Damn, I got to say I am starting to love Chris on the team.
Two grenades, land mine, gun fire and assist if closing in.
I honestly didn't know he was gonna be a zoner >_<
Wesker's counters and teleports are orgasmic.
They're just damn right sexy.
Dante? His moves were actually easy to learn.
I use all of them with the exception of the rain weapon.
I see him on nearly every team online, but they all suck…
I did laugh on a Dante vs Dante where we clashed our gun specials.
Every Phoenix I fought online, SUCKS ASS.
Dark Phoenix isn't scary at all.
And EVERY Phoenix user I fought, DC'd when I won >_>
Am I the only one who tends to lose a little bit of respect for a player whose team consists of Ryu AND Akuma? Is it just me? Am I the one with the problem?
Dark Phoenix CAN be a bitch.
Last night I almost HAD KoS and nailed Phoenix with a hyper (forgot who's, Dante's I think) and she had a SLIVER of health left. He turned into Dark Phoenix and ruined my fucking day. She may have health like glass… but them projectiles and that shield are nasty as hell.

If this was Street Fighter I'd be on the same boat.
But considering it's a VS game… it's not like they have a GREAT advantage over any character.
For example: their Shoryuken may be anti air... but it's not even close to the SF level of anti air.
Akuma's 23872937289 Air Gou Hadoken does look like it hurts thou.
And I'm slowly falling in love with Ryu's Shinkuu Hadoken (aiming, son!)
It's not so much an advantage thing, it's more along the lines of "all this variety of characters and you pick BOTH the shotos?!"
True.
Some people just don't like to be out of their comfort zone.
I used to be a Shoto player.
:x
I never…NEVER thought I would ever even consider using Dormammu.
Now, I've been contemplating maining him.
Turns out something is wrong with my router. God dammit.
Hate Dark Phoenix now: Just lost a match that came down to Viper and Dark Phoenix and I ran outta time. He became Dark Phoenix early in the match and then switched her out and I lost just as I hit Vipers level 3 Super while in X-Factor.
I rarely ever see Dark Pheonix. I blame my "bring 1 heavyweight and Dormammu" policy.
That, and people don't seem to be able to save their supers.
My friend bought his X-box over to my house today and we played. I'm pretty good as She-Hulk, C. Viper, and Magneto. Thats probably going to be my team. Taskmaster was pretty fun to play as well.
Hey guys, just poppin' in this thread to remind everyone, Sentinel is dumb and gets his ass easily kicked by Arthur and Chris and anyone who still thinks he's broken is a big ding-dong.
Peace out.
lol Chris vs. Sentinel.
Just lay on the ground from fullscreen and shoot guns. Nullify 90% of Sentinel's options.
What about X-23?
I saw some insane combos with her and she seems pretty potent with the right assists (meter Morrigan and projectile anyone).
:x
Sentinel is nothing to me now haha wolverine <3 haha
The problem with Sentinel isn't when he's in, it's when he's doing assists.
lol Chris vs. Sentinel.

I don't even need to lay on the ground for the most part, he's such a big honking target he's practically asking to eat a magnum full screen, and it does some pretty decent chip damage too.
You were totally right, Sentinel is this game's [spiritual] Iron Tager!
The problem with Sentinel isn't when he's in, it's when he's doing assists.
I never really had a problem with that.
If I can get grounded fast enough I can pop off a shot and interrupt him before he executes whatever assist he's going for, or even better, unleash the Grenade Launcher Hyper as soon as he comes out.
X-23 is pretty good, when I was playing as her.
You haven't faced someone who used Wesker's teleport/Sentinel's assist then.
Sentinel gets gimped full-screen, that's his biggest problem, and why the likes of Chris, Arthur, and Dormammu can have their way with him. Same applies here. Even if Wesker teleports in with Sentinel backing him up, at a certain distance Wesker can't make it behind his opponent, and Sentinel's assists either whiff, get blocked, or Sent gets kncoked away.
Dormammu alone at full screen with Carpet Flame out pretty much stuffs that combination.
And if you apply constant melee pressure, ala Zero or Taskmaster, it gimps Sentinel the other way; by staying on his ass and abusing his giant hitbox. Same goes for his assists. A hyper-agressive Taskmaster is likely to bat Sentinel away with a Mighty Swing combo string.
I've fought many people who abuse the Sentinel assists. Pressure is the key.
I faced RageaSarus like 10 times,I lost them all,but had fun.
I really need to find a team I'm good with,I'm liking Morrigan alot so I'll probably use her,but not sure who else yet.

