What?! WOW. Who translated this, it's not up on mangastream yet?! Thanks!!!
And - first?!!! -
Sanji is boss in this chapter. Tsaking hits from both Luffy and Jinbei… but is chilling at the ground and talking like nothing happened. That's my buddy
-
Yay 3rd for the first time on the first Page ahahaha ! <3 Thanks everyone
-
Oh wow! I wonder who did this? Well whatever. Awesome!
-
Thanks for the chapter!
My, Hordy is showing bond-villain levels of stupidty here.
-
Hmmm not the exchange I was hoping for between Hatchan and the Strawhats but by no means wasted either … Chapter is looking good though.
-
Good chapter. Brook and Robins new powers are cool.
-
Well for me it doesn't seems liek a new fight will happen. The ending of the ecene seemed a bit like a comedy.
other note… Seems like Nami and Chopper still have no clue about methods of injuring Luffy... that includes haki
-
Well that was quick.
-

Thank God! For the last six months I've been slowly losing hope for him. Let's just hope that those dark times never come back.
-
Thank you for the early release. Robin won the chapter for me. Now people can stop speculating about whether the candy factory created the drugs or not. The candy factory is simply a candy factory.
-

Yeah the whole chapter is potraying it far better than the spoiler. Pretty bad-ass standing up after this hit as if it was nothing
-
Some people were quick to judge Sanji, he was awesome this chapter.
Much, much better chapter than I expected.
-
Brook just got so much more awesome!
-
And at the people… Luffy serioulsy has shown his full strenght
-
Brook's new ability made me lol… Especially "what do you think I've been doing?!..." and Usopp's "Zoro! I'm jealous of this guy!"
Also Pappugg fleeing from Brook was hilarious. But this skill is insane! Genius right there, and what a great addition... Robin's clones seem to be confirmed as well. Good chapter overall.Didn't really dig the Luffy-Jinbe-Sanji confrontation, though, as Kishi said, it ended a bit too light-hearted, and that doesn't fit with the chapter title at all... Great, now I am AGAIN waiting for next week to actually see how it goes. Also, we can now see clearly that Luffy isn't overpowering Jinbe who is still a major badass. Good, good... Mwuahaha :ninja:
-
Really quick release, just as my day was starting.
Brook's new skill is…interesting. And Robin's clone power seemed confirmed as well. And Daruma...somehow I got Pac-Man images from that.
-
Lol at Brook .
-
@Tokoro:
And Daruma…somehow I got Pac-Man images from that.
You too? I`ve been doing Wa-kya Wa-kya Wa-kya since i read the spoilers :3
Loved Daruma on this chapter, can`t wait to see the other officers and what can they do :3
-

I agree completely. I'm probably exaggerating but it's almost as awesome as this page: http://www.mangareader.net/103-2391-15/one-piece/chapter-284.html
Ah, good times. Sanji needs more of that. -
By the way… Now we know that Jinbei hasn't to have haki and have an explanation how he was able to fight Logia Ace at land
-
And at the people… Luffy serioulsy has shown his full strenght
By that argument neither has Jinbei.
-

