FUNi typically does twelve or thirteen, so eleven isn't going to kill them (espicially if it ends the season for them).
Got my One Piece Season Three Fourth Voyage today, so I've been watching that.

@HiroVoid:
I think he just meant that he's glad we never got the boxart in the first place.
Exactly .
@Yuugi's:
.
Thanks for the trailer, hopefully FUNimation will be licensing Season 4 AND releasing at the very least the first voyage of Season 4 this year.
I only have enough right now to either get S3V4 or Pre-order S3v5, which one should I do?
I do want the end of Skypeia, but I never did see G8 and I wanna see that, ooh tough choice.
advice anyone?

Get S3v4.
If you preorder S3v5, you wont get charged for a few months till it comes out.
I am saying 13. Why change the number now when they haven't in the past.
They've changed the number of episodes before. Season 2 Sixth Voyage had 14 episodes. G8 could easily be a set all on its own, even if they did have Season 4 dubbed.
Oh. I didn't notice that. Well I guess it would make sense to have 11 episodes but I guess we will see in a few months.
Just ordered Season 3 Part 4 and pre-ordered Season 3 Part 5 (WHOO HOO G8!)!
Through all the snow, I didn't know
The wonders that awaited
Me when I returned to my abode
When I saw, I was elated!
My copy of Season 3
Fourth Voyage has arrived!
Oh, frabjous day! Calloh, callay!
This rhyme is most contrived.
EDIT: I also received the newest Nintendo Power today and there was an ad for Dragonball Z Kai in it. Very cool.
My Season 3 Voages 1 and 3 finally arrived. I ordered them at the beginning of December. Glad I can finally start watching my Season 3 sets without starting on V2. ^^
JUst finished it all. Loved it all except for Norlands/Nolands performance, it just didn't sit right with me. Also Robin called Luffy by name several times, is that right?

I'm pretty sure Robin only called Luffy by name pre-Enies Lobby.
Didnt she she call him senchou-sa(Demon Rin Points Gun)….er Captain-sa(Loads gun) captain?
She dropped the 'n' on '-san'? Who does she think she is, Chichi?
I just read the Viz Translation and in that scene Robyn did call him Luffy just like in the Funi dub while everyone else gets a title. I'll watch it in Japanese and see what she says and find out what she says in manga raw. Not that I care that much, just interesting is all.
Super awesome set .
I really love Luffy's line about Eneru ruining the weather and calling him an "electrical freak" ,couldn't stop laughing at that. And the way Luffy/Colleen delivered Golden rifle was badass :)

Don't put words in my mouth… err.... guns in my hand!
Episode 188 left in a mention of an Eternal Compass. This set has been really great though, I've seen all of the first half so far.
FUCK!!
UPS came and no one from my house opened the door (I was at work), so now I gotta wait 'till Monday.

Don't they just drop off the package and leave?
I never have to sign a thing, then again, I'm always using gift cards for payment.

Well, I said house… But I really meant apartment. And, nah, they just leave a sticky note that tells you when they'll try again.
I've seen the first episode of Disc 2 that G1Ravage was talking about and I agree with him. The flashback must have had someone else voicing Chopper, because it sounded nothing like Brina Palencia at all. I wasn't expecting it to stand out to me that much, because I wasn't even trying to search for it.
Finished the set as well. Boy, a lot of the dub's secondary characters and background characters have terrible performances.
Anyhow, seeing the Calgara/Noland backstory has me convinced Skypiea is the best arc this far into the series. There's just nothing more epic than that plot thread.
A small handful of moments have made me cry in this series.
Noland and Calgara's parting was definitely one of them. Such a strong scene.

Huh, odd.
The UPS guys around my town just drive by, run up to the door and put the package down, ring the doorbell, and then they run back to their van and get the hell out of there.
It all depends on the local branch and the areas in which they deliver. There is an option on the UPS site to notate if you prefer they leave it at your apartment office or just try again, just fyi going forward.

I'm talking about shipments sent to my house though (I live in a one story duplex FYI, not an apartment).
You can also notate if you want them to just leave it on your doorstep or try again. It's a liability issue for them, and they don't want people getting pissed their packages were stolen from their doorsteps unless they have permission prior to leave them.

Well, I guess my neighborhood is an exception then, cuz lately they've always just dropped them off and left, heh
(I do remember my mom having to sign off some packages in the past, but that was like 5 years ago or sumthin)

I disagree. I loved Alabasta way more. I remember reading the manga of Skypeia and feeling like it was a filler arc half the time.
Water 7 / Enies Lobby is still the best arc, in my opinion. Whitebeards war was great, but for some reason Water 7 just appealed to me more.
I don't want to receive my DVD on Monday. That's my busiest day.
Come back last Friday.

