@Nobodyman:
Gotta admit, while that scene is awesome, the final episode JLU: Unlimited really underwhelmed. Just a one episode battle against Luthor and Darkseid that really didn't have much build up to and really didn't have much a sense of finality to it.
They really dropped the ball on the finale. I can't help but think they had intended for that be be a three parter, and then… it was only two, and they had to really rush it through, and sacrificed plot and characterization for the sake of a big fight. (Much like the Avatar finale.) I mean,
! Superman didn't even flinch at the Daily Planet getting horribly destroyed and probably, you know, all of his friends being killed as a result.
! What really pissed me off was BATMAN saying "Okay, let the villains go, they earned it." Erm… WHAT? Superman can have that line, but NOT Bats. 2 or 3 minutes is plenty of time for those mass murderes to take hostages and you know, do damage and hurt people.
@pyromonki:
It turns out I missed an entire season of JLU, I thought the series ended with "Epilogue".. or better yet, maybe I just wanted it to.
No, actually, you're better off ending there. Teen Titans also had a much better series finale in its next to last season with thte 3 part Trigon/Slade showdown.. that was freaking titled "THE END". Both shows succumbed to the same problem, in their final season they threw 70 random villains out, who had a really stupid master plan, and filled out the episodes with C-lister characters instead of the main cast. Justice League is particularly bad because
! they had a fake ultimate villain in place for a while, then denounced it near the end as "naw, that's just stupid", but the replacement wasn't much better.
And yes, the Terra episode was the FINAL episode of Teen Titans. To be fair, I think they were probably surprised at the cancellation since, you know, the show was extremely popular and doing very well. I kind of wish they had saved the "how they all met" episode for last, instead of randomly in the middle of that season.
And I was totally okay with the anime jokes in the movie since… the show totally got its style and vibe straight from FLCL anyway.