Ah, good times. Sanji needs more of that.He does indeed; but this chapter made up for his dickish attitude before by being the awesome pure badass mofo as we love him :P
-
Will the factory being damaged serve any purpose or am I just being hopeful?
-
lol brook did peeked in his soul form
-
Will the factory being damaged serve any purpose or am I just being hopeful?
Well presumably Big Mam might have a problem with that.
-
By that argument neither has Jinbei.
That's why the fight is worth shit. We can't say anything after this little blow
-
Oh, Brook… he definitely won this chapter for me. And lol at Usopp being jealous... just imagine how jealous Sanji would be if he finds out...
Also, Robin's new powers seem cool, too. I really hope that she can now also fly longer. -
Oda answered peoples requests for non haki related ways to hit DF users and that Jinbei does in fact attack with water vapor in the air. No more of this water bender needing haki to fight a fire logia ideas. Some people complained about Luffy's display against Jinbei but chapter made it clear to me Luffy>Jinbe on land. That kick lefts its mark and both had equal power behind their restrained punches. No way he is using Haki since he isn't predicting or blocking anything and no way Sanji took a haki hit so casually. Clearly he is holding back as Luffy never goes all out at first. Why we see only normal punches vs Bellamy and Carlos; why Blueno could take him initially, and why his attacks don't do much to the sphinx but weaker Mr.2 fucks it up. Even Rob Lucci got it easy since Luffy could have crippled with G2 at the start of the fight; same with Moriah.
-
This chapter is good.
I like how things are really serious but we can still have some laughs and have a look at Robin's and Brook's new powers.
If we take a look at the colorspread again, Brook has some green "smokes" (I just don't know how to call it) behind him, would that mean his spirit is greenish? -
Ah, yes, yes, I do seem to recall those days of olde when Brook was considered useless…
-
Will the factory being damaged serve any purpose or am I just being hopeful?
Well since Luffy is the one I think will lead to the destruction of FI (probably in a good way), I always thought that would create a rivalry between him and Big Mam which would develop further in the NW.
Chapter wasn't too bad. Didn't really like how Luffy vs Jinbe went down, it was a bit of a mess. Nothing has really developed since the last chapter except Robin's arrival. The three-way clash was hilarious though… Sanji took the shots like a badman.
Brooke's new ability is brilliant. Pappug's reaction was hilarious... an excuse for the water to fill up on Zoro, Brooke and Usopp to the point of near catastrophe.
Hodi Jones is a boring villian.
-
Awesome chapter. So many moments were priceless, especially Luffy, Jinbe and Sanji's expressions at being punched out and Brook's antics.
-
Wait…
Not Mangastream!?
And so early?Who cares!
Let's go reading. :) -
Good chapter, though is feels like the story didn't move forward. Rather, it got paused for a random series of character developments. I loved Luffy vs Jimbei, I always thought Jimbei must have CoA but apparently Fishman Karate can damage people regardless of devil fruit powers. Neat. Oh and I liked seeing both of them get hits in before Sanji's epic interruption. It doesn't feel like they've decided on a plan of action, but they're working on it.
Daruma…I'm glad Hodi' men are getting development, but is this really is? The guy has tough teeth? I guess chewing through walls in a line, and the ground is different but nothing mind blowing. I do love that expression he makes though. Not at much as Brooke's new powers though! With this his potential to be comic relief only grows.
-
It looked like Luffy did some damage what i didn't like about the chapter is Sanji going from wanting to whup jenbei's ass to be more understanding. Sanji getting hit was revenge for hitting Usopp after he first joined, Zoro is paying for that to. Jenbei is coming off as a real asshole which is goood sense he is a pirate captain just like Luffy. Seems no joining is apparent.

If we take a look at the colorspread again, Brook has some green "smokes" (I just don't know how to call it) behind him, would that mean his spirit is greenish?Good find! My guess is, yes, it might actually be… Hm.
By the way, someone else noticed that on the cover, Genzo sees a picture of Nami after the timeskip? So that means they have pictures in the newspapers... Also notice the creeps behind her.
Well, maybe Oda just put this in to depict Genzo imagining her now, who knows. And, no Pandaman this chapter again? Disappointed. :ninja:
-
and here I thought I was gonna see a gear 3rd empowered w/ haki haha, awesome chapter. Sanji's the man, he took Luffy and Jinbei's punch squarely.
-
No Oda, no. You don't make Sanji get heart-eyed and frivolous twice in one chapter, especially not when he's giving a seemingly badass speech with Good ol' Sanji vibes. Stop reading the suggestions those little kids send you and treat your characters as if they were real humans, because that's what they're supposed to be. The man's supposed to be a strong, believable fighter, but you're making him nothing but an embodiment of comic relief. Beat the crap out of Sanji's getting old already.
Otherwise, the chapter was good. Jinbe's actions finally make some sense. The way he's acting is still a tad stupid considering he and Luffy could cooperate and tell the public that Luffy was helping Jinbe just because he asked for it, but whatever. Robin's new skills are interesting and will definitely prove out to be highly useful. Waiting to see more of that. That's the case with Brook as well. I'm looking forward to seeing whether he can actually possess other living bodies or switch from a dead body to another, making him hard to fight and also highly useful as a spy.
-
Noticed Luffy again uses Gear 2 only on his leg while doing a Jet Stomp. It's as good as confirmed now that he can use it partially, which is a huge improvement.
-
Also, we can now see clearly that Luffy isn't overpowering Jinbe who is still a major badass. Good, good… Mwuahaha :ninja:
We can? Sorry, but that's stupid. Someone Forgot Luffy vs Franky, or even Luffy vs Usopp.
-
@Dan:

Did you not notice the immensely sarcastic "Good, good… Mwuahaha :ninja:" at the end of my post?
ESPECIALLY the :ninja:. Come on, now…I'm still convinced Luffy is stronger than Jinbe by quite a lot after the timeskip.
-
poor Sanji
16 characters of outch -
Sorry. My fail. Derp.

M-…Mangastream-kun? ;_;
Y-you're just feeling a little sick Mangastream-kun. Your servers have been shaky lately, and that's just affecting your performance, that's all.
But seriously this is the first time I've seen this happen in a long, long time.
And Jinbe did seem to be reeling from Luffy's stamp, but seems to have an ulterior, mentor motive. "if u cant beat me u cant survive here" or something akin to that.
-
Well, u don't c anything in the newspaper from vol.1, but there could be a pic of Nami just like how Genzo's imagination.
It'd make sense though:
If there is a pic of a hot girl in the newspaper, what do u think, how many male people more would buy that newspaper?
So Brook can't detatch his bones, but could let his soul leave his body.
In the colorspread we already saw some soul-lookin things around Brook.
And the Robin-clone thing is also confirmed now.
And btw this stupid "can she clone a gold-necklace or weapons"-discussion is kinda useless:
first: all cloned stuff disappears again after a short period of time
second: Robin has no use 4 money, neither does she need weapons to beat her opponents. the breakurneck-thing worked well 4 her yet.
So it doesn't matter IF she can clone this stuff, she DOESN'T NEED TO DO IT!
Her clothes are the exception and Oda explained why a df-ability affects the user's clothes. its because otherwise we'd see naked bodies all the time! -
The way he's acting is still a tad stupid considering he and Luffy could cooperate and tell the public that Luffy was helping Jinbe just because he asked for it, but whatever.
Except Luffy will steal the spotlight as usual. He wont be a sidekick to anyone, and never works with anyone consistently. Luffy would defeat Hordy and make it very, very noticeable like he has done with every other defeat of a villian. That alone would make it hard for Jinbe to convince Fishman Island that Luffy was just "helping him out". So I can understand Jinbe's reasons… but at the same time FI is heading in the wrong direction and shit needs to happen and quick.
-
I cross my fingers that Brook will be able to possess inanimate objects. I'm glad that the officers are getting some spotlight, but I hope that if Daruma ever comes across Usopp or chopper they'll say "It's just like that mole woman!". Because thats sadly what he is. Between Carbou, Daruma and now brook, its sad to see Oda recycle abilities.

I'm not so sure. It Jinbe is a really upfront character. If he says he's doing something for that reason, it seems like that's the reason he's doing it. Period. If anything, this might be to repay his debt for not stopping Arlong himself. And he's not wrong about the way many on Fishman Island would view if a group of Humans just came thru and smashed all the Fishman Pirates. I think if anything the damage Hordy is doing to his fellow Fishmen and Merfolk will be his undoing when the people will ask for someone to take him down.