That's a pretty terrible player (Red Hulk).
He literally jumped around while on X Factor mode…
/facepalm
LMAO, yes I laughed at that. But seriously, watch the rest of the online matchups of DSP, he loses like 2 times out of 30 with the Wesker/Sentinel combo.
I'm sure he does, but just because he has a good win score with a team don't mean much.
I'd have some good win records some nights and I'm mediocre at best.
And only lord knows what type on control setup the other people have (he's clearly using a Stick though)
If someone knows what they're doing that pressure isn't gonna mean much. All it takes is an advanced guard–--->Sentinel----->Teleport.
It also is a bitch of an assist with characters with a fast air rush. I recently faught someone that used the Sentinel assist with X-23 and constantly did super jump---->Sentinel---->air drill claw ( I don't know X-23 that well so I dunno what it's called for her). It seems anyone with a good air dash/teleport and Sentinel can truly screw you over. I'm not saying there's not ways to counteract it but it's.......you need to face a few people that use this tactic effectively to know what I'm talking about.
And no, this isn't me being salty. Off the top of my head I'm like 6-4 against Sentinels but the shit is annoying as hell when you're doing an air super and it gets knocked out by that assist.
Fair enough.
I'm more concerned about X-23 than Sentinel to be honest.
Everything I've seen from Sents seems like it could be countered somehow.
X-23 is fast as hell and her combos seem to go for ever with little to no setup X.x
Or maybe it's all in how it's presented, maybe X-23 requires more finesse than Sentinel… but that hitbox of his is a giant weakspot in this game.
Then again, maybe next week we'll see a free patch with nerfs to Sentinel, I'd laugh my ass off if that happened XD
Yes, her speed and combos are truly a problem but I've yet to have too much of a hassle with X-23 because of Trish.
Seriously, I need a stick. I am so tired of my EX Thunderknuckles not coming out and why the hell is Akuma doing his Backwards DP flip whenever I try to do the Tatsumaki?
OMG I just beat a 9th lord lmao but the cunt quit on me so I didnt get the win, what a sad fellow couldnt accept the fact I was better than him ( and Iam only like first rank atm just started the online part) hate rage quiters they suck so much. but my team on spidy, deadpool and dante (dante feels to generic online so I just swaped him for iron man) is almost unstopable
@Eustlass:

