Kim Jong-Il dead!

A new drinking game? awesome :ninja:
-
This was kind of unexpected.
2011 really hates dictators. -
The infinite sadness and countless tears that are about to fall in the next weeks probably won't help North Korea retain its status as world's second happiest country.
-
Today a million sparrows descended upon the Glorious Democratic People's Republic of Korea and bowed their heads in mourning
The honorable feces of these sparrows shall be used to erect a humble statue of our Dearly Departed Leader

Interesting how their overwhelment doesn't prevent them from standing in perfectly even lines.
-
These guys are actually pretty restrained compared to some videos I've seen of Sung's mourning. Entire throngs were basically undulating in grief.
-
Guy in the background at 1:20 appears to not give a fuck.
This is disturbing as hell on both sides of the spectrum.
1.) It's hard to see hundreds of people mourning in grief like that.
2.) It's hard to see hundreds of people mourn a dictator who let thousands upon thousands of his own people starve because he made military presence priority over the well being of his "beloved" people.
It's just sad all the way around.
-
That video was too painful to watch. Unbelievable…
-
Bets in on who's next?
-
No tears, no food.

I will put some money on Beiber
-
I'd like to bet Bieber but it probably won't happen.
@bartholemew:
I will put some money on Beiber
Oh my god. Please don't tell me you guys are some of those people.
If you don't like his music then whatever, but I'm so sick of people wishing the guy would get killed or maimed. Like seriously?
-
Making crappy music and making millions of people happy is way more offensive than ruling with an iron fist and oppressing millions of people, pyromonki. Get your priorities straight.
-

Are you fucking serious
I'm not looking for a fight, but did you just really drag fucking bieber into a conversation about a goddamn madman? I don't like the guy either, but for god sakes, can't we keep this garbage out of good threads like these?
Anyway, good riddance. -
RIP Dear Leader Comrade Supreme Commander

@Cuddles:
I just realized I could make a heart attack joke without it being a Death Note reference.
"He died of a heart attack? What heart?"Is it bad I enjoyed this joke?
Anyway, thank goodness he's finally gone.

Cyan what do you mean by inept?
He is probably the closest person qualified for that job in the countries eyes.
Though for us people living in reality its just bad bad…just plain bad.
The thing that pisses me off is the fact that he has to be like Kim to keep things calm and prevent one of the more psychotic generals taking over. But in doing so the situation remains awful.
In short the country is screwed whatever way it goes until he has enough power to dominate his rivals and make the changes necessary to bring peace back to the country.
I guess he could:
-
release the hundreds of thousands from the prisons.
-
Open up the cities,
-
end the war with the south
-
etc
One thing is for sure, and that's that nothing much will change in the next year or so.
-
-
Man, with Kim's son's looks and social skills he's gonna have a lot of trouble getting laid(if he doesn't threaten someone's life).
Well at least he's taller than his 5'3 father. That's a start I guess
-
I was really surprised when I read this today. There is one person that will miss him though. It seems Kim's dear friend and badminton doubles partner General Aladeen(Sacha Baron Cohen) released a statement:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/19/kim-jong-il-dies-sacha-baron-cohen_n_1158275.html
His thoughts go out to K-Jo's wife and 813 children and he invites Kim Jong Un to join him, Ahmadinejad, Chavez and Newt Gingrich in the Axis of Evil.
-
Saw this in the paper this morning, and the first thought I had was "Awwww, I bet AP had a post about this, and I didn't see it!"
Knew I could count on you guys.
2011 is swatting them down like flies down to the bitter end, I'm curious as to the rebuilding 2012 will bring. I'm not even going to try to speculate on any changes to N. Korea (if any), because it's been such a crazy f-ing year NO ONE could have predicted.

Marx: We need to talk. gets out beating stickFuck you Che Guevara is a hero and one of the greatest revolutionaries ever. A man who traveled all across South America as a Doctor on a motorcycle to help the poor who couldn't afford to see one. A man who saw the vast gap between the rich and the poor in Cuba and saw America's imperialistic ways first hand. A man who after revolutionizing Cuba went on to help other nations (Congo, Bolivia). I ask you this question do you consider Nelson Mandela to be a great man and revolutionary? Mandela was a great admirer of Che "Che's life is an inspiration for every human being who loves freedom. We will always honor his memory" -Nelson Mandela. One of the greatest philosophers of our time Jean Paul Satre said this "Che was the most complete human being of our age."
Don't tell me that your so fucking stupid that you actually buy all that American propaganda. You want to know why America hates Che and Fidel so much, it's because they kicked the American businesses that out of their country and gave those businesses back to Cubans. Hence the embargo which is stifling the country. Next time educate yourself and don't pull shit out of your ass.

