Side question is Cheadle a beast thing? Or is she human? The Zodiacs are odd.
The Zodiacs aside from Ging(Boar) and Pariston(Rat) all changed their appearance to match their Zodiac animal.

Is Cheadle even confirmed to be a female? (w/ Togashi I can never tell!)
I think if Kaito had also had any knowledge about Gon's mother he may have been a tad more curious. But we can never know. At least not for now. I do like the speculation though. I think it'd be hilarious if it was Biscuit or Cheadle (only for their dog like similarities). Side question is Cheadle a beast thing? Or is she human? The Zodiacs are odd.
They altered their appearance to fit their theme, although Cheadle's isn't that extensive: just her upper jaw and her nose (which actually looks like it's just a rubber one on top of her real one). Her dog ears are just part of her hat. And Biscuit is in her 50's; I doubt Ging, in his mid 30's, has a thing for older women.
Mito isn't Gon's sister or his aunt. I mean, she was his aunt in the first anime (she was his mother's sister), but if you're talking about his mother being alive, then you've got to talk about the manga. In the manga, she's Ging's cousin, making her . . . Gon's first cousin once removed? Or something.
Also, his mother is definitely alive. According to Mito's mom, when Ging dropped Gon off with them, he said they separated. Which does make me think that we'll eventually see his mother, though Gon will likely show no interest. Heck, she's even worse than Ging, considering she left her son with him. Though on the other hand, ? I understand that in Japan, there's no joint custody and visitation rights are paltry at best. So perhaps she isn't so bad from a Japanese perspective.

She left her son with GING.
I think that's bad from any perspective.
By the way I liked the fresh episode. They showed Gon's bloodied hands, while I thought they will make them brown, like bruises and scratches. When they leave such minor things, it's easier to watch comfortably. I understand that card cutting poses problems, but I was ready for the lack of red hands too. Even if that could have raised question how butterflies reacted to unscratched hands. And they inserted pinhead murder too. A nice touch. Seems that they are okay with no-blood kills, or simply wanted to somehow darken situation to appropriate level without blood, or appeal to fans. And neat seeing Illumi's face shift, usually such stuff sucks animated and has stillshots.

Yup, first cousin once removed
Jesus, I thought that was a fantastic episode. That's something I'm probably gonna re-watch many times. It seems like they can show brutal kills if they don't show the "impact" of the kill, or the moment when the needle hits his face.
Stuck at ch.187… Trying to tough it out. I read 30 chapters in one go but lost motivation when the ending scenes of Greed Island were drawn messily.

don't read the messy chapters, there are better version online… forget the site though
I always thought the messy sketch drawings was Togashi just being lazy. Were they just rough drafts of the chapters? I didn't know there were better versions (with better drawings?) online. Damn.
I still read through it all anyway without much of a bother. My main focus was on the story rather than the drawings. Togashi's style always caught my eye as "rough" since the beginning anyway. I'm not a fan because of the drawing unless it comes down to those intense facial panels.
Tenmanga has the volume versions if i remember.
I was looking around and chapter 187 and 188 look like doodles everywhere, it resumes to looking normal on 189, though.
as far as i know there are no redrawn versions of 186 to 188(or maybe even more) online. but all chapters after that should have better drawings

I find some of thie editing self censoring interesting. They do show blood, and monkey P3nor, light swearing…And well Hisoka sunshine pelvic beams in the end theme...So I can't really figure out what their limit is supposed to be. I suppose it's alright, it's not like Toriko nerfs. I'm interested in seeing how they deal with the next episode cause I remember it was very intense.

