@Kareem:
@ Loledinmypants I think we found out Kubo can't write a long time ago.
I know, but this chapter reinforces it with pretty much every scene. Like the past 20 weeks plus the 20 Deicides did before this.
The Fullbringers are just such horrible characters, even compared to the norm. Aizen and Ichigo are about the only characters I hate more.
Leave the mouth guys, we still didn't talk about the door enough. I mean, even here he made a mistake http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/78742560/14
See where the doorknob is? I have no fucking idea what stupid monkey is Kubo's editor now, but I pray for him to get his eyesight better, because you'd have to be fucking blind to overlook such mistakes.

The doorknob makes sense, though.
Kubo's getting rather ridiculous with his endings and entrances.
I have expect Ishida to burst in the next chapter to start Bleach: The Musical.

But something that awesome can't possibly come from Bleach.

Just so we're all clear here: If Byakuya did jazz hands in canon, I would forgive him for being a dull asshat.
I'm surprised the background in the play isn't white.
Ahh that's right I forgot Bleach was one of few animes to have one of those.

Oh. Dear. Whitebeard. I imagine in the depths of Hell the Bleach musical is used to torment only the most deranged, violent psychopaths to walk this Earth. No matter what they've done I feel bad for them, having to watch that for all eternity.
The best part is Renji's disco party.

Only half of SS could be called good. Once the Kenpachi fight was over it was nothing but downhill
LOOOOOL THE BLEACH MUSICALS. I watched them all out of sheer boredom one time over the summer or some such cuz I have no life. The best parts are the manly man dances led by Kenpachi. :ninja::ninja: Hitsugaya is such an ass, interrupting Gin's singing. And the dude who plays Chad scares me. I saw a behind-the-scenes clip of Chad backstage talking about how the shirt he was wearing made his nipples pop out. :ermm:

More like the Mayuri/Ishida fight. Yeah the arc and it's overratedness can go to HM with me, but any fight with as much deranged WTFery as that (even with stupidity like "Final Mode" that can be retconned out later) makes the arc.
Musical Kenpachi looks like Rita Repulsa.
I have to agree with Bobjr. To me at least, Soul Society as well as Bleach as a whole pretty much went downhill after the Kenpachi fight.
But that's just my thoughts.
@Cyan:
Musical Kenpachi looks like Rita Repulsa.
AHHH After 10,000 years I'm free! It's time to beat some ass!
"Renji! Kenpachi's escaped! We need to summon five incredibly bland teenagers and whatever the fuck Kon is!"
"Aiyaiyaiyaiyai! Yes Captain Yamamoto!"
Are you implying that Kon is Tommy?
fantasizes
I still don't see the Soul Society Arc as overrated. It's unequivocaly the best part of the series. Just look at the crap that came after that arc and is it any wonder why it recieves so much praise?
Now**, some** people look at it the Soul Society Arc as a pile of dry droppings and the rest of the series as a pile of steaming shit. Now a pile of dry turd is better than a pile of steaming shit but not by much. So when people praise the dry turd they say it's overrated. Understandably, just because it's better than the pile of steaming shit that comes after doesn't mean it's as great as the praise it recieves.
See , I don't look at it that way. Every time I think back on that arc I remember the exciting build and tension. The fights were great and I cared about the characters. Here was this group of teenagers breaking into the Feudal Japanese "heaven" wrecking shit up and fighting warriors that have been training for hundreds of years. The concept of an evolving and living sword as your source of power was interesting and is still interesting even now. The betrayal of Aizen was a great twist and no matter how much Tite scrwed it up that won't change.
Soul Society is a generic rescue the damsel in distress, power up, fight fight fight Arc but that's what makes it great. It doesn't try to be anything different and plays out well inside its comfort zone. When Kubo starts "expanding" on top of that unfortunately it starts goes downhill for me because it's ultimately the same forumla. It's plain and boring and Aizen was turned into a Deus Ex Machina to put everything together and it still doesn't make sense. Unimaginative.
My favorite arc was the Ichigo Fucks Around With Hollows arc before Soul Society.
Aizen's betrayal would have been better if it was thought of before Aizen was killed instead of "You know who should have killed Aizen? Aizen himself. It's so stupidly clever no one will see it coming!"
Aizen's betrayal would have been better if it was thought of before Aizen was killed instead of "You know who should have killed Aizen? Aizen himself. It's so stupidly clever no one will see it coming!"
I still think he had the twist somewhat coming early on if you interpret the scene he's introduced with Renji but…that's just me.
Look, I don't mind a generic arc done right, but somehow for me SS isn't really what I consider that. Sure there were some good fights, but considering most of the hype is rather ruined due to a lot of the circumstances, it just doesn't hold up. I found it starting to go to pot about the point of the final Ichigo/Renji fight and, outside Kenpachi and Mayuri (and some of the weird behavior stuff of characters like the 8th and 4th squad), it didn't really work for me...and this is before Aizen made it all become ridiculous.
Shinigami representative "arc" is the best arc. Ichigos bout with Grand Fisher trumps most of the series in terms of storytelling…and that's volume 3.
Soul society was okay, even post-Kenpachi where you started getting a feeling of "Where is this going exactly?", but especially after the Byakuya fight - the arcs logical climax- where it just kept going. The second climax with Aizens reveal doesn't make any sense to this day, mostly because it is the first definite case of Kubo-Improv. But the majority of SS is just dragged down in retrospect due to all the bullshit reveals and PALM OF MY HAND moments.
Your blind hatred is making you blind as well. Why would a former ally not know where the base is? Why could he have not followed someone there? Seriously, your rampant babble is starting to piss me off.
I'll just repeat what the other guys've said: No way you wouldn't find a new base after your leader turned traitor, murdered your friends, and targetted the one dude who could lift the "curse" on you. And Ginjous overlong phone instructions imply they did. All that security is completely meaningless if people can just guess the location, or if the members don't check if their mortal enemy is tailing his known targets.
Now I'm sorry that I piss you off, but if my criticism comes across as "blind" then I really must do a shitty job at writing comprehensible posts. Because on the contrary I make a point of having highly Observant, Analytical scorn of Bleach, compared to just saying "This SUCKS! I don't care what you say but this SUCKS!"
But if my criticism of Kubos writing and plotholes interfere with your enjoyment of this series or just grate on your nerves, then you either need to bring out an extremely sound defense of this series flaws, or just put me on ignore.
Because as long as Kubo writes the way he does, I'm going to keep ridiculing this trainwreck.
Oh, and that musical thing…phweh, not the worst highschool production I've seen.
Whats that? Professional?

