Well I like it because, it still falls under the tune of the original WE ARE song and the lyrics don't concern or bother me at all.
It really like it because, it isn't another crappy rap song.

I admire most faithfully ported songs, the foremost of which would be the English Sobakasu for Kenshin, which featured an English arrangement based on the sheet music.
4Kids basically made up their own words and used the original Japanese track to OP's first opening, minus the words. Aside from Dan Green's voice in the beginning, of which I prefer Bailey and Stuart for the OP Rap, it is still a good rendition of the show.
I enjoyed it quite a bit. Then again, that's most likely because my only alternative is "YO HO HO HE TOOK A BITE 'A GUM-GUM!"
Yes, very much. One of the only things 4kids did right, and they don't even use it. Idiots.>=(
If it was a choice between that and the rap I'd chose that anytime. Sure it isn't as good as the original but then nothing is.
I liked it. Actually, I heard that version before the orignal so I thought those were the actual words. xD
Anyway, it's a bit cheesy but at least it 'attempts' to hold to the original.
We can I hear the engilsh, and japanese "WE ARE" and what is it really?
in the scene when the big "dragon fish" are jumping into the water.. it sorta sounds like the jap version because the TV rip, mp3 from Cinder wasn't too clear.
do they even use the words we are?
do they even use the words we are?
Now that you mention it, no o.o it's probably not even called "We Are", but it's the only way we can identify it.
I'll take metal (which I disdain) over the 4Kids rap, any day. At least with metal, my ears don't last long enough to bleed.
Edit: And, the original We Are song wasn't bad, either. (I forgot the original question. >.>)
Nooooo changing most of the lyrics is the main reason why I don't I like it I mean I know that some songs in japanese can be translated into english to match the sound of the song but still FYI the original version of Makafushigi Adventure stomps all over the Funimation version.
One thing i never did take into consideration is the fact that 4Kid$$$ went to the trouble of making an english version of We Are (eventhough it didn't get used in the long run) but couln't do the same thing for Shuffle,Wild Drive, Warriors, or Overlap (Yu-Gi-Oh) but then again YGODM is about to be put out to pasture pretty soon anyway.
end on one last note the english version of Ruruoni Kenshin opening is horrible it actually made me remembered the days when Toonami never used to show the openings to the anime they air.
The dubed Rurouni kenshin was by toonami and they actually translated the song.I liked it,The voice sounded the same and it was over all good.Except the scene where kenshin was fighting…Didnt match the music.
The English version…it's good, but it isn't the original, is it? I think that'll always be the best.
It's not perfect, but it's a hell lot better than the crappy rap.

The television (one minute) version doesn't, but that does not rule out the possibility of the "CD" version (if 4Kids man one) having "We Are" in the lyrics.
Yes. It stayed true to the original opener, just with changed, but good, English lyrics.
God.. anything is better then the RAP.
but it was ok… B+ for effort.
I like it. I think discarding Engrish is dumb (i.e. the last 2 lines), but meh.
All I can say is this: Atleast they tried
the rap rocks.
"yo ho ho he took a bite of gum gum"
i'm serious, il like the rap song.
and english we are is ok, too.

lol. I ain't gonna lie but i like the rap song….we are english is good too.
i despise the rap song…. i cried when i first heard that mess they call music...
but that's also because i don't like rap in general
i personally liked the english version of "We Are!", it actually kept the same feel that the Japanese version did, of course w/ different lyrics, but that didn't bother me... I really wish they had kept it... but that's asking too much i suppose....
