VERY cool tank cover included and a nice calendar for 2006 but completely lacking any extras like the last few be it an extra comic or character sketches. Starting to get to more of Odas detailed colored pages though and that
s very nice!

I've Asked this before and nobody's answered me, but What ARE the logs?

Someone once said that is the manga with bigger pages and some extra stuff  (But I'm not sure)

Probably nobody answered it because it's been answered too many times: http://ap.animemedia.org/showthread.php?t=4549

The Logs don´t contain anything new in terms of story that hasn´t been seen so far. The only difference to the manga volumes themselves is that the pages are twice as big (if I´m not mistaken that´s the original size the come out in the Shonen Jump magazine).
Other than that, unlike in the manga volumes the colored title pages are in fact in color. The paper quality is not as good though however the logs cover much more chapters then a regular volume. In fact the logs are seperated by stories. The first Log started from chapter 1 up to when they left Usopps village. The second Log covered everything about Baratie and Sanji. The third Log covered the entire Arlong/Nami thing. The fourth Log will probably cover everything up from Loguetown until they leave Little Garden.
All in all the Logs really are just colectors items. They are not a must have for the rest. But since I consider myself a collector, I need to get my hands on those babies.
Edit: Well Ocean beat me to it.

Actually, these are released for kids who cannot buy individual tanko (cause they are expensive) to read One Piece in one breath. I don't remember where I read about it, but that's the story I heard. -
Well that´s even a better take on them as mine. And a much more noble one IMO. I stand corrected.
-
it Sounds like they are jumping the Gun and Releasing Kanzenban before The Series is even over
-
It's not kanzenban. Paper quality is worse than kanzenban or even tanko. Better than weekly magazine though. And same size as weekly magazine, which is much bigger than kanzen/tanko.
(Meaning… I'm sure Shuei-sha will release Kanzenban and Bunkoban when the series ended. Now that's collector's item... but I collect them all anyway xD; )
-
Ok, now for the idiots of us, like myself, what exactly are Kanzenban and Bunkoban? :molly:
-
Kanzen = complete, same or better paper quality as tanko, usually contains color pages, and slightly bigger than tanko.
Bunko = smaller version of tanko, usually comes with a little bit more chapter. Good for carrying around.

Haha! Not even close! If these were OPs kanzenban I
d storm Shueisha myself. They
re riddled with ads, the paper quality goes down the shitter if it gets even a bit humid and they`re remarkably clumsy. What they`re good for are some rare extras like the BEAUTIFUL tank covers, extra comics and early sketches. However, it seems to be a total toss-up from log to log whether or not the latter of these are included or not. 4th is particularly ad heavy although there is a very cool color page advertising 5th Log.

-

Why would they develop kanzenban when a series isn`t over? And as far as kanzenban go, the DB ones are pretty weak what with their editing and removal of chapter covers.
I've still never been able to find where they are sold online.. x.x
I just read in 4 that you can order all past Logs through book stores! I dunno if this applies to Japanese bookstores in the US though.

The Chapter Covers ARE there, just in the Back in one Collection

You don
t have to tell me. I
ve had them all for quite some time. But it remains that not all covers are included, some are edited (like the removal of a cig from underage Bulmas mouth) and some of the greatest writing on them has been removed. Try to find Vegeta
s death poem on the cover from when he died. Stuff like that in a kanzenban release is just awkward and unecessary. For one of the most influential modern action manga of all time you
d think they
d have taken every step to make it as perfect as possible. The other big WTF is the changed ending. While yeah sure, it
s kinda cool, why the hell didn
t they also include the original? -

Yea, who knows. DBZ tanks also had the covers at the end though also, didn't they?
(also, omae… clear out your pm box o.o)

I love the New ending! it Shows more of Son's Progression from The Student to the Teacher and shows That Ubuu isnt Evil. The only Wierd Part is Vegeta Saying "Kakarotto, I will show you Defeat" in the End. Hadn't He gotten over that During the Fight With Kid Boo? Regardless, Toriyama did the New Ending. and this time it didnt Seem like he Rushed to just end it, He actually has a Filling ending That he did the way he wants it. If it were someone Else making the ending, I would be as mad as you but Since Toriyama did it himself I think that makes it better.
I dont have them all, So not having Vegeta's Death Poem and Buruma having a cig removed are news to me.
although, I like the New Covers very much, it shows Toriyama put time into making them for the New release.
and, when you say Covers, do you mean "Chapter title" covers or the Actual Tankoubon Covers? cuz the Volume where Freeza kills Vegeta doesnt have the poem on it
