Can anyone tell me the differences between the American and Japanese versions before I buy it?
Considering Buying Grand Battle

Aokiji, Enel, Foxy and Afro Luffy are missing from the US version, and of course the voices are the US ones.
-
Aren't there some missing stages as well?

Oh that's right.
The Maxim and the Sexy Foxy are Japan only as well.
-
His ship is called the Sexy Foxy?
The Davy Back Fight costumes for the Straw hats are replaced with pallette swaps to. And in the U.S. version, a Gallery (with screencaps from Little Garden, oddly enough) replaces the Card Gallery, which in the Japanese version went up to Water 7. The Support characters have voices in the Jp version, and they can be used for fight announcers (I Think.) The Intro is different, and Smoker has his cigars in his mouth (I think.)
That's about it.
-
Ok thanks, so it's just some minor name/graphic changes and a few missing characters/stages?

JUST that?
If I buy a game, I want all of it.
If you have the money, I really suggest getting the Japanese version.

But it's only 20 bucks  The only game I have and ever will import is Jump Superstars.
I'm still a little annoyed by these changes, another reason to kick 4kids's ass. -

Perfect reason not to give them your money, but it's your money and I can't tell you what to do with it.

It's fun, and worth 10-15 dollars IMO, but 20's pushing it, simply because there's not a lot of depth. There's a lot to "collect", release characters and stages and voices, but after a while the main gameplay runs dry. After 60 times through the Davy Back Fights games– err Usopp Pirates Challenge games-- to get another voice or set of images, it's meh.
I occasionally fire it up to have Arlong or Smoker--err Chaser whoop a little ass to relieve stress, but that's it now.

I had imported the Japanese game (called "Grand Battle Rush!" if you're wondering) and I must say I'm plenty satisfied with it! Actually, I ocassionally use that game as a somewhat of a study aid for Japanese.
-
The only other thing is that the Davey Black Fight got replaced with the Usopp Pirate Games. Just buy it, I got it, and had a lot of fun with it.
-
It's a perfectly fun game, but does tend to get a little boring after you get everything, like B1B said. Still fun to watch all the Secret attacks, though.
-
I think the US version changed some storylines. The Davy Backfight was changed to Mini Games. I was really looking forward into using Foxy, Eneru, Aokiji and Afro Luffy, but sadly, Kahn murdered them. The dub voices are there, so I'm never going to give 4Kids my money ever again.

Yes, because any other company would have left them in at this stage of the US series.
-
A few things may be changed, but the fun factor sure isn't.
-
It's a good buy. You should buy it. You could import it… But it's costly.
A little TOO costly if you ask me. But that's just me.
I'd just buy the one availible here....
And Nicole... You should've known those characters won't make it in the American version, the dub is nowhere near to them showing up. And OF COURSE the dub voices will be there. That should be a given.

One more day… until the truth's revealed.
One Day Later...: Long story short, Grand Battle Rush can be bought on ebay for the same price (if you include shipping) as the U.S. Grand Battle. Of course you'll need a Freeloader or Action Replay to play it, but your local Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, etc. (Assuming you live in the U.S.) should carry one or the other for 20 bucks or less. In the end, it might cost "more" but the AR/Freeloader is an investment if you decide to pick up any more import titles, and from what I hear Naruto, and One Piece: Treasure Battle are two good ones, so...

WHAT!? I got my copy of it for 40 bucks while you guys can get it for 15!? I'm pissed of now.
