this arc is being a roller coaster to me.
Mysterious island - Dragon - Smoker - Vegapunk related - YEAH!
"Naruto villain" - Body swap - Yeti Cool Brothers - Shit.
PIRATE ALLIANCE - YEAH!
This chap. - What the hell?
-
Maybe Kaidou is an extravagant, fur-wearing Yonkou, and when Law was a kid, he gave him his furry hat with the mission to one day meet him in the New World with a strong crew. And that's Law realizing he and Luffy are like brothers.
Alternately. Kaido absolutely HATES hats and had some sort of history with drake as a result. Hence why Drake immediately sought him out upon entering the new world, and lost his cool hat and has to wear that terrible headband now.
Moria once had a grand hat too, but Kaido had to destroy it. And now Moria has those scars on his forehead!
-
@Big:
Who will take down Slime?
I'd like to know that too. Though I think there is a possibility that nobody does and the Island is doomed along with all the evil guy. (Though I doubt Cesar would die from this giant Muk, would he?)
Also I'm pretty sure it's Big Mom. It makes the most sense. We know there's stuff happening around her. There's the candy, there are the new characters, there's this event launching in a few weeks. Luffy knows her. It's the most reasonable approach. But well, how can reasonable is One Piece anyway?
-
@Big:
Who will take down Slime?
I'm thinking the two doctors, Law or Chopper.
Seeing how fast One Piece characters regenerate back to health, we could possibly see Chopper fighting a bit soon.
-

Big Mom's Tea Party should be starting in the next three days even. Oida.
-
If you ask me, you don't know how shounen manga goes, especially One Piece…
You really shouldn't be saying this at this point…. seeing as how it's obvious it's going to be Big Mom, and there's no reasoning whatsoever as to why it would be shanks except that oda likes to throw us off like with black beard in impel down, but if we need to wait a few arcs for that realization to kick in for you that's fine, just be writting your, I was wrong speech in the meantime

All great stories are really just stories about hats.

I could actually see this being a real possibility.

ROFLMFAO. I don't know whats funnier, the fact that it'll just be a stupidly funny ideal for Kaidou to uphold or the fact that Oda could literally make it work? Either way, thanks for pulling that theory out of your hat good sir.
-
fun chapter. Chopper on Law's head was priceless.i wonder whos gonna fight, there are not many opponents around. unless they come out of nowhere like this slime.
-

You know, I respect you a lot choperman…but I still have to disagree...
I am fully prepared to say I was wrong, but you see this is why I don't frequent these chapter threads. These attacks on posters who have differing opinions from you (not just you mind, there are plenty others) really turn me off and countless others. Quote where I said "This is what's gonna happen, no matter what!" or something to that effect. I have put disclaimers saying this is just a theory, and not what is in fact gonna happen. This mindset that "Oh, he said this, he is a pretentious dick and I alone must scold him!" really turns people away and turns the thread into a pit of bile and debased posts.
I will be the first to admit I'm wrong, but you better be prepared to say your sorry because of you're "This is what's gonna happen cause I know what's what!" attitude when you're wrong, if you are.
This is exactly what I wanted to avoid. Throw another debased post like that again and I will not hesitate to call you out on it again.
-
seeing as how it's obvious it's going to be Big Mom,
I'm sorry, but that's not obvious at all. It could be anyone, really.
-
OMG
The look on Law's face when Chopper was put on his head… I laughed until I cried. XD Also his ? face. XD
Law's always been a favourite of mine and seeing him interacting with the crazyness that is the Mugiwara's has me laughing my ass off. -
sabo is confirmed death in OP Green
The cups of sake means nothing, might as well be shanks and marco paying their respects ( its pretty common to put drinks at graves).
People who are saying that data book have been wrong because of in the past kuma was said 'dead' but turned out 'alive' does not prove anything as well because doflamingo also mentioned that kuma was completly turned into a pacifista and is technically dead. Wich still proves that kuma is dead.Just accept it, oda would never confirm someone that important dead.

