I bet Funi wouldnt mind doing all that. Its the fact that it has failed twice that makes no one want to do anything with it.
One Piece On Nicktoons Yay Or Nay

Third time's the charm.
-
I'm thinking of posting the "One Piece" fanpage on Facebook to Nicktoons' wall, what do you guys think?
-
I was under the assumption that they dubbed the regular and edited lines at the same time, just in case a TV opportunity came up, but that's just wishful thinking I guess.

'Don't see any harm in it, try it out.
-
Yeah, I second that! DO IT!
But be polite!
-
Yeah, go ahead. It's worth a shot.
-
Nicktoons is becoming more and more awesome!
-
If One Piece somehow manages to get on Nicktoons, then hell, I can call it the best channel to watch good cartoons/anime.

Yeah, too bad a ton of people don't get Nicktoons. (Myself included)
-
Yay as long as they don't edit anything

That's unrealistic to think it wouldn't get edited.
-
-
Anime must be edited in order to be aired inAmerican television, especially on a childrens network. There are decency laws, prohibiting smoking, alcohol, etc…

Ok this is starting to feel like spam, can you stop it?

At least stop using the mobile link.

At least stop posting forever

So it look like Dragon Ball GT is set to air on Nicktoons after DBZ Kai is over (and there is rumors of the Buu saga airing airing as well). Does this mean other Funimation anime such as One Piece is in Nicktoon's future? The more good new we hear the better our chances are so let's keep telling Nick what we want.
-
I doubt it happening soon, but if the ratings for something like Dragon Ball continues to be great, and the guys at Funimation say "Well this series did pretty good on Toonami, and it's similar to DBZ, why not check it out" it may happen. Again, I don't see it happening soon, though.
-
well i think it would be nice if it gets One piece dubbed episodes out faster like Bleach
-
Nicktoons just wants more "Dragonball", plain and simple.
-
Why would Nicktoons jump right from Kai to DragonBall GT? There's so much information missed from that jump. Plus if Nicktoons uses the American score for GT I more than likely won't watch it seeing as how that score just annoys me with ear-grating guitar. Same if they use the American music for the Majin Boo arc.
They should keep the Shunsuke Kikuchi score for the Boo arc at least so it will be in unison with the Kai score. Hopefully they'll also use Akihito Tokunaga's GT score.

Yah, really doesn't make sense what NickToons TV is doing, GT isn't that great any ways or popular so. They should just get more anime, I figure One Piece is more of what the type they need. Cartoon Network is not the best option for One Piece, that hardly airs any anime and if its not getting ratings they'll switch it around to where you won't know what time its on.

why it is cancelled

why it is cancelled
What do you mean cancelled? They're just airing reruns of GT.
Anyway I imagine this'll do pretty well, I mean even if kids get lost in the story they'll get caught up and it's just another "Dragonball" that looks cool.
-
I doubt kids will even like GT. I know majority of the ones i grew up with didn't. They should just air the toonami boo saga.
Or better yet, acquire One Piece.

Thinking no kids are not going to like GT is completely unrealistic. In fact my friend told me he heard once that at a FUNimation panel GT sold somewhat better than Z. I'd believe it.
-
It seems Nicktoons is getting more and more anime. They just announced they are going to air Yu Gi Oh!

They announced that a while ago, they just started AIRING it, the announcement was last month.
-
Actually, they postponed the airing to january 21.
-
I really don't know how to feel on this one. On one hand I'd love for One Piece to get more popularity, but what type of popularity?
From an outsider's look One Piece already looks like a "kids" show. Wouldn't it be disrespected before given a chance?
But then on the other (other) hand, shows like Adventure Time have managed to gain loads of respect despite it having that cartoon feel.
-
Hmm I would love if it did come to Nicktoons but I'm not entirely sure if it will because of how poorly it did in America due to 4kids, but hey you never know. With the success of DBZ kai it may be possible that it might get a second chance at least I hope so :D

It's probably nothing buuuut Toonami announced that's tomorrow's Twitter campaign is "#ExpandToonami", hoping to get an additional hour of it (specifically, starting at 11 PM EST instead of 12 AM). Mayhaps it's for an hour of One Piece? It certainly needs it more than the other shows, especially with over 200 episodes dubbed by Funimation.
The only two long runners are Bleach and Naruto. Bleach is fine at one per week, in fact it's in an 8-week hiatus so Viz can dub more episodes (last repeat is tomorrow, returns next week) and Naruto already aired on Toonami and the canon stuff ends at 135 so it wouldn't take as long. But that's all speculation.
-
For Naruto, I doubt they'll stop when the canon stops.
-
I'm sure they will if the rights Disney has to Shippuden expire by then. They've acknowledged on the Tumblr that people wouldn't want to sit through it.
-
I still cant believe CN was stupid enough to run the filler hell in the first place, killing all the momentum the series had.

All things considered I heard the filler did fine. I mean there was a filler episode called "Naruto is Dead" or something that got no advertising but still got great ratings.
-
Still not good enough for it not to get cancelled.
-

It got canceled because CN wanted to distance themselves from anime for some reason, not because of bad ratings.
-
The only acceptable dub is None Piece.
-
There were multiple factors, ratings was one of them. I remember talking to the CEO of FUNimation back in 2008's Anime Expo, and he basically agreed with me when I said it seemed like Cartoon Network just stopped caring about shows they didn't own. And even if a show gets great ratings, if it has a high licensing fee, even one that CN can afford, they might not find it worth it.
Also anyone remember that whole Mooninites "bomb scare" thing that eventually led to the at-the-time CEO leaving Cartoon Network? If that didn't happen things would've probably continued with Toonami being fine.
-
I think One Piece was the first to go since Toei tends to ask for a lot of money for the shows they make.

I've heard nowadays they're FAR more reasonable than they were back in the original Toonami days though.
-
I know! They are getting a lot of deals done in Europe and Latin America. I hope this means they'll lower their prizes for USA too!
-
I see Toriko getting on Nicktoons before One Piece goes on Nicktoon, which is a shame.

What do you base that on?
-
You know, I realize this is partially off topic, but while we are talking about Toriko… Check this review out about it's.... Dub.
Provided, it doesn't really specify much about the dub, but… FUNimation has not produced this type of dub in quite some time.
-
Nicktoons is coming to Latin America. I really hope both USA and LatAM affiliates will pick up One Piece someday.