I really liked W7/EL from an emotional and character standpoint (I'm always a fan of the arcs that are rooted in character development, ala Arlong Park etc), but the anime dragged it out WAY too long, in the same way that Marineford has been.
I did, however, enjoy Skypeia for its scope and general sense of adventure, it was a refreshing change of pace from the more heavy tone of Alabasta, which I think is cool that Oda rotates between adventurous and melodramatic arcs (it helps keep things fresh).
In my opinion… W7/EL and skypiea are two of the best arcs thus far just bc they have so much more depth to them than normal. I mean we start out in skypiea, for example, with Jaya, Norland, Sky Island, and a city of Gold supposedly under the sea that are four separate ideas at first, but as the arc progresses we see all these separate ideas coming together and by the end of the arc everything makes sense. With W7/EL we have Galley-La, Franky Family, The World Government and even a lil bit of Gold Roger that all effect each other... and with all the unexpected little twists and turns in between is what makes these arcs so beautifully done in my opinion. Same thing could be applied to AP... and even somewhat to Drum Island... also FI is starting to look like this too.. .but dont get me wrong im not dissing the other arcs!! all of Oda's arcs r so amazing they can't even be put into words... but there are those arcs that stand out from the rest.
Funimation got through with One arc and did an awesome job... now lets get to W7 Funi!!! and u better do it right!! D<
I wouldn't like to bunch Water Seven & Enies Lobby together, since W7 is one of the best things Oda has done with EL being the weakest arc in the series.
Skypiea is my favourite full stop. Going from "Liar Norland" to the best flashback OP has ever done, the whole adventurous feel of the arc, from teaches prclomation to the knockup stream to the lost city.
"dream within a dream" is the best arc.
The thing with Enies Lobby is that it really only works as the latter half of the Water Seven arc. Arcs all typically have the same set up in One Piece (the first half is introduction and exploration) while the second half is battles. Enies Lobby serves as the battle half of the Water Seven arc, tying up all of the main plot threads set up in the introduction and exploration half that is Water Seven. Water Seven's introduction half just lasted longer than usual (at least, longer than one might say Whisky Peak's or Little Garden's did).
Got DVD set.
Of course, can't watch it until either late tonight or tomorrow.
guuughghhg
I finally got Season 3 Fourth Voyage. What little I've seen seems great so far.
Colleen saying "I want chicken nuggets" in her luffy voice on the commentary had me dying of laughter.

Yeah. I wasn't looking for it and I too notice that Chopper sounded a bit off.

Skypeia to me is like a fine wine. It gets better with age.
At first you watch it and think it is a bit lame compare to Alabasta. Then you watch it again and maybe read it. After doing that again you begin to appreciate and love it.
Yeah. So loved Skypeia right now. Very awesome.

I don't understand all the flack EL gets, It, along with Water 7, is seriously one of my favorite Arcs.
Also, the anime wasn't that bad to be honest. If you watch through all of it while skipping the seven minute recaps, what you have left is actually paced pretty well.
If FUNi's DVDs' Marathon feature skip the Recaps, the pacing will be golden.

I still don't get why they include recaps. I understand there are times when there're recaps that add to the previous episode, but it's very rare. Overall, skipping recaps seems like it'd be better.

Because the show is shown one episode a week in Japan and it's a Kids show.
Kids aren't guaranteed to remember everything that happened last week, nor are they guaranteed to have even caught the last episode.
The Recap reminds them "this is where we are in the story now".
For us, who watch them in semi-marathons on our DVDs, it seems odd, but on a weekly basis, they serve a purpose.
Do these FUNimation boxsets come with the Marathon Mode? Because if so, like Rin said, I don't think the pacing will be that bad in Enies Lobby.
lets just hope we get to Enies Lobby hehe

Yes, they do have marathon mode. It is one of the only 2 releases Funimation actually has a marathon mode of(this and the dbz orange bricks).

I was actually referring to the marathon mode on the Funimation DVDs.
What exactly is the Marathon mode on the DVDs? Is it just playing the episodes back to back?
I never quite understood it, nor did I ever really use it.

Yeah. It just goes straight from episode to episode skipping the previews, openings, and endings. Unfortunately, it keeps the recaps.
I will be watching Episodes 183-195 this Friday, if all goes well.
I have a propaganda for you all.
I hope that this works. Because its the only idea I have to get the DVD sales up.
Post all over the web what DVD sets you got.
That means on Twitter, Facebook, You-Tube, or whatever you can think of.
Post it to let funimation know that people really want more One Piece. And to also let other people know to actually buy One Piece.
And actually, if you're trying to get someone into the series, tell them to get Season 1 1st Voyage. And then tell them the amount of DVD's that have been released by funimation. That should reduce this scare of "OMG! THIS SERIES IS TO LONG!! T_T"
It really shouldn't take much effort at all. But just get the word out. And tell other people to do the same. Tell them to post what DVD's of One Piece they have.
This is the only idea I can think of. Sorry if it sucks.
