@mr.french:
Wouldn't Blackbeard have been a tough opponent alone with the Guru Guru fruit and the Darkness logia that he has? I mean from this chapter it seems he gained the title Yonkou from those two abilities alone, unless I'm mistaken. I at least hope he can somehow give/transfer DF to his crew mates.
Meant the crewmates not Teach.
I thought about it, but one thought came to mind. If he became Fleet Admiral, and he was confronted in some manner with Dragon, wouldn't he take action against him? He was a marine, and therefore he had to at some level believe in the organization that he was apart of. Why join the Revolutionaries, when he will most likely tarnish his honorable image across the OP world. Anyways, I always thought of Aokiji as a "lone-wolf" type character. Being as he would leave Headquarters whenever he felt like it. I find it more believable that Aokiji is alone somewhere, watching things from a distance, but not involving himself with any organization. I do believe he will come back near the end of the manga, where the WG will be in a state of chaos. Aokiji may come back to take the "throne" of Fleet Admiral, and will lead the marines after the restructuring of the WG.
Before he could condone the WG actions when it was Sengoku and Garp at the top. Now its is a bit harder when people actually fought to promote Akainu against him, Garp&Sengoku are gone, and I bet he had a similar reaction to Sengoku about ID incident. Why would he continue supporting an institution that is clearly not going down the right path. Can't imagine Dragon not wanting to get into contact with Aokiji and even a former Admiral can't do much to save the world alone.
So do I. Being that Akainu leading the marines has made them in a general sense a bit more antagonistic, I can only assume that Oda would want to place in those missing seats with characters that promot Absolute Justice, as does Akainu. Like with Doberman, and Onigumo. I stated this in the spoiler thread. And hopefully, we'll see new characters fill in the roles of Vice Admiral. I'm also looking forward to, if and when Lucci comes back, if he hasn't already. My theory is that, since he was also a man that believes in Absolute Justice, he would feel comfortable coming back to the marines with a leader such as Akainu.
Lucci was never a marine and the WG is after CP9. I think they actually have a bigger chance at being Revolutionaries than Aokiji who could end up doing something else entirely. They already have the costumes. Whatever there role I doubt it will ever involve helping the WG in any form again.
