@Just_Gabe:
The whole flashback can be hardly labeled as "tragic" for Jimbe, compared to Franky's since he looks more like a spectator of all the major events than one of the central figures, Tiger and Otohime.
I think people are forcing themselves to see differences where there are none or where said differences don't matter.
I guess what it comes down to, for me, is not "is this tragic enough?", but rather, "is this affecting them, and if so, how?" I look at Luffy losing Sabo, Zoro losing Kuina, Usopp losing his mom, Zeff's sacrifice for Sanji, Nami losing her 'mother' to pirates, Chopper causing Hiruluk's death, Robin losing her country to the World Government, Franky causing Tom's death, and Brook losing his crew and being alone… and rather than 'how tragic' they all are, the common thread I see is how their tragedy directly affected their life. All of them were changed, or found their determination in, their personal tragedy. I could go through and list how/why for each of them, but I assume you already know. Looking the same way at Jinbe, we see his views and motive changed by the loss of Tiger, his regret with the Arlong situation, and I'm sure we will see how he is further pushed by what happens with Otohime.
@i:
^ yes, if anything the flashback is a hundred times more 'tragic' for Shirahoshi than anyone else. Hell, you could even argue that it's more tragic for Hodi, seeing his heroes die and turn into 'government dogs'.
Are you an idiot?
@KiShiDo:
Why people are afraid or thinking that big useleyy crybaby will join…
Kish, first of all who the hell are you even quoting? Second, you are only instigating more discussion about Shirahoshi by bringing it back up when the topic is dead. Don't argue against her or talk about her at all and it will go away. Keep bringing up how stupid people are for talking about her only keeps her in discussion longer.