The last chapter of Greed Island.
HI-LA-RI-OUS.
@No:
The last chapter of Greed Island.
HI-LA-RI-OUS.
I remember that. Everything was scribbles except for the turkey.
Just…....the fucking turkey.
! Killua is making his wish.
The lines reads as "Please turn Gon back to his original form"
! Something tells me Killua is going to regret being generic there. What if he turns Gon into an infant? Or a fetus? Or just simply reverts him to before he had Nen powers? Either way, this'll put "It" to sleep for a while, but there's gonna be hell to pay when it wakes up.
Text:
! Ox asks people to vote for Chidol
Chidol asks people to vote for Leorio
Leorio says if he becomes Chairman he'll put all the Hunter's Association resources into saving Gon.
Pariston has yet to make his speech.
! When Nanika is asleep, this is the only time Alluka is awake.
! Aside: vote tally shows Leorio + Ox + Chidol together has more votes for Pariston.
! Leorio for president!
! Leorio would have my vote, that's for sure. Still…so.....excited.
! Remember, it follows the intention of the wisher, not the wording of the wish, Killua didn't die, no one should be able to give a "spare liver", besides, that would be as bad ending as she killing everyone we know in the manga.
It's obvious that he regards his sister as his mother and his sister doesn't actually have to give birth to him for Gon to see it that way.
If you read what I'm saying I'm clearly saying I find it odd that Gon is so interested in chasing after his deadbeat father but his interest doesn't extend to finding out who his birth mother is. To me they're both in the same boat as neither one of them raised Gon or were involved in his life besides having him. I think it's natural for a child who wants to find his/her parents to look for BOTH parents rather than just 1, or just not be interested in either one. If your sister raises you how do you reach the mindset of, 'Ok, I'm not interested in finding my mother because a girl raised me already, but since a guy didn't raise me I'm super curious in finding my real father. My birth mother? …Meh.'
Why is the birth mother disregarded and the birth father taken precedence? According to Gon it's because his sister already raised him as a mother figure so obviously this would put his real mother on the back burner regarding any interest towards her. Ging is also a hunter which I mentioned already which gives him some bonus points.
That's all ok though because as I already said I understand this to be just a strange quirk to Gon. He's a very unnatural person and from reading the manga everyone knows that Gon's logic is...different than others. That is all fact. No, it's not "totally illogical" for Gon to be interested in his birth father but not his birth mother, and I'm not trying to make that the definite conclusion to all of this. It's anyone's opinion to how much sense that train of thought makes. Gon's sister raised him so he's not interested in his mother but he is interested in his dad...ok, cool. Just because I disagree with how much sense this makes doesn't mean it actually doens't make sense because we see things diffrently. That's where you and I would agree. Gon doesn't share my sentiment and of course that doesn't make him illogical, and I was never trying to imply that.
If you don't understand my logic that's fine though.
I think Him feels he would disrespect Mito in some way. He had a chance to learn, but refused because he felt Mito was his Mother. I think he will eventually learn through.
! from the raw on mangahead it looks like an amazing chapter.
still it's strange to me to imagine Leorio as chairman of the association
! Seems like hunters appreciate Leorio's speech. I wonder what Pariston will do now? And that last page with gon's body and alluka is scary:D
! Haha Leorio can't believe the audience like him, next up is Pariston's speech.
Wow . . . for once, the raw is up before the scanlation. goes to read
! Wait . . . did Leorio seriously just mention masturbation in his speech?!!! zurisen . . .
So when is Shoot gonna wake up?

seems like it but that wouldn't make any sense whatsoever. Hopefully I'm just not getting something about it, looking forward how it will be translated.

No, it actually makes perfect sense in context. If no one comes out with a translation before I get back from class, I can post one. It's actually a pretty easy chapter.

Mmh ^^ ok just seemed to me a little weird that he would say that suddenly so is he just trying to divert their attention by saying something embarassing? or do people in japan say that if they want people forget about sth.
edit: ah damnit totally missed the first reference it's all clear now

P.S. wait, I even had an avatar?? I don't remember adding it, maybe I should consult a physician…

That was my doing. Did it a long while back in fact. I'm a big Slayers fan. I couldn't sit idly by while Xellos was in our midst for seven years with no image at all!
You can take it off if you want.
Ayo Robby give me a thing too broham, gibberish is cool like Slayers.
chapter is out on mstream
I love Leorio, but sadly Pariston wanna keep playing this game for a little longer.
I feel like the only thing Pariston can do at this point is threaten the audience into voting for him by talking about the existence of all those cocoons he stole. And after Leorio's monologue, I really do feel that he'd be a great chairman. Being a doctor would seem like the best choice, but Leorio's always been incredibly charismatic and lovable. He's a born leader.
…and, finally! Gon's about to healed. Holy shit! Can't even wait! Wish I had some Waitmate so I could just go to sleep and wake up in a week! This is the moment of truth, a pivotal point in the series that could easily determine the fate of all the main characters. Will Gon awake Nen-less or permanently crippled? Will he be healed to normal but kill Alluka in the process and forever lose Killua's friendship and trust? Super exciting!
Interesting chapter.
Wonder if Pariston is gonna do something rash for the hell of it, or step back and let the plot continue.
I'm really interested what happens to alluka after gon is healed. Will they search for a way to seal his/her nen away?
I think Pariston is going to support leorio and trying to make him his puppet afterwards.
He's cunning enough for that.
That explination that comes up for allukas abilty makes no sense, that's not just me is it? I hope they'll redo the translation for that bit…
Loved Leorio's speech, he would indeed make a good chairman. The explanation for Alluka/"It"'s powers were confusing as fuck though.
I feel like Leorio will make Kuropika his vice chairman if elected.
Hmm, no idea what's being explained on the page where Killua states that ut would be best of this is the last wish it grants.
Then there was Tsubunes thoughts on Illumi.
"So cruel, so sinister." "His evil ambitions have even caused him to stray from the path of an assassin."
I wonder what Illumi is up to. It could be just a reference to the fact that Illumi nonchalantly kills innocent people, and uses them as tools. His mother, and Milluki also seem to not have a problem with killing innocent people, but Zeno, and maybe Silva, avoid the deaths of innocent people if they can.
But if the translations is correct, apparently Illumi has some goal he would like to achieve. (other than raising Killua to be a cold blooded killer.)

