Hope so… But thanks for the info
Chapter 664: Master Caesar Clown
-
-
Arigato for the chapter
-
Wasn't Caesar "Clown" the wrong translation of M's name? Thought it was mentioned here that it's actually supposed to be Caesar Crown. How come it's still Clown? Kinda dislike that romanization.
Because it was written that way in the Japanese Jump issue. Clown is alright since we have Buggy, but crown as a name would be just goofy.
Nice exposition chapter, and we finally get to see what Caeser looks like. To me this is shaping out be more and more like Thriller Bark.

No problem^^ We have to thank the scanlators and providers more after all

any news on ch665?? because it's double this week, right?
Double issue means there is no issue next week due to Golden Week holidays.
It's not double the contents, but double the waiting time.
I can't be the only one who gets completely absorved and impressed with this kind of chapter, so damn full of info.
Of course you are not alone. The abundance of details like these is the real frosting on the cake of One Piece immersion.

The original Shonen Jack page last week had "Clown" written in English.

Funny how Smokashigi looks like Iceburg LOL
-
…so, what is the reason again for law basically being able to play god with his power?
Seriously, It doesn't even make sense, you have one of the best scientists on the island, why not make him responsible for creating the centaurs and the others? Like sewing together some animal and human parts is that crazy, Hogback already kind of did that.
Despite this, alright chapter. Law continues to be bland and uninteresting, but at least things are still interesting. -
I don't like that the dragon was created by Vegapunk, just like I didn't like that Law created the centaurs. Why can't we just have these creatures be natural? Though, natural dragons should at least be in Wanokuni..
-
^Darn, and I was gonna mention Goldenweek is next week too
I love Caesar Clown just for his laugh…
Shulolololololololo~
-
">Luffy
immune to poison due to surviving his encounter with Magellan
400M unadjusted bounty
has HakiThis guy will go down faster then Hody"
But obviously there will be another element added to it, Law probably wont let him get killed because he is holding his crew hostage or something of that nature.
Gas isn't necessarily poisonous. He could easily asphyxiate Luffy though.

Nope, it was confirmed as Clown, it was written in english in the raw.

Why is any of that a problem?
-
Why is any of that a problem?
Because, I'd prefer these fantasy creatures be allowed to exist in the world naturally.
-
The cover is amazing.
So… Vegapunk is once again defamed. Atleast, I hope the children or atleast the samurai's son ends changing SH's mind (if they already have one about CC), or even Law, who knows.
And we got more corruption going on in the marines. "Joker" ? Seems like a new person or it could be Don Flamingo, but I prefer to wait before jumping into conclusions.
Also, I hope that Smoker kick ass in Tashigi's body, to show her what she's capable of.

Me too, it could expand One Piece's world.

Great chapter! I knew that the worse generation would Include Blackbeard. This makes all of those arguments about Jinbe being too old to sail amongst this generation sound ridiculous now.
Btw maybe I need to see a better translation but am I wrong in thinking Will-O the Wispkinemon is the Samurai from Wano? I mean who else could it be right?
-
Why is any of that a problem?
I'm alright with the dragon, vegapunk did it, fine, but law doing the centaur thing is just a waste.
Again, we have a insane scientist on the island, we know by a fact that Hogback did things almost as impossible (Absalom being upgraded with animal parts) so having a dude sewing humans and animals together makes sense.
While with laws power, he just sticks them on the lower animal part - and done.
It's not even really bad, just lazy and a wasted opportunity. -

Anyone else notice how Mangapanda always cuts the border of color spreads?

Ah, right. I was wondering what he was talking about there. I thought the translation was Mangapanda'd up.
Where is this from?
-
Joker is Doflamingo. Calling it now.
The chapter itself was as great as always.
Doubtful. It has to be somebody with direct access to Marine Reports (A WG official or a Marine itself).
-
Because, I'd prefer these fantasy creatures be allowed to exist in the world naturally.
I'd prefer Oda didn't bring them in at all, there is enough yaoi fanwank about One Piece without bringing fantasy bestiality into it.
-
Where is this from?
Pg 6 he references The SH,G5 and another person who he got permission to kill and the only other person causing trouble for CC, besides Luffy and Smokers groups is the Samurai.

Hah, 16 true that.

At first I thought it was a digimon or something :ninja:

It's amazing that Oda has been doing this for 15 years yet every new chapter people find something to complain about based on assumptions. -

Then ignore the porn.
I'm just not a big fan of everything being explained by Devil Fruits, Haki and Vegapunk experiments. Something Oda keeps on doing more than at the start of the series. I cringe at the thought of him suddenly deciding to explain Gaimon's animals.