And he kicked the bucket in 09.

"Ban me, cowards, you are only going to get rid of a poster!".
-
Well, you know, you give a commie an inch, he takes a mile.
In reality, I dunno. Also, I think Il's son looks like a clod, but then again, it's more likely the millitary is in control, so whatever.
-Edit: There was a post here before this.

I thought Robfather was just kidding around, but reading his post over I realized he was actually serious….
-
Looks at Waffles' avatar
Remembers what The Robfather's avatar wasyou guys friends?
-
Maybe he is Cuban and took great offence to what the other poster said, insulting Guevara saying he is in hell. Infact I would argue that saying that is worse than his response. Who are we to judge who's political views are allowed and who's aren't. If you read his post he does make a lot of sense. This doesn't sit well with me.

What part of that was wrong? Enlighten me.

Guys I'm American, and what Joe McCarthy did was totally right guys. He may have been rash but we sent those commies back to Poland or wherever hellspawn they came from.
-
If one of them isn't in hell it's El Che, as he died before he became corrupt with power, like his friend Fidel.
Cubans are SO happy that they risk their lives to reach miami to spread the happiness.
Cubans come to Venezuela to work and escape the work programs because they think that we should have those jobs, not to escape Cuba.
Fidel is such a great leader that he doesn't compromise his ideals for the sake of his people, but they don't leave him live in missery.
The latin american dictator, full of patriotic feeling and a comunist streak, "Give it to the people", well, when the people don't have the education to operate the means of productions, nor the ability to maintain those means, nor the motivation to work those means, it's a production model that will not work. Then they hire China/Iran/Belarus to take the productions! Because no one wants to work for their beautiful dream, so you pay foregin handiwork, instead of you know, taking care of the broken parts of the system.
El Che was a nice enough guy, but he put his bet in the selfish, envious, stuborn, nearsighted, hypocrital lot, and he would have turned out like that if he haven't died young.

Marx: We need to talk. gets out beating stickNo, that would have already been taken out on Il-Sung. With the regime already set up, Jong-Il doesn't deserve to be classified as anything aside from just another dictator, not to play down any of the human-rights violations and all else.
In regards to whether or not anything with NK is going to change- The main difference is, while his father and grandfather understood the real situation of North Korea and how they were full of shit, odds are Jong-Un actually believes all of it.
Though that's also assuming he actually has any power, so to that extent we can't really know.
-
Huh, wouldn't have known if I hadn't decided to check AP tonight.
not terribly surprising, but i suppose this decent news, don't know if changes anything at all. Except for you know, which dictator.

I feel bad for writers who have to write next season. 2012 won't be good enough.
Which is why it won't be renewed for season 2013. :ninja:

Again, Jang Sung-Taek has likely been the person really been running the country for the past year or so, I don't really expect him to immediately hand back control to somebody with as little experience as his nephew.

Well Kim did demand the us pay him more then the total sum of all the money in the world for "dammages" from the Korean war. But Gaddafi did say "democracy" was from the arabic "people sitting on chairs".
It's so hard to chose !

@The:
Fuck you Che Guevara is a hero and one of the greatest revolutionaries ever.
He was secretly kinda racist and whined about how the Russians wouldn't let him nuke America if they got their missiles into Cuba. The only successful revolution he really helped was Cuba's. In Africa he whined about the locals being dumb, than he got killed in Bolivia. Now he's one of the world's greatest symbols of capitalism through t-shirt sales lol.
Also Communism was and is a tremendously broken idealogy that has abjectly failed and gone into the dustbin of history. So Che's overall impact on the world is pretty much irrelevant now except for providing t-shirt sales.Don't tell me that your so fucking stupid that you actually buy all that American propaganda. You want to know why America hates Che and Fidel so much, it's because they kicked the American businesses that out of their country and gave those businesses back to Cubans. Maybe it was the "hosting nuclear missiles" thing that almost happened. Unless you really think that beyond the 60's those business interests are relevant.
Cuba is completely irrelevant in the world now and has been for decades. It's been left behind by history in the region and should be extremely grateful they have a big dumb fanboy in charge of an oil rich country to their south. -

Its always startling to see Zeph get nicer in his arguments/replies to bullshit post, previously he would have shot a vicious insult and followed by witty sarcasm…but now he seems like a wise high school teacher giving lectures.
That's not a bad thing though. Just evolution.

He's 27 not 12.
And surely good things must come of this, a regime change coming at a time when North Korean skepticality is said to be on the rise. is perhaps naively optimistic