It's pretty convoluted but as I understand it.
Also translating Nanika to it may not have been the best choice since it's easier to understand if we treat it as a name rather than a neutral thing.
Allukas and Nanika share the same body when one of them is awake the other isn't.
The conditions or moments when Nanika is being "asleep/unconcious" are:
1. When somebody fails to fulfill a request of Nanika. The time period between when people die and when Nanika has the chance to ask a level 1 request from someone else, Alluka is awake.
2. The time while a wish is made and the one who made the wish gets away from Nanika disabling her to make any requests. (assuming like Milluki did after his pc request)
3. Is pretty clear I think but just rephrase it for the sake of completion. The time after Nanika healed someone and falls asleep and someone does a request to Alluka and Alluka fullfills it, which is basically the current situation.
That means after Gon is healed Alluka is staying in control over her body until another wish is made. Which is why Killua thinks that it would be the best if nobody ever again makes a wish.
Alluka/Nanika ability is pretty interesting but I have to admit making so many rules that it's hard to have an overview as a reader is a mistake as a writer.
Minus points for Togashi.
Alluka's ability = King Crimson, both are mindfuck when the subject is ''understand how it works''.
Nice build up chapter. Partison's move next week and Gon possibly being healed is sure to bring some great moments next chapter.
Oh my glob,
Hunter X Hunter is so. frikkin'.
GOOD.
Holy Shit.
That would be much appreciated!
Heh, MS went up while I was in class. They only really screwed up two pages (though I will say that they were the two most difficult pages).
http://mangastream.com/read/hunter_x_hunter/12221882/12
On this page, Tsubone is talking about Killua. Remember, she's in the hospital with him, not out watching Illumi.
My translation (Tsubone's words are kind of loosely translated to make them sound better in English). Italics=thoughts, and I'm too lazy to type characters' names more than once, so any subsequent lines are marked with the first letter of their names.
[hide]Illumi: I thought so.
I: There’s a rule that doesn’t apply to Killua
I: Does it not apply “Because it’s Killua”
I: or is it “Because it’s after you made a wish for something to be healed”? I need to find out.
Phone: Yeah, I get it.
I: Either way . . . the power to destroy . . . the power to heal . . .
I: If I can harness that power, it will become an unparalleled tool
Tsubone: Wicked, inhuman boy
T: Even though you have left the path of the assassin, you have such wicked designs
T: You’re doing such a cruel thing
T: Didn’t you suffer when you were the one being controlled?[/hide]
http://mangastream.com/read/hunter_x_hunter/12221882/13
Pretty sure my translation is more accurate for this page, too. I don't guarentee 100% accuracy, but I think it's better.
[hide]Killua: Alluka is only awake when Nanika is sleeping. It seems like Alluka is around a lot, but she’s really not.
K: Alluka’s only there during the time after someone fails to meet Nanika’s “pesterings,” until the next person gets “pesterings” returned to level 1
K: when Nanika’s “pesterings” are interrupted by the one being pestered leaving her
K: and after Nanika heals something and falls asleep but before a wish is asked of Alluka and granted
K: The best thing would be
K: for this to be the last wish
K: and to never ask anything of Nanika again[/hide]
Maybe that clears a few things up? I hope anyway.
Anyway, it seems like Nanika is the one doing all the serious pestering and all the wish granting. Killua has promised to be with Alluka always. So, it would seem like hidden within the rules of when Alluka "exists" is a way to make Nanika cease to exist, and that is what Killua is aiming for. Which is why Tsubone calls him cruel. After all, he just said a few chapters ago that Nanika is actually very kind.
Also . . . last chapter, Ging was manipulating Cheadle into giving Leorio an advantage? Heh. I like. And there's no way he'll give up his dream of being a doctor that easily. Not after all he went through to become a hunter. He'll just have to do both. Pariston is still worrisome, though.
Pariston lost his poker face, Leorio should be fine.
Pariston might be more dangerous when he stops smiling because that's when he gets serious.