Oda didn't. Oda doesn't write the databooks, and they've been wrong before, not to mention they would never spoil something so huge in the databook
-
LOL! The best image this chapter was definitely Law's face! Oh my god, that was freaking amazing, Oda!
Honestly, I'm a little disappointed the body switching shenanigans are over already for the most part, as I expected more from it. Still, I like where this is going. I wasn't sure before, but now I am positive we are looking at a Little Garden arc that will lead to a much bigger arc involving Law's plan to take down one of the emperors. Or if not an arc, this will become a major point for the next several arcs, leading to one very important arc.
For now, I am definitely waiting to see how Ceaser will be captured and what Law plans to do with him.
-
Oda doesnt write the databooks. People need to stop using everything that is said in them as Oda confirmations.
-
Another highlight of the chapter for me, besides Law's face, was Luffy straight-up asking Law if he will betray them. LMAO!
It's also great to see another confirmation that Sabo is alive and well. Not that we needed any more as the hints in the ASL flashback itself were already painfully obvious. Just had to lol at the non-believers again, though. Some people just don't get it really.
-
So Kaido's hates hats, eh? Let's not tell him that he's wearing one himself, then…
But then, that may be just a bandana… -
Wait, WHAT? I know I'm very tired, but did I somehow blow past such an important revelation regarding Sabo in this chapter?!
-
There was a cup of sake in front of Ace's grave on the cover page, so everyone thinks Sabo visited and left it there. They're probably right.
-
The "Sabo is dead/alive" discussion is every bit as terrible and painful to read as the "Jinbe will join/won't join" crap.
-
Hmm, a slime. Seems to me Nami's troubles aren't over. Now her body will be violated by a slime. It's inevitable. Poor girl, the slime won't even pay.
LOL this comment reminds me of a scene from Bastard!! manga=
Intro of the slime and that poor girl -

Three cups actually.

But then, that may be just a bandana…More weight to Robby's Drake-hat-to-bandana argument.
-
-
Go find Robby's post in this thread. He enlarged the image so everyone can see the cups. Only one cup is clearly visible because the other two were mostly erased after the scan, but you can see the traces.
-
The "Sabo is dead/alive" discussion is every bit as terrible and painful to read as the "Jinbe will join/won't join" crap.
With all that damn text blocking it on Manga Stream's version, it's no wonder I missed it.
Speaking of which, I wonder if the anime will do something with this cover story now that it's completed.
-
You know I certainly think it's Big Mom Law wants to go after, but I am trying to take in the crews reaction as well. They all knew Luffy picked a fight with Big Mom, and now with this revelation from Law they act like a confrontation wasn't inevitable from the start.
-
After some thought, i'm still learning towards Kaido.
Luffy seemed too carefree when he agreed, kind of "yeah, okay, why not?". One would think the mention of Big Mom would provoke some reaction on him. Obviously, Shanks and Teach even more.
Kaido, on the other hand, is just some powerful guy he never met, but he's smart enough to know it'll be a good thing if they beat him. It seems a better fit for his response. Heck, maybe that's exactly why he agreed. He doesn't have any grudge against Kaido, so he doesn't mind if he get help to take him out.And if it were Big Mom, i still don't see why Oda would feel the need to hide the name, when we know Luffy is targeting her already. It's like he wants us to think it's BM when it isn't.
-
ijust noticed that Law is to luffy what Mihawk is to Shanks.
-
Anyone else think Law's reasoning makes no sense here? "Capturing CC will be the point of no return for this alliance, so I'm not going to explain my plan to you until after we get him"
Also, I think all the Sabo Dead/Alive and Yonkou-targeting speculation has over-scored another big point. How on earth is capturing CC going to help take down a Yonkou?
My best guess is that CC is working for one of the Yonkou through "JOKER" (Law himself said the only way to survive in the New world is to work under an emperor or constantly challenge them), and capturing him will provoke a response that Law wants and can take advantage of, perhaps giving him a home-field advantage in the subsequent fight, where he'd need the SH's help to win.
-
The "Sabo is dead/alive" discussion is every bit as terrible and painful to read as the "Jinbe will join/won't join" crap.
Except both of those debates are now moot, because as far as I'm concerned, both have been confirmed by this point. (Sabo is alive, Jinbe will join.)
-
While I fully agree with the possibility of Kaido,I don't see how any other Yonko aside from Big Mom could get that reaction from Luffy, a gleeful look as people put it also the surprised look from Nami could just stem from the sheer coincidence of the situation. As for Oda masking the true identity may be a ploy to add more dramatic effect to the scene at the end of the arc when Luffy declares [[screams?]] their Alliances' true target: Big Mom.
Also I think some people are in denial at just how Gleeful Luffy would be at taking down Big Mom with Laws help,I mean he would be able to repay Law who saved his life ,free Jinbe from his debt to BM and have him finally join his crew and claim FI officially as his territory.
What's not to be happy/excited about?
-
Except both of those debates are now moot, because as far as I'm concerned, both have been confirmed by this point. (Sabo is alive, Jinbe will join.)
Who's to say Luffy didn't leave it? I thought Oda confimed that Sabo was indeed dead. One Piece Green right?
UPDATE: Whoops! Just realized Oda doesn't write them. Wah wah!