Geez, I hope that lamer keeps that up so he can end up in "Rage Quitter Hell."
I've had less than 30 matches and have come across 2 quitters and 2 lag switchers.
Lag switchers…
The worst kind of scum!
EDIT: I'm gonna go ahead and add to the "People Who Rape Sentinel" list. Tron and Taskmaster. Tron less so, as Sentinel can zone her from a distance, but if she gets in on Sent, it's over. He may hit like a truck, but that girl can cross you up, overwhelm you with her high-priority attacks, attack relatively quickly for a heavyweight, and generally combo her ass off. He's a big target, she has huge range, and she devours health. Sentinel has one combo, Tron can do whatever she wants to him. Hell, she can instantly overhead him with a quick jumping M. And Jumping M ain't exactly a slow move.
Taskmaster's a given. Guy can zone like a motherfucker, and rush you down like some kind of monster once he gets in. Both of Sentinel's weaknesses in one character.
Y'know who doesn't rape Sentinel? Wesker… :(
Sadly, A lot of Wesker's ground game gets beaten by Sentinel's crouching M (his only low, the double crouching kick, which has super armor), and his Samurai Edge attacks get eaten by Sentinel's ranged game... Wesker's got his counters, but the timing required, and the penalty for a screw-up, is an unforgiving sort...
Ah, Wesker, you couldn't be perfect, could ya?!
Been having tons of fun experimenting with the third member of my team. It used to be Hsien-Ko but lately I've been playing around with Hulk, and MODOK. I think I might try out Dormammu… But Dr.Doom and Taskmaster are a must have! I have a kick ass, TaskMaster vertical assists, + hidden missiles combo. It's so much fun :D
If someone is stupid enough to jump above me, or wait on the other side of the screen, they get pummled with about 13 different projectiles.
Just like the good ol' days where Strider ripped Sentinel apart. I was never a Strider or Sentinel player, but I saw that amazing Neo vs. Clockwork match. Still wish it had gone the other way….
I need to get better with Dante. I can only pull off his second-stage attacks (Fireworks, lightning leg thing, etc.) about 50% of the time. And his bread and butter air M, ground H, M, S jump-in still gives me trouble. That's my penalty for, you know, sucking.
This nigga is so fucking stupid…
Wesker can merk Sentinel… and Sentinel is still cheap AND for scrubs.
I'm seeing special edition copies of MvC3 around.
I can actually afford to get it now, it'd just leave me with zero dollars in my checking account.
Is it worth it to go for it now, or is MvC3 going to be like HALO or something
Where special editions never run out
I'm pretty sure it's the latter and I'm not worried though.
While I have no idea, I can't recommend emptying your bank account for it.
Wait a week.
Depends. The extra money you're shelling out is essentially to pay for Shuma and Jill in advance (although I'm not sure what their prices will be upon release), a cool tin case, a month to marvel comics online, and a completely whack comic book.
I'd honestly suggest going for the standard edition if you're worried about cash.
Oh wait
That comic book
THE PLANET OF THE FAGOS Yeah I don't need special edition fuck that
Everyone I'm PSN sharing with got special edition anyways so unless there's magic reprimands, I'll have jill and shu regardless.
Shuma and Jill are supposedly going to be five bucks. Though I don't know if that's five bucks each. I'd assume so…
The comic is just completely lame.
The executioner from RE5 (who even get's introduced) gets more panel time than most of the other characters.
I don't count advance payment for DLC characters to be a bonus, so the only really cool things about the C.E. is the tin case and I guess a month of free marvel comics.
To be fair the box art may possibly be worth it in the long run if your children are going to shuffle through your old video games
"Hey dad what's this oh god hulk's face jesus is that morrigan is what oh god is this what video games used to look like before we all got connected to the wired"
But the old FFXII tin case is kind of not holding up well (unless you're into that rustic vintage look), so tin cases for video games I'm not gonna jump on.
standard edition ho
The comic is just completely lame.
Seriously. It just SCREAMS bad fan fiction.
"And then Chris and Jill, who is randomly there for no reason, are about to be attacked by the super big monster from RE5! And then the Hulk smashes him! And then the villains talk about important stuff." And then the only good part: "And Wesker can't be there cause he's doing experiments and shit, so he treats the meeting of 'Ultimate Evil' like it's a prep conference for the new year of his company".
"And the bullshit fight conversation (because we all have conversations while we fight to the death). And random testicle appears. Galactus appears, and Dante says some stupid shit."
Seriously. I wrote that sort of stuff in grade school. Maybe not Wesker being awesome or Dante's pimp comment, but the flow of the story is pretty similar.
I don't count advance payment for DLC characters to be a bonus, so the only really cool things about the C.E. is the tin case and I guess a month of free marvel comics.
I was at Target today, and saw the game on the shelf. The box art still makes me cringe. It's seriously hideous. Plus, the month of free comic books (which I haven't used yet, and might save it for the summer) seems pretty nice.
I'm happy I got the pre-order.
@Holy:

So, so true.
Oh God, by then, Marvel vs Capcom 4 will be out. And people will be crying because there is no Dante.
standard edition hoh
I'm sorry…but....I had to fix that.
Yeah, not being able to buy…oh wait...unlock Jill and Shuma early is kinda lame. Oh Capcom and your shysty DLC ways....
Yeah, the only good thing about that comic is Wesker out-badassing the Marvel villain cabal and Dante's pimp remark. But I do like that free month of Marvel comics, tin box, AND the Shuma Gorath shirt I got for ordering it from Capcom.
But if it's too much, just go for the regular edition. Besides, you're gonna wanna save up to get that sexy sexy strategy guide, anyway. Quite possibly the greatest fighting game strategy guide ever printed.
The comic is just completely lame.
Lame? More like just plain shitty. I just wish they could of done more with it.
Anyways, I must admit, the game is addictive as hell, especially when you're playing online. Also, this game seems to be much easier to get into then SSF4 IMO.
Chris, Wesker and….Dormammu?
Sorry Zero, I love ya and all, but dat Purification of his is such a better anti air complement for Chris.
I'll fit you somewhere else.
Zero has seriously become the "I want to use you, but I just can't find a spot for you" for me. He's quite good, but there is no team that I'm like, "HE'D FIT PERFECTLY HERE!"
Oh and…
You know I know how!
I launched Ryu's ass with Dormammu!
My B-I-L can't handle me right now!
Throwing more TK Shots like I know how!
And Trish is raping Akuma right now!
Oh…I've finally surpassed him.
I felt that way about Zero since TvC. All flashy combos. Not much else.
Oh, Zero in MVC3 is rape in the right hands. I usually use him as my rushdown man in my usual team style (rushdown/technical, heavyweight, Dormammu). I usually end up paring him with Tron, just for the Mega Man love, but he tends to work better with Sentinel, I find.
He's got a few good approach options, too. Especially that red afterimage thing, since it can put him behind opponents and trip them up.