Well, Kubo stated in an interview thatKubo: “At first I did not plan Aizen to become the shadow behind everything. I just thought he will become the enemy after he was killed
I guess you can interpret it in different ways, but I see it as Kubo saying that he thought up Aizen being a villain after he'd already killed him, then later made him the center of the universe.
And I reread the newest chapter to check, and found something else I find highly amusing. After their mortal enemy enters the room, weapon drawn, none of the fullbringers do anything besides going 0_0 as he walks slowly towards the location of thier prized Ichigo. Even as he reaches the tank, they do nothing but gawp impassively at him. Wait, thats not entirely true, Ginjou gives him a stern warning, which Male Unohana somehow finds the courage to ignore. Really, If he'd aimed his cut a bit better he could have killed the protagonist right there, effortlessly. Guys, I know he has like a super awesome sword or whatever, but you could have done something. Bradley, how about one of your hella-broken timers of Doom? Perona can't stuff his soul into a teddybear? Chad, no laser blast to the face of the guy who just assaulted Orihime, and is about to kill your best friend? Not even a token activation of your powers and a defensive stance? Anyone?
I enjoyed Bleach up to the end of the Arrancar arc, that's when Kubo started to lose me. The battle against Aizen had some good moments, but he really should have ended the series after Ichigo won, now we have to deal with this crap.
And god forbid how many years of fillers for the anime

Yeah but I always found it hilarious knowing Aizen was behind it all watching that scene with him and Renji, as if I interpreted it differently than Kubo because I knew what was going to happen. I mean, when I saw that scene, I had the following in my head:
Aizen: Hey Renji, don't you think it's strange that they're making such a big deal about that Shinigami girl who just gave up her powers to that orange-headed kid in some boondocks? Well that's because I'm behind it all…I'm trying to get something from her body through technical matters because I have to complete some experiments with some evolved version of those monsters from the first arc so it can make it much easier for me to evolve into a butterfly monster that is completely haxxed and prevents me from using all that other crap I will be hyping at the end of this arc and prove my superiority to all you worms just because I want to complete some stuff that that candy-shop owner in that place that the girl and that boy ironically are from did better than me.
So…don't you think it's strange they're moving her execution up?
(of course I knew the twist was coming when I saw that scene…having spoiled all that crap)

I know and all the Bleach fans talk about how awesome that fight is but it was honestly pretty bad, not as bad as what came later, but not good. The way it ended was pretty dumb. Maybe you could forgive it because of Rule of Cool like "Zaraki is so badass that using both hands is all he needs to defeat an enemy" but it would have been so much better if he had a new attack.
At least in the Kenpachi fight it sort of made sense…for him. It wasn't as stupid as the other two getting their "perfect opponent" (Zommari getting a guy who can control millions of blades at once, Szayel meeting a mad scientist crazier than himself)

The Mayuri vs Szayel fight is actually one of the only fights in Bleach post-SS that was actually awesome. Well, only really the end, where Mayuri kills Szayel in the most brutally, sadistically awesome way imagineable. Mayuri was one of the few Bleach characters that I actually thought was awesome all the way through.
I like to phrase it like this. There are all sorts of Bleach characters that were awesome when they were introduced and stayed awesome. You've got Zaraki and Mayuri and Zaraki and Urahara and Mayuri and Zaraki and Urahara. That's 7 characters right there. Wait.
Maybe I'm just butthurt Neliel was forgotten so quickly. I had so much fanwank hope of her becoming an important ally, with an interesting dynamic whereby she was much stronger than Ichigo and had a strong desire to devour his soul that she had to suppress, all the while feeding Ichigo important information about the inner workings of Aizen's army, despite being conflicted about helping a shinigami. I also had hope the reason she was kiddified would be explained to satisfaction.
Ahaha. I hadn't known that Bleach was in fact a series of perpetual disappointment just yet.

Yoruichi I'll give you, but I never really cared about Nel. She more interesting than the other Espada sure, but that really doesn't mean anything. That's like saying which dirty sock was the best, who really cares. But if you want to like her, go on ahead, it's better than if you liked Ulquiorra.