Except for the fact that we've seen through the entire series that Luffy does not go picking a fight with another person if he has no reason to fight them. It is not how he works.
And if he was goin up against Kaidou - you don't think Nami would be the first to scraem at Luffy at why the hell he is picking a fight with another Emperor?
-
its a databook. it collects all the data shown in the manga so far.
everyone in OP verse (luffy, ace, dadan, etc) think that sabo is dead, that is a 'fact' for them, and that is what is shown in the manga so far. therefore the databook say that sabo is dead.
we cannot really say whether sabo is dead or alive until oda himself show it in the actual manga or said it himself (like ace's bounty, it's not in the manga but he said it himself and then shown in the exhibition). -
Oda has made it pretty hard to guess which Emperor Law plans to take down. At first I thought it was Big Mam but if it was then why hide it? If it was Shanks Luffy would have immediately turned it down and had an agressive reaction. Blackbeard is a possibility but he's probably way further into the New World and out of their reach. The chances of it being Kaido are very low seeing as he has no connection to Luffy yet, and I doubt Luffy would happily agree to beating down someone he knows nothing about.
My moneys definitely on Big Mam though if it was her why was Nami so shocked at hearing her name?
Oda seems to be foreshadowing a Luffy, Kid and Law teamup on Big Mam as what's next so I look forward to that.
Overall great chapter.
-
Why does no one take into consideration Kid's last known actions that is to take down 2 of big mom's ships and the fact that they would become very powerful with his help even the fight with big mom would go smth like luffy charging at her and the 2 of them having to deal with bm's 'admiral class' fighters which makes more sence than anything u guys are talking about. It's also fairly obvious that Sanji and Zoro are not at that level yet and having only 1 admiral class fighter in BM's team is rather stupid to even consider. Oda didn't make it hard at all to guess u guys are just over thinking every single thing.
Gotta love Law's reaction after he had chopper on his head he turned him into his sword chain toy. -
Oda didn't make it hard at all to guess u guys are just over thinking every single thing.
No, Oda purposefully obscured Law's revelation to Luffy and Nami.
Why would he do that if the Yonko were BM? We already know that Luffy is gonna fight her. -
And if it were Big Mom, i still don't see why Oda would feel the need to hide the name, when we know Luffy is targeting her already. It's like he wants us to think it's BM when it isn't.
Because doing this way people will debate for weeks or months about who's the Yonkou, simply because everyone has a little chance to be the designed target. So, after months of debate and extravagant theories, Luffy will casually come out with a "oh yeah we're going after Big Mom" and people's reactions will be "wtf? so it was really her! Oda you're such a troll!"
It's the best way to tease people for some more chapters. -
^^Because Law said something more than just the name of the Emperor. Something that's important and a big reveal later on, I'm guessing. I'm surprised more people haven't seemed to notice.
Oda just seems to have set it up so that every path leads to Big Mom. Luffy, Kidd and Jimbei are already involved with her. Kidd, Luffy & Law promised to meet again in the NW and Oda already set up that trinity. I think it really seems pretty clear by this point that this is Big Mom's saga. We got that little reveal early on Fishman Island, Jimbei was set up to join the crew but he won't until the saga is truly finished. Luffy, Kidd and Law together make a stunning massive splash by defeating one of the Emperors.