There are 4 Things that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED in this chapter.
1. The worst generation!!!! I truly hope that it doesn't refer to 3, 4 or 5 of them but to them all. In fact, I would love to know what have they done to deserve such tittle. Of course, we know about Luffy's and BB's deeds and to a lesser extent Law's and maybe Kid's but something tells me this goes on and beyond them, so I'm hoping that Bege, Urogue, Bonney, Appoo and Killer get their respective share. Even Zoro needs some extra screen time so he can show his power a bit more. Now, speaking about Bonney, I'm very interested in knowing about her whereabouts; with these later developments I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up being another "guinea pig" for Vegapunk experiments.
2. Ussop's MASKS. Was it CC… NO!!!, was it Tashigi unbottoned sexy body ….NO!!, was it the fact fact that another OP fruit has been revealed…. NO!! or was it Hawkings mopping the floor with brown beard… NO!!. What really made the chapter for me was those FAntabulous masks that Ussop design… Really one of kind and a limited edition... where can I get mine?
3. Ok tashigi unbottoned blouse is sexy hot!!! damn she should listen to a tip or two from smoker.
4. Brownbeard's perspective and CC ambiguous character. CC seems pretty mad even for a mad scientist... someone who doesn't seem to ackowledge a experiment that killed almost everyone in an Island as a failure has indeed some loose screws. No wonder he's a mass murder scientists. That room in which he placed the centaur guy.... seems along the lines of a "concentration camp" and its "shower chambers". This arc is getting darker and darker
-
The dragon being man-made was the best thing about it. The guy literarly made a dragon for the heck of it.
Brought the vegapunk stock waaaaay up for me.
-
Very nice chapter indeed, the background story of Punk Hazard is very interesting. I think CC being a rival of Vegapunk and also being responsible for the accident 4 years ago is something that most of the audience already guessed. It seems that he was supposed to be imprisoned after the accident he caused but he could escape -> seeing that he has a 300 mil bounty it could be that he is Fisher Tiger´s successor of the "highest first bounty". That just shows how dangerous that guy really is. Brownbeard suddenly loosening his mouth was kind of surprising, i guess he doesn´t think that the SH are capable enough to take Law + CC out so he doesn´t mind giving some information. Smoker + marines want to take their body parts back, reveal everything that´s happening on the island and probably arrest CC, tot. I wonder though how they want to accomplish this, they basically don´t have any fighting power anymore (maybe he secretly hopes for the SHs, who knows). Now the most interesting facts of this chapter: CC seems to be really typical for the expression "mad scientist" whereas Mone seems to be the one who keeps everything together on PH. Since Vegapunk is supposed to be somewhat the opposite of CC we can imagine him as a calm and collected person. Next point is the issue with the traitor in the G5 named Joker, he basically has the duty of hiding the fact of the kidnapped children-> I already don´t like him. The most surprising point in this chapter though is the fact that even CC seems to have someone he has to answer to, since he had to ask for permission to kill the SHs + the G5 marines. That of course raises the question who that person is. Could it be a faction of the WG who, like CC, hates Vegapunk or one of the most powerful pirates or even someone from the Revos (rather unlikely because they basically would be giving permission to kill the son of their leader)?

…because Brownbeard said that Law did it?
I tend to trust the stuff that Oda wrote, but hey, maybe that's just me! -

I just checked CCC's translation and I guess I was right about the translation being typical Mangapanda:
Caesar: “At last we made contact!”
“And now, I’ve permission to kill. There’s the Strawhats, G-5, the strangely-dressed foreigner…”
“How fortunate that no matter who dies on this island, JOKER will just turn it into an accident in nearby waters.”
“Go and capture whoever you can manage to! The more bodies for experiments, the better!”Howthe hell did they get to Will-'o'-The-Wispkineman?

Mermaids, Fishmen, Neptunians, Sky islands, assorted grand line anomalies?
I guess you may want to quit reading the series before Vegapunk is introduced since he'll likely explain away Devil fruits and a lot of other things as well.
To me a dragon made by a mad scientist is a heck of a lot more interesting than a "fantasy" dragon that exists because "it just does", but that's just me. -
Wow, I did not expect Caesar Clown to look ike that…..freaking amazing and insane at the same time. Is his overall appearance suppose to resemble some japanese folklore ghost or a jester? He really is like a god/savior to his subordinates but in reality, he is a psycho who wants defamed Vegapunk. Love his laugh, SHULOLOLOLOL! XD And Smoker Tashigi with unbutton shirt is HAWT and BADASS! smirk
-
The fact that Law created them should have been clear from the very moment we saw one of them was Brownbeard.
-
…because Brownbeard said that Law did it?

–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Btw, the fact that Caesar mentioned getting permission, is this another mistranslation, or is he actually someone's subordinate?
The plot thickens. -
Something I found
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will-o'-the-wispAnd his name could be Kin'emon
So maybe he has a kitsune fruit instead of tanuki

To me a dragon made by a mad scientist is a heck of a lot more interesting than a "fantasy" dragon that exists because "it just does", but that's just me.My "everything" was a hyperbole. I know there are some things still allowed to have a sense of mystery about them, and I know the Devil Fruits will be explained and I'll definitely be disappointed by that, but that doesn't mean I hate the series, I just miss some things being simpler.

He looks to me like a fawn with a bit of kabuki influence in the features wearing a gaseous labcoat/toga.

Will someone translate the New World Times?? I reallly have to read it all, but I can't read japanese yet.
-
I think the dragon made Vegapunk a lot more interesting to me as well, how did he make it, why did he make it?
Maybe he made it after a real dragon? Oh the mystery~ -

I imagine there will be plenty of mysteries left regardless, and knowing Oda he might give explanations that will just raise more questions.
Keeping things simple over such long stretch would have grown incredibly repetitive imo. -
If you're seeing a line there that explicitly states it was done by Law without any help of any kind then I guess it is just you.
…what?
Brownbeard flat out said it was laws ability that did it. There is no reason to think that CC was involved in the process of creating centaurs.
Actually, It's you who makes the assumption. The current chapters and dialog all suggest that I'm right, so why are you making assumptions?
Again, this shit is not even important, it was a bit of information to explain to us the deal with the centaurs. There is no reason for Oda now to focus on this again. Law did it, that was the info he was trying to get across. I would be extremely surprised if the anatomy of the centaurs is brought up again during this chapter, because it would be pointless. They are fodders, the only thing interesting about them was what the fuck they are exactly. That was now explained, and I'm a little disappointed about that, because he already had a much more doable and interesting setting with the whole Dr. Moriarty thing going on. -
One thing that I think some poeple heve understood wrong: Law created the creatures with his hability, not his DF hability, meaning that since he is a great doctor just like Hogback he patched the animal parts in operations. Had he do it with the Ope-Ope no mi, those guys would not be able to move their legs at will.
Great and amazing chapter, by the way. It seems that there is someone who is even above Caesar, Law and Joker, a really powerfull guy or entity. He will be the one who have Law's crew and made him work for them I suppose. Caesar's dessign is cool, and dare I say, it reminds me Orochimaru a lot!!
-

I've got to agree with this. Take a simple reality twist and turn it and leave some questions to be answered and you'll have a lot of people tailing your path. I suppose that's more or less what succesful story telling is about. Of course consistency has to happen but it doesn't have to superseed the world that its designed for.
-
I just checked CCC's translation and I guess I was right about the translation being typical Mangapanda:

OH WOW! Man I don't know a lick of Japanese but "Strangely Dressed" and Will-O the Wiswhatever is two totally different things ….
Really is a shame though, ive been waiting for more development on our Samurai friend for awhile now,namely...His name lol

If you feel differently based on that throwaway line that's fine too, no need to get all riled up about it.
-
This chapter is really interesting, and the info who's been given will be important for the future!
that guy Ceasar seems to be an asshole who wanna do something to the tenryuubito to prove he is better than vegapunk
but something important to know is when Chopper who healed the scratch luffy got from the sword of the tako guy and chopper said that luffy seems to be immunate from poison that is something to keep in mind, which will be interesting if Luffy and co have to fight against ceasar!
http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/610/4Being highly resistant to poison doesn't make you highly resistant to nerve gas, which, I'm guessing, Caesar more or less will turn out being. He's a nerve gas, that, I'm guessing, will allow him to make people hallucinate too. (Caesar will probably make Luffy hallucinate seeing Ace die during Marineford–or something to do with Ace).
-
Thank you so much ^_^

lol sparky
How about actually addressing my points, instead of accusing me of getting riled up about it (because I said "what the fuck"?)One thing that I think some poeple heve understood wrong: Law created the creatures with his hability, not his DF hability, meaning that since he is a great doctor just like Hogback he patched the animal parts in operations. ugh, of course. Afterall, the dude is a doctor, I guess this makes a lot of sense.
-
How the hell do you actually make a dragon any how?
Is the dragon originally a man? Did they cross-breed a dinosaur and a guard dog? Did they make a chemical instamix, add water to make dragon?