1. BB no freakin way it's clear since the end of the war that Shanks will fight BB before Luffy will get the chance to fight BB
2. He could have said "ANYONE U WANT" i know it's retarded but it's a bigger possibility than bb or shanks
3. Nami's face wasn't grim it was surprised being suprised means either anyone or Kaido or BM are a possibility but we can cross over kaido since they both don't know him and they'd have a bit of questions after that tho kaido remains a high possibility.
4. For epic debates on forums for a obvious choice
5. Luffy would never agree so easy to fight someone he knows nothing about 'what if he's a good guy ?' so kaido out of the question but then this implies bb or bm but bb is already crossed so bm remains the obvious choice.<–- sad wtf no one agrees to kid joining this alliance it even makes sence for Law not to betray him but kid to do it. please read my previous post in regards to this.
-
Since luffy knows sanji and zoro have haki I wonder if it would be possible if he can teach nami in sanji how to use sanjis ( im thinking like the cp9 how tekkai and kami-e? were busoshoku and kenbunshoku , physical) , or sanji in nami (lol) to use it in namis body she can hit luffy and leave those big lumps , and I think usopps the only one that hasn't hinted or displayed signs of haki , what if the east blue crew members all have haki.
-
<–- sad wtf no one agrees to kid joining this alliance it even makes sence for Law not to betray him but kid to do it. please read my previous post in regards to this.
Yes, in all probability, the Straw Hearts will meet up with Kidd and learn that he's taking on Big Mom.
After which, Luffy will want to team up, and Kidd will betray them all later. And maybe take the Yonko seat. -
The databooks should never reveal important plot points. They have to go with everything the manga says until a certain point.
The databooks give a lot of info, like about devil fruits and stuff, you believe that, but can't accept when it reveals that a character is dead, as is obvious.
Its given in the manga that Dogra saw him die, there is no plot- point here, just confirmation of the obvious. And what exactly would Sabo adds plot-wise , if you call him a plot-point, thats right nothing. His death holds more meaning, as it helped develop both Ace and Luffy, and also showed how Sabo tried to get freedom, yet never was able to be truly free. Then Ace and Luffy made that promise, for Sabo they will live their lives proudly, without regrets and more free than anyone else. Then Ace died as well, now only Luffy remains of the three brothers.
Plot-points should not be revealed, but Sabo is not a plot-point. He was said to have died in the manga, and it was confirmed here. It's funny how you keep asking for proof, but don't give any yourself.
This would've been common knowledge if it was true.
The guy's name is Bunny Joe, its in One piece Blue Deep. It says he is the guy who was rescued by Dragon, not Sabo. And Blue deep released just recently, and its not scanned yet, so no wonder its not known yet. But are you going to believe it anyway. It was confirmed in Green that Sabo is dead, yet you come up with lame excuses like the databooks can be wrong, so why would you believe this.
Oh and its this guy here.
Adult Sabo appeared in the penultimate chapter before the timeskip. Sabo had "died" 8 chapters before. The sake cups mean a lot if you remember what they represent to ASL.
Another lame excuse, so what if Sabo appeared in that chapter. It also showed Ace who is dead, are you going to say he is alive as well, just because he appeared on the cover ?? It was a 'what if' picture, showing if all of them grew together, how they would look. Notice Ace does not have the S crossed on his tatoo on his arm.
And by that scene, I meant that Dragon scene. He met Sabo a day before, by the time Sabo set sail, the Dragon and his crew were long gone.
The sake cups mean nothing as well, as its quite common to offer a drink to the deceased.here
Just because two sake cups were shown, does not mean Sabo is suddenly alive. And it looks like there were only two cups there not three, and a bouquet of flowers if you look at the raw. It implys that it was meant to be for both Ace and WB, not Ace alone. But you'll end up looking like a fool in the process, and even more when he does appear.
It can be said the other way around as well, that you are the ones who will look like a fool when he never shows up at all. And top of that you are making these lame excuses and giving them as proof, that he is alive.
-Sake cups,
-Dragon saves some unknown guy,
-The body was not shown,
-The ones seeing the boat burning were too far away,
-The reason he did not come to save Ace or even contact him in anyway was because Dragon ordered him not to, even if it goes completely against his character,
-He was in a coma for 10+ years and somehow is still alive(lol). All of this are flimsy excuses and baseless speculation. You guys who say Sabo is alive have no solid, concrete proof to anything pointing toward the fact that Sabo is alive, and yet say statements like 'Its obvious Sabo is alive', 'Sabo is confirmed alive','This debate is so stupid, Sabo is clearly alive','Some people just won't believe until its written down for them','Alive until proven dead'.
So, what makes you so sure that he is alive, even though there is no solid point in your favour. And yet have the nerve to tell me that I am fool for not believing it, and it will make me look more foolish when he appears.
Right, lets see, I only followed the canon. It was said in the manga that Sabo died->Canon, There is no hint that he is alive, even though the revolutionaries were shown, Dragon was shown, yet no hint of Sabo, no foreshadowing at all-> canon. Then it gets confirmed in the databook that Sabo is dead, and also confirmed that the guy Dragon saved back then was not Sabo.
And so I am the fool for following the only solid info given, and not making stuff up that he is alive on baseless speculation, that goes against canon.I know that the databooks are not written by Oda, and they can have mistakes. Yet the mistakes I have seen were very small like different birthdates, a mistake in flag design, etc. If they were going to state something this important, it would have been brought to Oda's notice, and only after his approval would this info been revealed. The anime team usually does this as well, so as to not reveal any info before the manga does.
I am not saying that its impossible that he is alive, he may be alive, and may appear in the story, there is still a chance I guess. I am just saying that for now it looks more likely that he is dead, rather than alive, for me atleast.
p.s- Rather than calling others fools, give some convincing points to make your opinions clear. Saying I will look like a fool when he appears, whenever that is, is kinda moot as he may not appear at all, then who will be the fool ??
